This is a huge natural food market right in downtown St Johnsbury. It has more than just food though. Great toiletries, note and greeting cards, VT arts and crafts. I like their oils and VT products. ALso great bulk food selection. The building used to be a church so there is a ton of parking availiable. read more

They have a great selection and the people there are extremely friendly. I love this place. They have a bulk room (i.e. grains, garlic sticks- so good, oats, etc), along with a deli area with amazing tasting food. Even if you're not into health food you'd like their food. Every time I go there I'm impressed with the amount of food items they have. It's pretty amazing. If you're looking for any kind of health food and or drink, pre-made or if you want to make it from scratch, this is a great place to go. They have everything. They also have a ton of vegan and vegetarian food. Easy to park, huge inside, looks a lot bigger inside than out. Plus it's cool to support a business that actually is doing good for you. Buy purchasing their items you help the companies who make health products stay in business and we need more of that. read more

Natural Provisions has everything! It's a health food store, a grocery store, a kitchen store, a deli, and more. I went in for the first time on a visit to the area, and the store just kept going and going - around every corner was another room (the bulk goods room, the deli, the clearance corner, the kitchen goods/supplies room...). Biggest selection of packaged Bob's Red Mill grain products I've ever seen, terrific bulk section (grains, spices, snacks, chocolate covered everything, etc. etc.), and excellent beauty/personal care/health section. Lots of local products. The deli sells hot soup, made-to-order sandwiches, and has many pre-made salads and hummuses. My only complaint, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that there is no indoor seating. Even 2-3 small tables near the deli would go a long way. It doesn't make sense to me to sell hot soup and fresh sandwiches if there is nowhere to sit to eat them! $5 credit card minimum. read more

I was a big fan of the Williston location the owner had previously. That said I was very happy to find this today and had an awesome spicy peanut chicken wrap. Wish I was here for lunch more often. Great selection of items on the floor also read more

Wow! All the different rooms with various categories of food, a bulk spice room, kitchen and cooking supplies, a great vitamin and supplement selection, and tasty prepared food. It was like a maze of healthful, delicious goodness in which I'd be perfectly at ease meeting the resident minotaur. They have a great selection of foods for all eaters, ranging from paleo to vegan and everything in between. Also, the prices aren't half bad considering it's in the middle of almost nowhere. They seem to have an eye for real quality in their prepared foods - whether you are getting something pre-packaged or something freshly made like a sandwich or soup. I highly recommend this place, if for nothing else the variety and the local honey they are selling in old pop-up jars. read more

Loved this place! Great local shops with an array of shopping and great deli options! All the sandwiches define fresh. All the soups, daily lunch specials, and packaged foods are made in house, clean eating yummies. Also they have a kambucha keg ... says enough in itself. read more

Love this place. Excellent array of vegetarian and vegan options. Great deli section with delicious sandwiches and homemade recipes (tofu dishes, kale salads, sushi, etc.) Worth the extra money to know where your food is coming from. Nice staff, clean, good atmosphere. read more

Stopped in here on the way up to Jay Peak and wow was I impressed! It's like a mini-Whole Foods with an excellent deli counter to boot! I got a sandwich, my wife got some soup and the kids picked out some healthy snacks. Everyone's bellies were full and happy. This place is really a hidden gem, and we will definitely stop by again next time we are in town. read more

My family and I were passing through the area looking for some place to stop to grab a quick vegan lunch. The options in the area seemed rather limited but I was hopeful after finding Natural Provisions natural food store and cafe during my online search. We decided to stop here. The store is a bit hard to navigate as it is split up into many small rooms and it wasn't very obvious how products were organized but I was more interested in the cafe anyways as we were in a hurry and wanted something quick. When I found the cafe, there was an employee sitting in the kitchen. No one was at the counter and even when the employee saw us, he didn't greet us or come to the counter. After a minute, I asked if they were open, thinking that maybe I had gotten their hours wrong. He said they were. I asked what vegan lunch options they had. The man hesitated for a minute while staring at the menu. It seemed that this was the first time he had been asked that. He told me that he didn't think they had any menu items that were vegan. When I asked if he could just make the grilled veggie sandwich without the cheese, he just seemed like he didn't want to have to make any food and recommended that we get something out of the cold case. The options and service were both pretty poor. What cafe in a natural food store doesn't have vegan food? Nor wants any customers? I gave the place three stars instead of one because, for a small town, they did have a decent amount of grocery products and the cashier was very friendly. read more

First, I have to say that I'm very thankful that we have this store in St Johnsbury. It eliminates frequent Amazon purchases for hard to locate healty herbs, supplies and such. Having said that, the staff acts like they are doing us a favor by existing. In the dozens of times I have been there, I have been thanked twice. Seriously. The last time I was there, a Sunday, a young girl rang up my purchase and turned away from me without a word. I had to ask her if I was all set. No 'thank you', no 'you're all set", no "scram", nothing. After each encounter at this store, I question why I ever return. Mostly for convenience sake. I'm certain that is why this store exists at all, purely out of convenience for their overpriced items and a staff that borders on rude . read more

I've been shopping at Natural Provisions for a number of years now and it's only gotten better with time. The deli they opened summer 2012 offers some really terrific food and daily specials, the prepared foods are excellent, and the produce (organic for the most part) department is growing steadily in quality and quantity. Their selection of bulk herbs and spices is impressive, and they've a large selection of vitamins and supplements, natural and organic foods (freezer, cooler, on the shelf, in a box, in a jar, etc.), gluten free offerings, and a great offering of body products and personals,. Their wine selection, though limited (due to space), is quite good. Need new kitchen utensils or pans or pots, dish towels, coffee grinder, anything kitchen? Check out the fine collection of such and at what I find are quite reasonable prices. The kitchen department and other parts of the store include nice gifts too. All that, and friendly staff, and oh yes, the chocolate and cookies, keep me coming back. read more
