Hot Power Yoga in Laramie blew me away from the first day and continues to impress me every time I go in for some practice. The staff is kind, patient, and they make it a point to welcome each person who comes through their door, whether they are a returning student or a first-timer. I've only tried a few of their many creative classes, but I've never felt like I couldn't participate because of the difficulty of the postures; all but one or two are offered in a heated room and the teachers offer shame-free hands-on adjustments. The lobby is clean and inviting, with comfortable decor, soft couches, and plenty of storage space for bags and outerwear. They sell a small - but thoughtful - assortment of yoga accessories from outfits to mats to blocks. The hot room is evenly heated and has one large wall of mirrors, a smooth floor, and soft lighting that is dimmed for maximum focus. Music is played during many of the classes, but it is never distracting and actually helps me to concentrate more on what I'm doing in the room rather than what my head wants to think about outside of the room (ahh, life). Occasionally props are used during some of the more challenging/power focused classes, and scented oils and buckwheat bags (for covering eyes during savasana) are used at the end of a class to help return the body to a calm, rested state. Lastly, scheduling classes is super easy and really streamlines the process. It's not necessary to sign up online before attending, but it's helpful in case a class fills up (after work hours and weekends, especially), and the scheduling software gives you a clear description of each class so you can better decide what you're in the mood for trying on any given day. I've only been attending this studio for a short while, but I'll be continuing my practice with Hot Power Yoga for the duration of my stay in Laramie. They truly practice what they preach, and none of it is preachy.

While there, my son and I also got great cuts. We are newish to Laramie and had not found a place for our hair. I got rid of about 10 inches of hair and came up w a game plan for future visits. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Went in for lash lift and tint - was first time ever doing this…read moreso could be my fault for not knowing what to ask for or expect. Technician was friendly. But lash lift was not great. Lashes are over-curled, bent straight up from my lash line so they look bent not curled and they poke into my eyelids. I had asked for brown tint because I didn't want a dramatic look but tech suggested blue black. I went with her suggestion which I should not have - this might be personal preference, but black is an odd look as they're very striking and obvious paired with them over curled, lashes look very odd and unflattering, they stick straight up and look bent at my lash line and crispy. Eyelids were swollen and red after the procedure and it burned during. Not sure if that's just normal after a lift though. It was a lot of money to look goofy. Someone commented I look like Minnie Mouse with the lashes sticking straight up. This could be my fault not knowing what to ask for or how to direct the tech but as it was my first time I trusted the technician, but really wish I had skipped this or could reverse it, it looks ridiculous. Not sure if the staff is just trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible but very disappointed.
