Eggplant Chipotle Panini
Erika P.

Came here after playing tennis at the Jackie Robinson courts and was super happy with my choice! I got the sorrel which was a perfect blend of tart and sweet. I also got the lentil patty which was delicious and filling. I then finished with an eggplant panini and it was sooo good! I will 100% be back soon to get more! They also have plenty of seating and the service is friendly.

This business is consistent in freshness, great customer service, and quality food. The menu items update and the popular items remain consistent. I'm never disappointed here!

It's my first time staying/visiting the BedStuy area and I came across this great spot while exploring. I've loved everything I tried here and it is all vegan! From the chicken patties to the Mac and cheese, the flavor is absolutely there. All the staff are very nice too which makes the experience even more memorable. Def coming back!

Love love love this place. Cute little local spot with lots of brown faces. They seem friendly enough so the customer service was fair. I do think they could move with more urgency, but it is a very laid back place. But let's get into my order. I only order the peanut power punch with almond milk and the pumpkin pattie. The pattie had the flakiest crust. It was buttery and authentic and the filling was seasoned so so well. I'm a huge pumpkin fan, but they did it justice. The smoothie was so bomb. Like I'm def making it a regular order of mine. Spiced perfectly, cold, perfect consistency, and nothing too crazy. Super filling too. This was a whole meal and I spent about $12

Caribbean Spice Sausage Panini

The food is always amazing here. This panini sandwich w/ the Caribbean sausage was everything. I usually come in for patties and smoothies as well. The service is great, and usually there's a line. The space is always clean and vibrant. It's a casual dining space.

I am so upset that I did not see that this was a vegan cafe. I would not have paid $11 for a curry chicken meal if it was not going to be actual chicken! On the scan to order menu there's no note that the meats r soy based very misleading! I was coming on here to complain about the texture of the chicken only to find out it wasn't real. At least I had a good smoothie.

Dope Vegan Spot On the walk in; I thought it was a juice spot or a bakery. Walked past the register n found myself in a small fOur table seating area. Beautiful Decor, Fresh smells & fresh inventory even tho it was later in the day it was well kept. Jam rock type vibes from the beautiful painting to music to the colorful vegan options that included traditional Jamaican dishes like jerk chicken & curry chicken but all plant based. They have juIces, salads, plates of food which are a decent size colorful and taste like a regular Jamaican spot... BUT ITS VEGAN! Ha! (I did order salmon ((because I can)) But next time maybe I'll try a burger or the curry. My juice was perfect. I'm not vegan but I enjoyed my visit & left full.

Matcha 'Cado w apple juice

I found this spot by accident and I'm not sorry. I got off the bus, ready to transfer when I saw this bright and interesting place. With this boiling weather all I wanted was something cool and refreshing. It was was really difficult for me to pick something out because there were a lot of good options. Once I finally figured what I wanted I stood where I thought the line began just for some one to come in and get in front of me. Besides that the employees were cool. This place is really busy though but I definitely understand why. I ordered the Matcha' Cado with apple juice as my choice of liquid and omggggg it was amazing! Now that I'm typing this I'm remembering all the details of how great it actually was. It wasn't until I left that I realized they serve vegan food. If I knew that before I definitely would have left with a whole meal. Anyway, I'm looking forward to being in the area again just so I can come back.

If you're hungry and on a budget I don't suggest getting that $5.25 Ackee patty because you're going to be upset lol. Now it's tasty so I'm not mad at that but price point wise it's a bit too rich for my blood. My girlfriend and I both ordered shakes which was really delicious. All and all out two shakes and the patty was $29 which to me is a lot !! We won't be coming here for daily shakes only when we are trying to splurge.

This is a really cute café that has gorgeous leather furniture, lighting fixtures, and cool plants everywhere, very modern looking. The music they play here is great too. I was a little disappointed to see that their food menu was quite limited, and by that time of day, there was really only one savory option that stood out to me, the Parmesan and leek pastry. I ordered this and had the barista heated up for me, as well as print out a receipt because this is how you access the Wi-Fi. I sat in the corner along the wall on a wooden bench and attempted to do work on one of the small metal tables. The tables are quite low, so this really isn't a great place to get a ton of work done in my opinion, as well as the fact that the Wi-Fi only works for 30 minutes and after that, you need to go back up and get another receipt for a code. I was also a little disappointed in the pastry itself, as it wasn't fully heated and was a little too greasy for me. I can't speak on the coffee here, but it did look like they provide high-quality options. Vibes and aesthetic are high but I can't say I'd come here again.

Their baked goods are the best--their buckwheat scone is mildly sweet and earthy. Their sandwiches can't be beat. I HATE BLT's. They are usually presented as triangles of toasted whole wheat bread with limp iceberg lettuce, barely a tomato and a sliver of bacon with too much mayo. Everything I do not want. But at Polly's...the humble BLT becomes an art form. They get the bread correct first of all--a delicious toasted ciabatta spread modestly with a gently garlicked mayo. Sharp, nutty micro greens and arugula instead of pointless iceberg, thick tomato slices, avocado and oh yes, bacon. That is a sandwich done right. This place is well beloved by the locals so it's best to arrive early if you still want that chocolate croissant!

With a focus on community and comfort, we provide a haven for locals and visitors alike to relax, recharge' As my curiosity leads me to explore new coffee places, the one common thread I see is the focus on community. The cafes, coffee bars and eateries who recognize the need to connect are the real entrepreneurs. Polly's Cafe patrons are sipping coffee drinks made with La Colombe and devouring Balthazar pastries. As I waited to order my cold brew, the conversations ran the gamut from school, work, summer travel plans, catching up. I know I sound like a broken record, but today it is so much more than just grabbing a cup of coffee. It is unwinding, savoring each sip and bite with a friend or partner and just enjoying the connection. Polly's Cafe reminds me of a cafe one would find in the Hudson Valley: small, quaint and offering high end food. The interior is cozy, a few tables and a backyard garden. The menu packs a small punch: hot/cold beverages, breakfast burritos, BLT, salads and so much more. I waited around 10 minutes to order a cold brew, the pastries (croissants: chocolate, everything, goat cheese and herb, ham and cheese, butter, sticky toffee banana bread, chocolate babka crumb cake, brownies)were sold out and only olive oil cake remained. ( I arrived @2pm) I made a mental note to revisit to pack a few goodies to go for a future BBG visit. I don't go to coffee shops, and I was reminded why…read more Drinks: 1/5 We ordered the Espresso Shot 1 and the Chai Latte. The Espresso Shot 1 was unexpectedly sour like the kind of sour you expect from expired coffee. There are special notes including rhubarb, so maybe that was on us to order this shot, but we didn't expect a beef jerky-like aftertaste. My friend could not finish it, so I asked for a replacement shot--the Expresso Shot 2--and the staff were kind enough to offer it to us free of charge. This shot was also just as sour, with notes of passion fruit. There are no other espresso shot options, and both shots are $5-6 each. The Chai Latte tasted just like the concentrates I would get from supermarkets. When I finished my cup and peered at the bottom for any spice residue, I found the grainy texture you'd find in said supermarket concentrates. Service: 4/5 The people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. For a busy coffee shop, they were prompt in fulfilling any special request, such as an expresso shot replacement. Atmosphere: 2/5 This is a cute coffee shop with a warm interior! It has a modern and cozy aesthetic, and it was very pleasant to sit here for half an hour. We were fortunate to even have seating, though, because there was a line out the door and not enough tables for all patrons. The tables were low to the ground and close to other tables. I would recommend this place to people who need a quick shelter from the cold. I wouldn't recommend the drinks to anyone, and the line is not worth it. Final rating: 2.33/5 (rounded down to 2 on Yelp)

They carry beans from DAK Coffee Roasters, which is one of my favorite roasters from Amsterdam, along with Sey Coffee and other roasters known for their high-quality beans. I grabbed a bag of DAK beans, which came with a free single-origin drip. It was honestly great for drip -- clean, not watery, and nicely fruity and juicy. It was pretty busy, so I skipped the pour-over this time, but I'd definitely come back to try it on a calmer time of the week. If I'm looking to stock up on good beans, I know I'll be back at Villager.

It's been pretty humid, so I got a caffe ghiacco (apologies for the spelling if that's incorrect) and a breakfast sandwich. The coffee was absolutely refreshing! It was an iced espresso with almond milk. Simple ingredients but of high quality. And I liked that it wasn't overly sweet. The breakfast sandwich was yummy, too. It was a soft boiled egg sliced in half with cream cheese on focaccia. I get eggs are expensive, but for the price of $13, I wish it had a little more like sliced tomatoes included. You could add meat or avocado for an additional cost. There's a few seats inside, and plenty more outside. The back patio has plenty of tables for 2 people, and a few out front. The group tables are inside. I sat in the back, but noticed a bunch of mosquitos coming out from a crack in the wall, so I moved to the front. I'm one of those who attract mosquitos, so if you're like me, then sit inside or out front. The ambiance on a workday is pretty quiet. Many of the patrons have laptops and were taking work calls. There's a sign stating no laptops on weekends, which is nice. And the people who work there are friendly and efficient. My order came out quickly. I recommend this place if you're nearby and want a really good cup of coffee.
