This is definitely not the sort of store I would expect to find in Ogden, but get it Ogden! I really hope they do well because, although I don't live in the area, I visit often enough that I'm happy to have this as an option for groceries. They have some great things! I discovered REAL wasabi powder here. Did you know the majority of wasabi in the US is actually horseradish? Like 95% or something. I've been searching for real wasabi FOREVER! They also had other cool Asian cuisine (and potentially difficult to find) items like agar agar, bonito flakes, pickled ginger, etc. Their chocolate selection was fairly expansive, including "natural store" staples like Chocolove and Divine along with some local brands such as Chocolate Conspiracy and Ritual. Yay for supporting them! Additionally, they have a great selection of prepackaged bulk products, a small-ish produce section that includes fancy dried mushrooms, and a ridiculous amount of vitamins and health supplements (it feels like half the store, though that may be stretching things a bit). There are marked down items for sale displayed on the west wall of the store. The employees were friendly and helpful, and, though the line for check out was long, as soon as that happened they opened another register.

It's a Colorado store so most of the products and dairy are from CO - which I love.

I saw on…read moreFacebook that they were doing some really cute valentine candy bouquets, so we decided to pick some up for our kids. First, there was a really fun photo op outside. They had a ginormous chair we could take photos in, so we took full advantage of that :) This little store is chuck full of food and items made locally. They have produce, candy, ice cream, soda, beer, lotions, coffee, dog treats, decor and everything in between. In the back they have a vending machine where you can buy Bingham Custom Meats bacon bombs. We haven't used it yet, but it looks so awesome! The employee there was a rockstar! She helped us figure out our candy bouquets and made them look awesome! The kids absolutely loved them and I think we're going to need to do this again. Maybe the husband and I will get one for ourselves too next time.

However, much of the products that our local grocers stock may also carry implications of poor farming practices. So, we try to shop local, both to ensure peak freshness and the highest ethical standard we can. Better Food Farm is a local, Ogden-based family farm using organic practices. We were lucky to try a large haul of a variety of their leafy greens (including herbs, spinach, red leaf lettuce, salad spring mix, spring onions, bok choy, and the most vibrant gorgeous radishes you've ever seen) this past week. If you think you won't be able to taste the difference between their spring mix and the kind in the plastic clamshells you get at the store, you'll be in for a serious surprise. Everything was incredibly flavorful. Also, there's something about fresh radishes that "conventionally" grown radishes can never live up to (I put conventional in quotes because, well, according to history, modern growing practices are anything but conventional). I swear you can taste all the passion and care this family puts into their produce. In speaking with the family behind this little farm, they're going to be at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market so I recommend that you look for them there.

I'm currently obsessed with these turnips. They are juicy... sweet... buttery? Yup. Buttery. Careful, you might have a hard time going to the grocery produce section after this.

The guy who we have seen at this fresh market pharmacy when we pick up our medication's always…read moreseems like we are inconveniencing him not friendly doesn't give eye contact, and today I couldn't get any help from him with my prescription that the doctor continues to refill because I have an issue that is very painful. There is absolutely no patient advocacy, and if you have prescriptions for opioids, do not go here they are very prejudiced. We get looked at with very ugly stairs from the male pharmacist when we pick up our buprenorphine. I guess he would rather us go overdose on heroin, then get actual recovery treatment. I'm suffering with a very painful injury to my muscle. It's called piriformis and it can last up to 10 years and it's very painful. It is a disorder with the glute muscle from it being overworked that causes you not to be able to sit at all! I have lost a lot of weight due to my Crohn's issues so my muscles are not able to support themselves I suffer from Crohn's, which causes me to end up with bile in my mouth if I lay down flat at night on my back or stomach so that means I have to sleep setting up. So I have to sit in order to sleep. I was written 90 of the 5 mg Flexeril From the Ogden clinic along with some anti-inflammatories the Flexeril were so mild that I had to take three at 2 PM when my pain started hurting in order to get any relief combined with two Celebrex. And then at 10 o'clock when I'm getting ready for bed, I have to take four in order to go to sleep otherwise I don't sleep. I am having to sit directly on an already irritated muscle, and this pharmacist thinks that I just have all the time in the world to waste and wait on doctors to call back and give certain instructions because, he doesn't want the label to have the wrong instructions. As long as I know what I'm taking and how many I need what does it matter what that label says? I'm sick and tired of no advocacy in the pharmacy anymore. I feel as though this pharmacist is withholding my ability to fill this medication because they want to make sure that the doctor is aware of how many I'm taking while the doctor is the one who has been refilling the medication now three times and less than two months. If I'm prescribed 90 pills over the course of 30 days and she is refilling that twice within 30 days. What does that tell you ? That the doctor is well aware of how I am taking that medication. I am a 10 year recovered heroin and cocaine addict. If I wanted real drugs, I could get them. I could go get something a heck of a lot stronger than Flexeril right now if I wanted also. I do not appreciate the disrespect. I also don't appreciate how this pharmacist refused to call the doctor but wanted me to make those calls. Don't pharmacist take an oath to advocate for patients? And if that pharmacist knows that it's gonna take a long time for me to get in touch with that doctor. Why doesn't that pharmacist want me to be able to have my medication as soon as possible so I can be out of pain? There are people that killed themselves over piriformis syndrome. You can google that. this seriously affects your mental health and this pharmacist had no compassion for me whatsoever. I will never go back to fresh market.
