So Cal Arborists removed a large, invasive-rooted sweetgum tree in my courtyard. It was between my…read morehouse and a low wrought iron fence, and my garden. They did a fabulous job! Didn't hit the roof or the fence, or damage my shrubs. They removed the roots (some were as large as the trunk!) and ground down the stump. Raked all of the debris, including sweetgum balls that bounced all over the yard, and swept up everything. Left me with a tidy layer of sawdust mulch spread neatly and evenly across the area. The crew were respectful and hard workers. The entire job was finished in about 2-1/2 hours! They are licensed and insured. I was pretty anxious about the job and the cost, but watching them work safely and efficiently was fascinating, and my confidence grew very quickly. Debated about having them only remove the tree, but it turned out that having them remove the roots was worth the price! I'm really glad I did that! Obdulio is the one who started the company about 35 years ago, and he semi-retired last year. His son Alex is running the company, while Obdulio does estimates. Roberto climbed the tree and did the cutting, while the other guys eased the limbs to the ground, cleaned up and processed what he cut down. They were a great team.

"WITH KNOBS ON" (as they say in Great Britain!)…read more After Hurricane Debby's heavy rains in Manatee County, the ground on my property became thoroughly saturated and the roots of my 70-foot-tall Norfolk Pine Tree began to loosen. When this occurred, the enormous tree began to LEAN. This was definitely an EMERGENCY SITUATION since it was abundantly clear that the tree could EASILY fall and DEMOLISH the home of my neighbor to the east. I contacted several tree services immediately but the first two who came out said they were afraid to attempt the work since the tree was so close to the houses. They said it was not possible to get a cherry-picker-type machine into the back yard to lift their workers up to the top of the tree. I was then VERY fearful that NO tree company would be able to help me and felt that the tree would surely fall on the house of my neighbor. But SAM'S TREE SERVICE said they could do the work, arrived on time, were professional beyond belief, and performed feats I would not have imagined possible. I have never, ever seen workers who were more thoughtful. One worker CLIMBED the 70-foot tree, cutting off limbs as he ascended, and my heart was pounding as he reached the top and began to cut down the enormous tree trunk a little at a time. The workers on the ground made certain the heavy limbs came down safely, tethered to heavy ropes. Not one other tree on my property was damaged by the falling limbs. All birdbaths and concrete benches, heavy planters, etc., had been moved by the workers to safe locations before the work began. All the enormous, heavy pieces of the trunk of the tree (and all branches) were removed and placed in the SAM'S company truck and hauled away. These men even raked the area afterwards and carried away ALL the debris. In my opinion, THIS tree service is the ONLY one I would call or recommend in future. The workers were here for 6.5 hours and worked like Trojans. I not only paid the fee for the work but I also gave each of the 3 workers a one-hundred-dollar tip. I will be FOREVER GRATEFUL to this company. THANKS AGAIN, SAM'S TREE SERVICE. I have never been so relieved IN MY LIFE!
