We came for my birthday weekend this October and stayed at the Sunset Falls Chalet! It was private and on the edge of a cliff, so we booked it immediately after seeing it. They allowed animals too, so we got to bring our dog which made her sooooo happy. The house was stocked with all the kitchen amenities you need to cook, bake, spit-roast (kidding), including a fridge and all dish-ware. There is a small grill outside, but you need to bring your own charcoal. And bring all your own cooking supplies like oil, salt + pepper. I expected the bed to be bleh, but it was genuinely extremely comfy - and I'm high maintenance about mattresses. There's extra bedding in the closets too! The hot tub was also a great add-on since there's really no place for a fire pit being on a cliff. The view was absolutely amazing also. BOOK HERE!! read more

Spouse and I had to have a change of scenery and have some alone time or we were going to start crying and not stop. We stayed in the Beary Cozy cabin. The decor was as kitschy as you'd expect, but the place was wonderful. We used the hot tub daily after being assured the water was fresh and chlorinated. The electric fireplace made us laugh with all the color combos and it kept us warm. The kitchen has a great cookware selection and reliable appliances. We used both outdoor seating areas: a cantilevered open balcony and a padded one under a tin roof. There was a mouse and maintenance was very responsive. We stayed 4 nights and brought our own food. We saw people from a distance. It felt safe and...beary cozy. read more

My stay was over Thanksgiving 2020. I did not personally make the reservation and had no direct contact with the rental company. We had a nice time, but that was mostly about the company. Get the negatives out of the way: The driveway is *so* steep. Steep is to be expected in this area, but hoo boy....I had an SUV at the time, and I was even worried about that (I can't recall which specific cabin we were in....but just to say be ULTRA prepared if weather is a concern). There wasn't any laundry detergent, and the check out rules asked that towels be run through the wash. If that is a requirement....maybe provide the cleaning materials. We also had to go out and buy dish soap for the sink and for the dishwasher. You're welcome, future guests (until what we bought and left there runs out!) We kinda thought those would be available for a cabin with a full kitchen. We struggled with having a shortage of some kitchen/dining ware for the number of people we had in the cabin (despite it being fewer than what the property can accommodate). And most distressingly, we had a minor cooking mishap where something in the oven caught on fire, at which point we discovered that there was not a fire extinguisher on the property. Seems distressingly dangerous and unsafe! We kept our cool and were able to diffuse the situation safely and without property damage. But it was STRESSFUL. The plus points: Location, location, location. It was big enough for our group, with enough bathrooms for the many folks. Having a stand up shower on the lower level would have been the most ideal, but we survived. A "working" hot tub is not guaranteed on their properties, according to the listings (....then why have hot tubs if you can't maintain them...) but the one at our cabin was functional, worked well, and was a joy to have and be able to use during our stay. The views were lovely, the wrap around porch was a highlight, and we had a lovely get away despite some complaints. read more

First off - thanks for saving our vacation! 5 star cabin rentals have great customer service. After another company didn't have our cabin ready on Memorial weekend, this place rushed around to get some rooms ready for us at the Black Bear Lodge. Though it wasn't a cabin they still came through for us on a very busy weekend to ensure we had a comfortable place to lay our heads at night. And for this they get an extra star ;) Not sure I'd stay at the lodge again, but if we HAD to we would. I would love to check out their cabins for next time!! **Review for the lodge: The lodge is like a log cabin hotel. They had a fire pit that was shared by all the guests out front with wood stump stools. It was really quiet, so felt like we were in the woods at night. The rooms were just OK for me. They did their best to give them a 'rustic' feel, but the double was a little 'cozy' for 4 people. Thank goodness we all liked each other ;) The showers were hot, so after a day of climbing that was nice. There is no room service (ie, you'll have to make your own bed each day if that's what you like). They had a little mini fridge, an AC, and a ceiling fan. Not much room for bags and no dressers to put stuff away to make more room. But overall, no bad really. read more

We stayed in the "Whispering Lodge" cabin for about a week in March, and had an overall good experience. The other cabins rented out by Natural Bride Five Star Cabin Rental look nice as well. Our cabin came equipped with an outdoor hot tub and an indoor jacuzzi. Nice additions. The cabin also had a strong wireless connection and a t.v. with cable. Our cabin also had two caves on the property which were fun to explore. We were very close to the Natural Bridge hiking trails, but it is necessary to drive to the trails by car. We were also just an hour outside of Lexington so it was easy to take a day trip into the city. I'm giving the cabin four stars because there weren't any hiking trails that we could access by walking from our cabin. Otherwise, everything was great! read more

The cabin itself was everything it was described to be. Very clean, everything you could need was there and we really enjoyed the firepit and hot tub, especially after a full day of hiking. We rented 9/15-17 for a few days of hiking and R & R. Although this was larger than what we needed, we chose Five Star because they said on their website "we're cleaning our little hearts out for you". This was most important to us because of COVID-19. It was a beautiful location. There is no lighting over the sink/stove/counter area...just a dim overhead about 4'away. When I moved the sofa to unplug a table lamp to use in the kitchen, the dirt and dead bugs behind the sofa were disgusting. Roaches were in the kitchen cabinets and drawers. Rodent droppings behind the fridge. I washed each dish and utensil before each use. The closets were used to randomly "store" broken stuff and junk. They were not clean. The hot tub was a very welcome addition after a day of hiking, but was missing some parts, one of which we found in the planter. We bought firewood from the Rental office and could not keep it burning. It was too green. Even with the help of a lot of hot coals and lighter fluid! This could be a really nice cabin with a little updating and a lot of cleaning, "debugging". Lastly, when leaving, they asked how are stay was. When my husband told them that the cabin was not clean, they said, "sorry". I also left them a note in the cabin about the active roaches. Have not heard from them. read more

In regards to Cliff Eagle Cabin: Going Into the cabin the electronic lock doesn't work half the time or you really have to fight it for it to work. It was very obvious from the thick coat of dust noone cleans the floors. The Down stairs bath,  shower curtain is gross with mold. There is a slimey yellow ring around the tub, the toilet seat and toilet paper holder were broken. the air handler has about an inch of dust on it, the toilets in both bathrooms and the bathroom floors haven't been cleaned in so long the odor of urine is nasty and strong. In the cabin description they said there would be a disco light in the bedroom, no disco light. In some of the lamps there were no light bulbs the front desk set our alarm off leaving this blue flashing light to flash all night preventing us to sleep. I paid for a $50 cleaning fee only to arrive with nothing clean and all the rules in place for me to basically clean everything (including launder the sheets and towels.) Still trying to figure out where the cleaning fee goes.. both lights on the side porch do not work so i couldnt grill dinner while I was there because of it being dark at 5:30pm, a burner is out on the stove my mattress has been duct taped, as well as tooth paste soap scum and something else all over the upstairs vanity and walls. When I even started to report any of this to the girl at the front desk seemed like she was already aware and really didn't want to hear it again nor did she seem to give a damn. I left the cabin better than I found it and made sure i followed all rules and clean up procedures exactly how it was spelled out. I was not a loud or dirty guest by any means I have just never been to a place like this and my wife and I travel quite often.  I did their survey over two weeks ago and requested they contact me. I waited to post the review just in case they did contact me to make things right. Hasn't Happened, so it seems like they really don't care. read more

We just got back from "Rocky Top". We have stayed with 5 Star more times than I can remember and, save for a few hiccups here and there, have never really had an issue - until now. I'll start from the beginning. The steep road up to the cabin is partially concave. Luckily, we drove our Jeep, so we didn't have any trouble - but if we had driven our car, we would've been in trouble. No one advised us of this (although it's possible that it is in the fine print somewhere). The cabin is directly on the road, with the hot tub on the deck and directly facing the road. I could live with it if the cabin wasn't the first cabin you come to, but it is and, when the cabins are all booked, there's a lot of traffic. We entered the cabin and we're immediately hit with the odor of a no-tell motel. Not old and musty, diiiirty. Disgusting, actually. The entire cabin smelled this way - including the bed linens. The bathroom vanity drawers had obvious mouse nests in them. "It's the woods" I KNOW. But mouse nests in the bathroom drawers? Do they clean AT ALL? Same in the kitchen. The oven mitts were clearly chewed up for nesting material, and there was mouse poop and dead bugs in the utensil drawers- all over EVERYTHING. Everything in the whole place was just GRIMEY and gross. The hot tub lights did not work and the control panel was lifted up with the electronic components inside, showing. We opted not to use it, as we were afraid of an electrocution hazard. There was a panel on the back of the cabin that had been removed and was resting against the house. It was maybe 10 feet by 3 or 4 feet, and it left a gaping whole under the house (explains why the mice are so prevalent). When photographs were taken and shown to the personnel in the office, the management advised them that they would refund our "cleaning fee" (laughable) and process a 10% refund. We spent well over $600 on this garbage cabin, and they refunded us $105.50. We asked for a different cabin, but they were full. We spent $50 of that refund on new blankets and pillows for the bed bc theirs smelled so awful. It helped for a few hours, but eventually, the dirty smell of the mattress seeped through. I barely slept. So, you know, that affected the entire weekend. I will never, ever, ever book with this company again. Absolutely miserable trip. read more

We rented from Five Star about 6 years ago and they were great. We made a reservation for April 3 of this year (2020) and, again, they were great to work with on the phone. They are very nice people. For obvious reasons--coronavirus--we cancelled today (March 18). It is more than 14 days before our reservation so we get our money back MINUS THE 10% PENALTY FOR CANCELLATION. Some companies would have waived the penalty under the circumstances. The state of Kentucky has declared a health emergency. It is true I could have taken insurance but, honestly, it would probably have cost more than the 10% in this case. So I paid the penalty. I'm not whining and I'm not saying what they did was unethical. They followed the contract, even though there is a healthcare emergency. But if you are going to rent from Five Star in the future, this is something you should know. BTW, they are still very nice people. read more

Let's Get Cozy (Jeff's cabin) was a fantastic place to stay. Everything was clean and prepared. Everything worked properly. Great views and just hidden enough from everything. The only downside was the approximation to the other cabins. This cabin shared a drive way, complete gravel way off the beaten path driveway, that zig zagged through the hills up onto the cliffy areas that was under construction. This meant there e were private truck and trailers towing large amounts of lumber passing 50 feet up from the front door. Another cabin to the west pushed into the wilderness with a visible front window to cabin and a dull green aluminum roof. To far to care, just within eyesight. Overall we will be coming back. read more

The cabin we stayed at was very nice. The service we had form five star was very substandard. Very strict on the check in policy even though the cabin was 20+ minutes from the office. When we arrived at the cabin at almost an hour past check in time because we stopped to get some food, the cleaning staff was still working. We contacted the office and they were very uninterested in our issue. After more phone calls we finally had to go and knock on the door of the cabin to see how long the cleaning staff was going to be. At that point we finally had a conversation with upper management and they were not interested in doing anything to make things right for the hour we had to wait to get in to the cabin. Five star is not worth the trouble. Go and google the airbnb cabins. Much easier to deal with and they are much more caring. read more

The office is easy to find. The candlelight cabin was close to the office. Close to the Natural Bridge park and Red River Gorge. The cabin had a nice wrap around porch. No swing or rocking chairs outside. The fire pit area could use a little more seating. Previous renters left behind some wood which was nice for us. You can buy wood at the office or at many of the local spots in town. The kitchen was nice. Well stocked. We made great use of it throughout our weekend. Ice trays vs. ice maker but we had no issue with that. The family room was cozy. Gas fireplace was a plus. The leather recliner was nice. Couch wasn't all that comfy. The glider was nice but it needs some WD40. The cabin floors are uneven, slopes to the middle. The bathrooms were ok. The commodes "rocked" which was concerning. The showers had little water pressure. Could use some new caulk and scrubbing around the jets. The decor was pleasant. Beds slept well. The linen situation is mildly inconvenient as you are responsible for stripping the beds and placing linens in the wash before you leave. Laundry pod was provided. The towels must be washed before you leave. I felt like I paid enough to have this service covered. Doesn't deter me from renting from this company again. Will bring my own towels & kitchen towels next time. We played games by the fire. That was a welcomed change from staring at our phones (internet provided but I'll compare it to dial up days). The charcoal grill was your standard "park" grill but we grilled some delicious steaks on that charcoal grill! Overall, worth it because our dog was welcomed (after we paid extra ). That option alone means we will be back. Will try another cabin next time. read more

We stayed at the Peaceful Palace and the cabin was not very clean upon our arrival. Leaves throughout the kitchen almost like the door had been left open, dead wasps in the kitchen window, spider webs in the living room, and the dust was so bad my wife had allergy issues. There was mouse poop in the upstairs bathroom. More than half of the tiles in the kitchen floor were cracked or broken into pieces, to the point where we had to put a rug over them to prevent our toddler from cutting her feet. Every time you turn the water on in the sinks or the shower, the drain smells were DISGUSTING. Our family of four was unable to shower during our stay because of how unbearable the smell was in the bathrooms. We tried to run the water to maybe flush out the lines but it seems to be a sewer/drains issue and it only got worse the longer the water runs. It is advertised to have Wifi and the hot tub but upon arrival, in the fine print it basically scares you to use either of them. Threatening a charge of $50/day if the kids were to watch some youtube videos, ....or the "use at your own risk" on the hot tub. Not to mention the dirt(mud) coming off of the cover and into the tub when we removed it. Our cabin was 20 minutes away from the 5 Star office, with very steep hills, half way graveled, some not even with gravel. Our vehicle couldn't make it up the last few hills to the cabin and we ended up having to make multiple trips to get luggage, two kids under 4, approx 300 yards up hill. The last time we stayed with 5 star, our cabin was up the hill behind the office and that's what we were expecting this time. We understood there would be hills to drive up and that it would be out in the woods but this was much more than that. I spoke to a lady in the office before making the reservation and none of this was explained to us. We weren't told about the distance the cabin was from the office, the wifi basically being unavailable, or the hot tub being a risk to use. Because of the road into the cabin being in such bad shape with parts of it being sand/dirt hills, we were unable to leave the cabin all weekend because of the high probability of us not being able to get back in or out. We drove almost 4 hours and didn't get to take the kids to Natural Bridge, the Sky Lift, or any other activities around the area until after we left Sunday. No response from the office when I emailed them after our stay. read more

Recently rented one of their cabins for a quick 3 day weekend stay. Had the misfortune of arriving just in time to enjoy a rare Kentucky snowfall! Unfortunately due to the recent precipitation we weren't able to drive up the steep incline to get to our cabin (Mountain Rose at the top of the hill) and were forced to hoof it in with our luggage, food, etc... That said, overall we were impressed by both the cabins themselves, as well as the staff. Had an issue with our fireplace that they came out on a Sunday to try and fix. Couldn't get it to work ultimately, but really appreciated the attempt, as well as the discount on our stay they ended up offering to make up for it. Hot tub was awesome and the rooms were spacious enough for our whole family to stretch out in with tons of room to spare. The cabins were clean, comfortable, and a great relaxing home base to retreat from after exploring the trails around the area. Definitely looking forward to coming back sometime when the weather is better and would highly recommend you check it out as well! read more

We recently stayed at Sundance On The Lake. I spoke with Priscilla from 5 star cabins and she was the BEST, super nice, and the inside of the business is also a gift shop that had tons of neat items.The cabin itself was gorgeous, extremely secluded and right on the lake. Wifi was strong and the cabin had cable TV. The jacuzzi was enjoyable of an evening and the area was very quiet. I would most certainly use Five Star again as well as stay in this cabin, the only disappointments were that in the picture posted on the site it has a small boat pictured for use, but there was no boat during our stay, which we had looked forward to doing and it had a fish food machine stating how stocked and spoiled the fish were, but we never saw a fish. The lake was recently drained and refilled so this could be why no fish. I would however suggest possibly investing in at least a hand held can opener and possibly rugs to put in the bathrooms to prevent possible falls. For future visitors bring your own dishwasher pods, dish liquid and items such as these and be prepared the water smells like sulfur, so you may want to brink your own drinking water. The one thing I would have to bring to attention was the large piles of bird droppings directly in front of the main door from the huge mud nest way up high on the cabin, it would have been much more inviting to not have to walk over it to enter the cabin. Please do not take this review as negative as I would most certainly stay here again, I just hope these things are taken as ways to improve for future visitors. read more

What a weekend retreat to remember! We stayed at the Candlelight, which was perfect for my wife and I and our 2 young sons. Gorgeous views from the wrap around deck, beautiful interior and feature rich cabin. It was a great place to relax in the woods with all the creature comforts from home. We enjoyed the hot tub after our day in the trails too. Beds we comfortable, bathrooms were very clean, and the house had a lot of character. We felt right at home. The staff was excellent from check in, to following up after we got into our cabin, and to check out. Very close to Natural Bridge state Park, and RRG. We will most definitely be back soon. My oldest son has not stopped asking me when we can go back to the cabin. Can't wait for our next visit! read more

Cabin was supposed to be WiFi friendly & was told at check in it was, got to cabin & said WiFi was discontinued called & called ...never responded or took care of it instead avoided me and dodged me saying management would call me back. Never happened. There were board games but none had all the parts to it to play. Toaster was in kitchen but didn't work. Alarm clock in bedroom didn't work. Once they get your money & you get the rules of everything they will charge you for if you don't do, their done being friendly and helpful. Loved the area for hiking and seeing things but would definitely pick a different cabin rental company. Not worth the price at all and rude liars. read more

My husband and I have rented many cabins in the red river gorge. We rented Sunday Silence on thanksgiving and we quickly realized why it was one of the few cabins that was available. When trying to use the jacuzzi tub , we noticed the water was leaking from the faucet not to mention the hot water ran out prior to the jacuzzi tub filling. So the jacuzzi tub was a bust during our stay. Also the hot tub smelled very musty and the water had a green tint to it. We didn't notice the green color until the next day since it was dark when we arrived. So the hot tub also was a bust since the water was green and smelly . We paid 742$ for three nights and the two main amenities were not usable. read more

The bed, on the other hand, was terrible. It was completely broken in the middle so my boyfriend and I fell into each other night. Brittany, the "Vacation Specialist", was friendly & helpful, which is the only reason I'm not irritated that I can't give zero stars. We were going to book a cabin here for this coming weekend. The website states multiple times that they have pet friendly cabins for a $15 per pet fee. We have two very small, litter trained bunnies who would be STAYING in their cage. I thought I should call to book the cabin to see if maybe there would be a discount on the pet fee since they are 2 pound, caged bunnies and not some 30 pound dog that'd be shedding and drooling everywhere. Apparently when they say pet friendly, they mean DOG friendly only... so the website probably should be updated to state such. If it's ok to have a 35 pound dog running all over the cabin and pooping on the lawn, what's the big deal about a bunny in a cage? We were blessed with a last minute weekend off to celebrate our anniversary so imagine our excitement when we found a place that not only had cabins available still but it was also pet friendly. They would've gotten $350+ out of us, but instead it'll probably sit empty. So disappointing! read more

I stayed in August and had numerous complaints from housekeeping to Maintenance Issues as well as the cabins description saying private and secluded but they are located side by side. My husband and two friends rented Sunset Cabin over the weekend. We arrived to be told we may experience some bugs with it being in the woods. They were honest about the bugs, which had little to do with it being in the woods. This cabin has a real problem. I have lived in the woods my entire life and never encountered so many flies. We arrived to find hundreds of flies inside the cabin. Every morning we had to kill hundreds. The cabin was not clean. Cobwebs, bugs, and structural damage. Who ever built this cabin did not consider use of a level and possibly no sealant was used. I do not recommend renting. The only positive thing is the view. read more

We rented the Hide Out cabin, September 15 and 16, 2017. The office was easy to find and the girls working were nice. The cabin we rented had cockroaches. Upon arrival, we found 3 dead cockroaches in the bathroom. I assumed that the cabin had possibly not had anyone in it and cockroaches had been there for some time. The following morning, there was a live cockroach running across the kitchen counter. The 2nd morning, there more dead cockroaches in the bathroom. It was disgusting! When asked about our rental upon checkout, I politely informed the girl of the situation. I also wrote a note on the key return envelope. She told me that roaches were unacceptable and that she would call the owner to see if she could do anything. We NEVER heard back from 5 star rentals. read more

Stayed at Bear Scootin' Boogie and had a mice problem the first night. Not just 1, but 3, on the counters. They already knew this was a problem since there was a mouse trap down but the trap doesn't work and the cabin baseboards need fixed to prevent this. The non-smoking cabin had multiple burn holes in the tiny sofa. The furniture looked like 4th time hand me downs and the hot tub needed to be cleaned. I called to ask for a discount and when they attempted to call me back I was busy and there was no voicemail left and they don't answer after 5 pm. It was 179/ night and nowhere near close to being worth that price. read more

We stayed at Majestic Mountain View for Valentine's weekend in February 2016. The good: The cabin was large and looked very clean (looked) when we arrived. Kitchen was well stocked. It was nice having a pool table in a rec room and the TVs throughout. The hot tub seemed to work fine although it is small. The bad: The three exterior rooms at the cabin which included the master bedroom were unreasonably cold. I had to wear three layers of clothes, a hat and three pairs of socks to sleep. We alerted the main office which assured us they would fix it. However, the temperature in the entire cabin never got above 60 even for the "warm" rooms. The appliances like the dishwasher and washer and dryer did not work properly and we had to stay extra long the day of checkout in order to complete the washing tasks. Which was a miserable experience since it was brutally cold in the cabin and I could not wait to get into a warm car to leave. However, the worst thing of all was the bedbugs. My daughter and I came home with bedbugs bites on our face and hands. I know they are bedbug bites because it was the dead of winter and we consulted a doctor. We contacted this company and alerted them to the issues. At that time we found out that our oldest child left her jacket there. They offered to mail it to us for a $25 fee and assured us that they would "check into the bedbugs." Having heard nothing back and still not having received my child's coat for the fee we have already paid, I decided to write this review because I am concerned they will not correct these issues and I am still looking at bedbug bite marks on my face. The Mountain Rose cabin was beautiful! Very clean and nice cabin. The deck was great--lots of seating and a good view, though a little tree-obstructed. There was some road noise during the day but nothing you could hear inside. Natural Bridge trails are only about 2 miles away. The hot tub was great. Just wish there was a DVD player in the cabin :) Overall we loved every moment of our stay! read more

The staff at check in was extremely helpful and courteous. They had everything ready and in order. Great experience. Now the cabin was perfect. Clean, well maintained and above all peaceful. Our cabin was "Beary Secluded". We go to Red River Gorge annually but this was our first time using 5 Stat. We'll do it again!! Highly recommended. read more

We just got back today from a two-night stay in the "Paradise". From the outside, it was beautiful. But as soon as we stepped on the inside, we were greatly disappointed. The place needed some TLC to get it back into rental condition. For example, there was a pool table, but the 8 ball was missing and both cue sticks were broken. None of the outside lights worked. The back door would not open (the door closest to the hot tub, of course). Some of the outlet covers were just lying on the floor (real safe for the little ones). One of the tiles in the kitchen could be picked up completely. The frame for the futon was broken in half. When the upstairs shower is turned on, a small waterfall appears in the main level bathroom (Don't stand near the sink with an electrical apparatus in your hand or you'll be sorry). Lastly, the large windows in the living room leaked unbelievably Friday night. I had towels strewn across the floor trying to keep up with amazing amount of water pouring in from the storm. It was so bad I had to move my boys while they were sleeping just to keep them from being drenched. In addition to the poor workmanship, Five Star Cabin Rental policies are pretty pathetic. They only give you four towels and four pillows (the place sleeps six). You have to wash and dry the towels and wash the sheets. All of the trash has to be emptied and taken outside. I feel like they should pay me for all of the cleaning I had to do. Make sure you don't lock yourself out or they'll charge you $25.00 to get back in (by the way, the charge you $25.00 for many, many reasons). I understand they have to protect themselves, but they are on the extreme side when it comes to contracts. I have stayed in many chalets all over the country. Five Star Cabin Rental is by far the worst. I gave them two stars because the cabin did have two gas fireplaces that worked very well and the interior designing was very well done. One other piece of advice, if you have a four-wheel drive vehicle, bring it. You'll need it to get up the first 100 foot when you start climbing the hill that leads to the cabins. Oh yeah, don't forget to bring your toilet paper (since they can't even supply that). Pathetic... read more

We stayed at the Whispering Pine. I've stayed at many cabins in my life and this one was by far the worst! I spent my entire evening cleaning the cabin when we arrived. From pubic hairs in the shower and tub, having to make my own bed upon arrival, rodent pellets falling on my son's head from the ceiling, to my feet turning black from walking on the floor barefoot. This cabin was the dirtiest cabin ever. When I addressed it with the front desk, she responded kindly saying she would get with management. She also said that the second and third time. Upon return to our home, I emailed them and they responded with argument and sarcasm. Saying that they get reviews saying how clean the place is. I'm seeing other reviews that say how dirty it is. I requested a discount, that they should refund us what they pay thier cleaning people. But silly me!!! They CLEARLY don't pay cleaning people. They responded with, "Ok. We will not charge you a cleaning fee." The dirt was the worst part. If it was clean I could live with the other stuff. There is no view because it is in the woods. No clearing. Just trees when you look out. Which was not really an issue for us. The floor was sloped and some blinds and molding around windows were coming off and needed repair. Since I've stayed at so many cabins I can say with confidence that this was the least equipped cabin kitchen I've ever experienced. We won't be back nor will anyone we know. read more

This place is a damn joke. I told the woman I wanted a hot tub and she said the cabin had one. So I said okay, ill rent one. She tells me all the rules and hands me a sheet to initial. I asked if it covered everything she just went over. She said yes and I signed it and got my key. I get up to the cabin and the hot tub was cold. The heater was broken. There was a maintenance number but it was a 25$ charge just to call. Our cabin was dirty and still had someone elses clothes in the closet. We started seeing fines on everything. And made sure to take lots of pictures of all the broken things so we could save our deposit. It was terrible. The woman in the office is rude too. Dont even bother going here. read more

We stayed at Peaceful Palace and it was by far the worst stay that we have experienced (and we have traveled a lot including other cabin rentals in the area). The cabin was in such bad condition that we were forced to leave one day earlier than we planned (which was a loss of $250). It all started with the drive back to the cabin that involved steep hills and a creek that we had to drive through. We are thankful that we have a four wheel drive vehicle or else we would have gotten stuck. This wasn't even brought to our attention when booking the cabin! When we arrived at the cabin, the steps were crooked and unsafe, as one of us fell while carefully walking down them. The kitchen tile is cracked and appears that the floor is caving in near the front door. Definitely not safe to walk around with no shoes as the tile moves as you walk on it! The most disturbing thing about the kitchen is that there were mice feces on the cabinets and inside the drawers where the utensils are. You would think that the fecal problem in the kitchen would be the worst... nope! It was the smell of the water. The water in all sinks and both showers smelled like sewage and rotten eggs. So bad that we didn't take a shower for our entire stay because the smell was so nauseating. It smelled worse than the grand prismatic at Yellowstone! When we called to complain about the smell soon after we arrived, the lady at the front desk apologized and stated that she would send maintenance to the cabin to put something in the well to treat the water that would ultimately get rid of the smell. Instead, we had to call the front desk (spoke to Brittany) the next morning to complain a second time. Brittany had apologized and informed us that she would send maintenance out soon. We never witnessed maintenance arrive and had to call a third time for her to tell us that maintenance informed her that there was an issue with the well and to fix the problem, they had to dig in the ground to do some "heavy maintenance" and that they couldn't do that this weekend. She apologized but offered us nothing else to make the situation right; therefore, we were forced to drive 2 hours home on what was supposed to be our second night stay at the gorge. Here's a list of other things that are wrong with this cabin: They charge a cleaning fee but also provide a list of chores for you to do before vacating. I don't mind cleaning, but I do not appreciate being charged for something that I have to do. I felt that I was being threatened if I didn't clean properly or they would charge me an outrageous amount. Dust an inch thick all over the place. It's evident that the cleaning fee doesn't go to the right place! Cobwebs, dirt and bugs all over the deck. The deck off of the bedroom on main floor was so dirty that we couldn't even go out on it. The hot tub was something we were really looking forward to but could not enjoy because there were dead bugs and dirt inside the tub. The cleaning crew should not leave the cover open!!!! We spent a lot of time looking for the towels. When we finally found them, they were in the dryer and seemed to be 5+ years old. They only provided TWO towels in a cabin that sleeps FOUR. The decor and furniture was extremely odd and old. It gave the cabin an overwhelming uncomfortable feeling. The king bed that they advertise is actually two single beds put together. The blinds are old and broken. The grill on the outside was NOT clean did not appear to be sanitary for cooking. I do NOT and will NEVER recommend 5 star cabins! This quick trip was supposed to be a relaxing weekend before my boyfriend and I start our new jobs and it ended up being miserable. So thank you Rob and Lee (management) for the nightmare that we will not forget. read more

We stayed in Wild Turkey Roost. The cabin had everything we needed and is very close to hiking and off-roading trails. The only recommendation I have is, the cabin needs another couch on the second floor. It had enough beds to accommodate our 5 person family but we could not all watch a movie together...not enough comfortable seating. Also, it really needs new towels. The towels were thin and appeared to be very old. Despite this, we would consider coming back again. read more
