Very nice store with a great selection. Every time I need something specific I've found it here. They are pricey though. I've been to this location twice. The first time the checker was very friendly and offered me a box to carry my things. This most recent time wasn't quite as friendly. An employee went to lunch without telling anyone and so there was a long line at the checkout (it was still moving smoothly). The manager (?) was yelling at the checker about how the other one needed to tell when he was going (like it's up to the other employees?) and yelling about how she wasn't psychic. It was definitely awkward for the customers and put a damper on an otherwise pleasant trip. Then when it was my turn to check out, the checker put my stuff on the counter for me to carry, even though there were several items, mostly glass, and even though he had boxed up the items for the two girls before me. Annoying, but I boxed up my things myself. There was another employee who spent a long time helping an older gentleman with his questions, which was nice. read more

I love this little gem of a grocery. Great produce and super selection of stuff for my vegetarian hubby plus "friendly " meats for the rest of us. I am always greeted when I walk in the door. If more than 2 people get in a line, the checker calls for back up. I try to buy my milk, eggs, meat and vegetables at Natural Grocers. I usually can find just about anything I need there. It's so quick to get in and out. Don't forget your bags or you will be going home with boxes. They do not provide bags. read more

I have been there 5 times. I like their organic egg selections and they have great prices on organic milk and etc... But the other day, they said their banana truck did not come so they did not have any bananas. Today, they had bananas but they were really old and nasty. If you have any interest at all in eating better, more natural, more organic, this is the place to go. My husband and I have frequented Whole Foods for years. We have much less need to go there now. As a matter of fact, I haven't been to a Whole Foods in months. As someone else noted, Natural Grocers is small compared to the big chains, but it is amazing the selection they have. We recently needed regular, not whole, spelt flour... done! We needed a quick source of pastured eggs... done! We have been experimenting with the Eat Fat, Lose Fat philosophy, which says that the lipid hypothesis is bunk and was pushed on the American public using VERY faulty studies, studies that indicated saturated fats are bad for you. This is how our diets became so loaded with trans fats. Hello! As a result, we eat bacon now on a regular basis. And they have some of the THE BEST bacon. If you're used to eating the well knowns, like Hormel, you owe it to yourself to try some Niman Ranch or Pederson's Hickory Smoked Bacon. You WILL NOT be disappointed. But, back to Natural Grocers. If you're a child of the seventies, like myself, you will feel a little like you've gone back in time, but in a good way. There are always staff there ready to help you out and not only that, THEY'RE actually FRIENDLY too! How often do you find that these days? And I'm still having trouble figuring out how a much smaller chain does it, but it's true what someone else said, the prices there are typically better, often significantly better, than the chains. For balance's sake, I'll throw in one issue. I was told that as long as they carry a brand, they can usually order something, from that brand, that they don't have. I put in a request for some Spectrum Naturals Coconut Oil, the expeller pressed variety. They never got back to me. In their defense, I did not make them aware that I had not received a response. That's really all I can say. They're awesome! PS...Bring your own bag, but even if you don't, they have boxes they'll put your groceries in. No biggie. read more

One star to Yelp for not having a way to avoid duplicate listings! Boo! 5 stars for this place. It looks small at first, but when you get inside it's amazing at how much stuff they actually have. Unlike Whole Foods, who some may claim has a much larger selection, you don't usually need to read the ingredients on the packaged goods to see if it's got stuff in it you wouldn't want in your body. And when I pick up some produce, no checking for signs that say "conventional". And did I mention that there's this honey sunflower seed bread by Heartland there (they're from Plano) that is nearly orgasmic? Well, if I didn't, it's cuz I'm stuffing my mouth with it as I write this. Does bread make you fat? Bring it on. The meat selection isn't fantastic, but, really, I bet a large portion of this store's clientele doesn't eat meat anyway. The store pretty much just has some frozen stuff, but I am willing to bet it's grass fed, free rangy type stuff that makes animals happy before they get their heads lopped off. I should note that they did have some fresh free range chicken. The staff is so friendly that when my wife wrote a review for this store one of the owners wrote an email to her thanking her. I'm thrilled that this store is in Cedar Park, which doesn't exactly feel like the epicenter of the health food movement. My only concern is if the Cedar Park area will support a store like this. read more

I get all my bulk spices, beans, mixs, flours, etc here. I have multiple food allergies (including all grains) so for some items my only other option is mail order or Whole Food$. Really good prices on bulk! Good prices on organic produce, and I always check for the discount produce for freezable items. Good dairy and freezer case. Since they take coupons, I always check their sales and the online coupons from the unique snack and food companies that you find only in health food stores. Staff is always helpful. read more

Finally! The north suburbs got a great natural food store! We went today, the first day the store was open. The store was well stocked and prices looked similar to HEB (for the things that both stores carried). I felt pretty good about the things they sell, lots of good, organic foods, and a few hard to find items. I noticed they had umeboshi, for one. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. (Of course I tried to remember all those less common ingredients found in a few recipes I want to try). The store was clean well organized. read more

Something's wrong with their food. I've bought milk here on 4 separate occasions when I was in a pinch and didn't have time to go to Whole foods. The first 3 times the milk spoiled on or before the expiration date. The last (and it will be the last) the milk smelled & tasted like plastic. I buy a gallon a week of the same brand from W.F. and have never had a problem. Natural Grocers did refund me for the 4th gallon but just suggested I try a different brand when I told them about all the problems. The eggs, again, same brand we normally buy from W.F., have seemed less fresh and tasted a little strange. The last straw was tonight, I opened a new bottle of salad dressing from here and the cap was not tight, the opening was clogged with congealed dressing that smelled like rancid oil, and there was sticky stuff, like it had leaked, on the outside of the bottle under the plastic seal. I don't know if they're buying discount food that didn't pass QC or what, but I'm not buying any more spoiled food from this store. read more

I have several food allergies so shopping is difficult for me. This store has great organic fresh and packaged products. I do mostly fresh, but some supplements and packaged, too, and it's great quality. Because I"m allergic to milk and soy, most packaged foods at the major grocers are out of the question, as are bread products. I have a selection of bread to choose from, and coconut and almond dairy substitutes (even cultured coconut like yoghurt) so I can add some rice protein and berries and have smoothies! They have free range eggs (not fed soy) and, in general I can stay further away from GM foods. They even carry the only energy bars I can eat--Tanka Bars! (no soy, no whey, no peas). They also have a nice selection of health and beauty products so I've found nice shampoos, conditioners and soaps. I LIKE it! read more

Called on Wednesday spoke to supplement individual that I could come in 10am to 3pm , to accommodate their own available schedule. Went to store yesterday , Thursday. it was a fast 8 min conversation she was too, too, busy to schedule appointment or to offer future date options. I do not plan to shop there anymore there are other stores with better service and who will stand behind a service that is promoted. read more

We love Natural Grocer, they are so much easier to go to than crowded Whole Foods- I love Whole Foods, but they ARE crowded, and pretty expensive. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they don't quite have all of the "odd" stuff I like to get- bones for stock, yogurt starter (although they do have other culture starters), liverwurst. They have a great bulk section though, plenty of kombucha, pastured eggs, and nearly everything you could want to make personal care products, including beeswax. read more

Our favorite grocery store! We need to purchase gluten free and organic items weekly and find their prices to be better than any other store, consistently. It is small enough that you can get through quickly and find exactly what you need, but not so small that you feel cramped when browsing the aisles. Their sales are particularly good. They do not provide any bags, so bring your own or use one of their many empty product boxes. read more

Natural Grocers carries the VERY BEST BREAD in the world (and I'm not kidding). Randalls used to carry it but for some odd reason, they don't have it anymore. The bread is called Heartland and is made near Dallas. They have a variety of different types but I'm partial to the Oat and Honey Wheat, although they are all fantastic. You will definitely NOT be disappointed... I absolutely guarantee it. The bread is completely natural without any preservatives or additives you can't pronounce or don't want to put in your body. Although Cedar Park is not that close to me (I'm in Lakeway), I would drive even further in order to purchase this UNBELIEVABLE bread. LOVE IT!!!! read more

I'd been meaning to check this store out for several months now, and especially when I saw a job listing on Monster for a Nutritionist position (not for this location, however). The position required that you have your Bachelor's degree in some line of nutrition or health education field, which is right up my alley. Since I wanted to check the place out anyway, I figured I could kill two birds with one stone and see if it would be a place I could see myself employed in. When you walk in you make a quick left and are immediately at the check out counters. They offer boxes for your groceries and there are also green bags for purchase since they do not bag your food with plastic at all. That's great with me. The produce is to the left, which looked like a beautiful selection of organics. Making my way through the store, I noticed the position I was interested in actually "going down" with an employee and customer. Basically they have people who stock as well as give out nutritional information? I know, kind of hard to believe since I don't know ANY grocery store position that requires a Bachelor's degree. I'm not positive if ALL of the employees do in fact have their degree but at least it's good to know that at least one person does. Not to imply that the other workers are lesser than the one with the degree, I just think that's a great idea on the store's part. I mean, wouldn't YOU like to know that a person working in the pharmacy of your local store has their degree in what you put into your body? I feel nutrition is the same, and because of this, I'm giving this store 4 stars even though it's super tiny and the selection wasn't the biggest I've ever seen. I needed some gluten free products and the first time I went into Natural Grocers, I was overwhelmed by the new gluten free diet. However the staff were very friendly and eager to help. They even have a nutritionist that is always in the store and ready to help. She was helpful in giving me suggestions on what to buy, since I really wasn't familiar with any of the things like potato starch, brown rice flour, tapioca flour, etc. Another man helped me find a gluten free bread according to what was his best seller. It wasn't crowded and the prices were reasonable. They keep the store very clean also. read more

As someone mentioned previously, the prices are a bit higher but they do carry many items that are hard to find, therefore I'm willing to pay the extra cost. The staff is super friendly. I frequent the Cedar Park store regularly and it has been a big help to as my son has a serious disease and requires a special diet. However, they seem to run out of items a lot, so I try to stock up on things he needs when they have them. I am very disappointed in their Sunday staff. One young man at the checkout last week acted like he was hungover and miserable and was not friendly or helpful at all. I found it to be Unusual and I was surprised. This a.m. I called about a specific product and after describing it to the girl who was not familiar with it....I simply stated that's ok...is was a pretty well known product and if she wasn't familiar with it, they likely didn't carry it. She told me I was being rude. Really? perhaps I sounded a bit on edge since my son Was lying in the next room moaning in pain. I don't know. I hope that NGCP pays more attention to training their people so that folks can have a pleasant experience every time, not just on certain days of the week. read more

Today was my first visit to a Natural Grocers... ever! This location is just about the same distance away as the one at Arbor Walk, but I chose to venture to this one in Cedar Park first. Overall, the visit left a good impression. It reminded me of a natural market my mother-in-law takes me to in almost-Oregon, California. I appreciate the small size of the produce department, as it has lots of variety, mostly local, and ALL organic. The prices are actually quite fair, if not a little less expensive that the larger supermarkets. The quality is also impressive. Everything looked perfect! They also carry Texas Daily Harvest Non-homogenized, low-temp pasteurized, cream-top milk, which automatically makes the NG shops at least in the top 10 of my heart. Next best thing to raw in my opinion. I picked up some local organic ground beef for about $6 a pound just to try, as well as some local kielbasa to sample. The "bulk" section is really pre-weighed/priced spices and teas in plastic baggies, but such awesome prices for what you get. The trick to getting the good prices is to get what's in season. Isn't that a part of the "go organic/local" mantra? Next time, I'll venture to the NG at Arbor Walk just to compare. Then onto Wheatsville and seeing if I'll ever set foot again in Natural Grocers. read more

The produce on a Monday was terrible and they told me it didn't come in until Tuesday. Prices were very high. I'm not going back.

They are so helpful in this store. Everyone seems knowledgeable and their selection, especially of supplements, is so big you likely need help unless you are always in there. They only have one facing (usually) of an item so they have a huge selection of items even though its not as big as other grocery stores. The toiletries area has good selection too. They are very good about returns if you get something that doesn't work out for you. Good products and great service. What more could you want from a business?? Besides of course the huge organic chocolate bar section right near the register. read more

Just wish their warehouse where they package their bulk items would separate gluten items from gluten free items so that we could buy them. Hopefully they will some day. Still love going there. Don't let the size of the store fool you. They have an awesome selection of food, vitamins and all the basics you need to clean around the house. Their prices beat Whole Foods and Sprouts by a mile and all fruits and vegetables stocked are organic. Love this little store, it's where 90% of my food money goes. read more
