Sent my carpet out to be cleaned. It was then returned almost 2 weeks later. Upon examination, our crema coloured carpet still had stains and was dirty along the edges (did not look touched). We sent it back for cleaning and it was then returned almost 2 weeks later again. I declined to check it at the door, knowing that if it was still dirty, I wasn't interested in sending it out for another 2 weeks to the same company. After the technician left, we opened the carpet to find it smelling of 'wet dog', quite pungent. I contacted the company and moved the carpet to my garage to air it out. After not hearing back from Nationwide, I called again to inquire about the odour. I was told I would be contacted on Monday. After not hearing back in the morning, I contacted the company myself to explain my situation. After a description of my troubles I was told a technician would be dispatched to evaluate my concerns. I was then told in further that I in fact declined a "deoderizer' when the carpet was initially picked up....as though that was an explanation for the carpet returning the second time smelling terrible.
The fact is we declined MANY of the services offered to us when the carpet was picked up. I was a little shocked to find that they needed to upsell so much at the door when we were initially only quoted one highly advertised price on the phone. In the end, I also declined having the technician come back to check it out. I know the carpet smells. I have no interest in losing the carpet again for another two weeks. I didn't appreciate the sarcastic approach of the person on the phone when I was quite calmly trying to explain my situation. All too much of a headache.
Ironically after visiting the website I came across this statement on the home page...
" All work that you have performed by NationWide Carpet Cleaning Victoria is backed by our simple service promise. It's not clean until YOU say its clean... Guaranteed. If you are unsatisfied with any service that NationWide Carpet Cleaning provides we'll refund your money in full. No arguments and no hassle."
Well... the saleperson on the phone told us it was smelling at this point in time because we refused deoderizer. I guess it DIDN'TSMELL the first time because it didn't even look like it had been cleaned at all. Seems like an argument and a hassle. Too bad we didn't get that promised refund:) read more
