When I got to my cabin, they were right and I couldnt pull up there. I drove to the other cabin (Tranquility Falls) and ended up staying there for the wknd. Cabin in great shape and nessled up against limestone with a beautiful waterfall out back. Will def be coming back!

First, I want to say that I was laying here in bed so freaking relaxed and comfortable that I couldn't bring myself to roll over and get my phone but I wanted to write this review while I am in the moment. This hotel is amazing! It is so freaking cute. I am in love with it. Everything is extremely clean. The bed is so comfortable. The pillows are perfect. It has the cutest little mountainside lodge feel! The air conditioner works perfect. There's a ceiling fan and a fridge. It is perfect! And the price is killer and there is the most adorable little coffee shop bakery/store just down the street and there's a barbecue place right across the street. Tonight I sat out on my balcony and listened to the rain and the frogs and a creature was making funny sounds by the river, and a bat flew by chirping!!! It was perfect! I don't understand how anybody could rate this please anything other than five stars. The only weird little thing was that the light above my bed had to be unplugged from the wall to turn it off. Who the heck cares! That literally does not make this place anything less than still five stars! Get a room here, you will not regret it!!!! Update I slept like a baby! It was raining last night and you could hear the rain on the roof and it was so relaxing. The shower was nice and hot and great water pressure all around an absolutely excellent stay.

The overall condition of the cabin was poor. There were cosmetic issues with the interior and exterior. The interior work was not done well, the floor is unlevel, the cabinets are not installed correctly and the countertop isn't level and doesn't match up in the seams. The stairs to the lower level are narrow and the first landing area is soft. The bottom floor stays extremely cold and they have space heaters in the rooms to help with the temp. The downstairs bathroom was not constructed well, the light and fan switches are outside the room and the inside, where the switches use to be, behind the door, is covered with a scrap piece of wood. The showers are extremely small and not well lite. All the walls are covered with what looks like wood panels but they don't match up well and the wood trim around the ceiling were not installed correctly. The deck outside was not like the pictures and there are a lot of decking boards that need to be replaced. The cover over the deck wasn't there as in the picture. Also, the septic tank is under the deck and every time someone flushed the toilet it smelled outside. I had an issue with the grill while we were there and called the office with no response.

The cabin was clean and had lots of things we didn't expect (plenty of cooking utensils, dinnerware, dehumidifier, A/C, etc). The water pressure and hot water were excellent. There's a firepit close to the cabins. Unfortunately, we're city folk and weren't able to get the fire going. Maybe we should have YouTubed it! But it was nice that they had a storage tub full of chairs and a picnic bench. The entrance to the property can be easy to miss because it is at a steep grade, but Wendy and Craig emailed us very specific directions that we printed out and had no problems. Everything was great about our stay. Except for that wasp that wouldn't leave. We also booked a climbing tour through RRO. Dan was our guide and did an awesome job. Highly recommended if you are into climbing but don't have all the gear and/or experience to lead and set.

They allowed animals too, so we got to bring our dog which made her sooooo happy. The house was stocked with all the kitchen amenities you need to cook, bake, spit-roast (kidding), including a fridge and all dish-ware. There is a small grill outside, but you need to bring your own charcoal. And bring all your own cooking supplies like oil, salt + pepper. I expected the bed to be bleh, but it was genuinely extremely comfy - and I'm high maintenance about mattresses. There's extra bedding in the closets too! The hot tub was also a great add-on since there's really no place for a fire pit being on a cliff. The view was absolutely amazing also. BOOK HERE!!

The electric fireplace made us laugh with all the color combos and it kept us warm. The kitchen has a great cookware selection and reliable appliances. We used both outdoor seating areas: a cantilevered open balcony and a padded one under a tin roof. There was a mouse and maintenance was very responsive. We stayed 4 nights and brought our own food. Roaches, roaches and more roaches. At first I thought our standards might be too high. I was wrong…read more Upon arrival it was pretty obvious that the photos left out a lot. The swing on the boulder has virtually no path way and is very difficult to get to. The bedrooms were surprisingly eerie, the dishes were filthy and you could tell it hadn't been dusted in a long time. The shower needs recaulked and there is what appears to be black mold growing where it needs to be recaulked. The wood provided for $25 wasn't great and at no point could we get it to light. We did notice someone else had thrown the same wood piece burned like ours that they couldn't get to light on the side of the house. The stairs to get to and from the car aren't great. The ceiling fans with the lights only worked sometimes. One of the AC units didn't work at all. All of this isn't enough to make me give it two stars. After me and my dog were creeped out by the room on the first night I went to go sleep on the couch but there were too many bugs. It is the woods, so that's to be expected. But what I didn't expect was for me to go up to bunk with my friend in their bed and find a large dead roach that someone had stomped on and left previously. Having been grossed out by that we decided to do a bed bug check. They have no bed protection to prevent bed bugs, and we saw some red flakes on the mattress topper. At this point we both decided to sleep on the couch where we ended up sleeping the entire time. The next morning we went through all of our luggage one by one and bagged everything and carried it to the car one by one to not bring home roaches. This took up the entire day. We decided to reward ourselves with a soak in the hot tub which was the highlight of our trip. Then came the large live roach in the living room. We decided with everything packed up in the car and everything inside packed into bags to get out and see the gorge. Unfortunately for us this was the only day we experienced any of the gorge. We had planned to cook but were feeling uneasy about the roaches but decided I would make one good meal for us. I showered then my friend went to shower and the water ran out. I will say, the most wonderful maintenance man Stuart did his very best to make it easy on us. We were without water from about 8:30 pm till noon the next day. So obviously, no hot tub that night and by the time I had finished cooking and cleaning without water we were both exhausted- so we ended up sleeping (again we were sleeping on the couch) for most of the next day considering we couldn't shower until the water was back on. Stuart was at our place in 25 minutes at 9 pm once he was alerted of the situation. Every number I called led me to another number to call or text and we did get a text reply after the 11th call. We did notice earlier that day that a light under the porch was on before the water went out. It wasn't on previously so we have no idea who was there doing what during our one day out but it was creepy to know that someone had come by and been underneath the house. Stuart brought us two very large water jugs to hold us over and carried them up those stairs at 9 pm the night the water went out. He was back 3-4 times to check on us and update us about the water. He was so sweet, very considerate and we absolutely adored him. He is the reason I'm not giving 1 star and also one of the highlights of our stay there. Obviously it can be a little uncomfortable having a man come to your cabin at night but he was absolutely amazing and we TRULY appreciate how much he cared and updated us. Stuart gets 11/10 in our book! Once the water was back RRG offered us an extra night at a 'discounted rate.' At that point we were already only staying because we paid for it and were already trying to make the most of it. Between the roaches and the water outage, the time spent trying to light a fire and the time spent trying to sleep knowing there's roaches all around you it was a stressful, really crappy excuse for a cabin vacation. We considered leaving several times but toughed it out since we had already spent the time, money and effort to be there. We had a full schedule planned, in the end we only did 2 things we had on our agenda. I can honestly say this was the worst experience I've ever had staying in a cabin and we will never stay there again. We encountered 5 large roaches total. We stayed from Sunday night to Thursday at noon. I would not recommend these cabins ever. Stuart does deserve a raise though as he is awesome! We stayed at Boulder Springs.

BEWARE! In my…read moreopinion, the property managers are trying to take advantage of us. We moved an old weber charcoal grill from the yard to the porch so we could grill while it was raining. Now they are claiming we dug the grill out of the yard and that the grill is broken (complete b.s.) and that we are going to be charged $150 to replace a leg on it. An absolute money-grab, in my opinion. We left that grill exactly as we found it. EDIT: Here are two Instagram posts that clearly show the exact grill and cabin in question from February 2017 (Over five months prior to our visit). It was through this search that we found the Birdsong cabin, managed by StayOver, in Slade, Ky. All in all, we were very happy with this cabin. It was clean, well stocked and generally as advertised. It ticked off all the boxes. I particularly loved the view from the patio. The management was also quick to respond when we had questions, such as what cooking utensils would be available in the kitchen. We had a couple of small hiccups, but each were quickly remedied. The entry code wasn't the code that given to us or the last four digits of my phone number, which I was also told it would be. But a quick call to the office fixed all of this. Also, we did not know ahead of time that there would be a one-room cabin in the backyard of this cabin. From the glass doors in front, we could see there was a bunkbed inside. We had wanted to get in the hot tub, which was not too far from this tiny house, but when we saw that the lights were on inside, we chose not to, lest a stranger come up and scare us. The only thing I would change would be including a mention of this house on the cabin listing. Again, these hiccups were small, and we would gladly stay at this cabin again or rent again from StayOver.

We had a very unpleasant and disappointing experience with StayOver Cabin Rentals. We had a…read morereservation for 3 night stay for 6 of us over Easter weekend. We made the reservation months in advance and everything was paid and confirmed. On the day of the reservation, 4 hours before our check-in time, I got a message stating that our reservation was being cancelled due to a leaking pipe at the cabin and they don't have anything else available to offer us. I called the company and spoke with Darah from StayOver. I explained to her that we are on the road already with family visiting from Canada (who drove to the US to spent the holiday with us) and asked her to help us find a some kind of solution or help us book another cabin in the area. The response was "sorry, we can't do anything for you, you figure it out yourselves." While we understand that issues can arise, the absence of accountability or any effort to resolve the situation made our experience with StayOver Cabin Rental extremely disappointing. We won't be booking with them again.
