I had Sonali cut and style my hair (I actually asked for her after my first cut and style). What I like is that they don't really make small talk...(how are you supposed to hear when the blow dryer is going?!) They try to keep the salon as clean as possible and offer you a drink while you wait (non alcoholic :( hehe). Staff is generally pretty friendly...so why there 4 stars and not 5? They over charge you and take advantage of you by charging 300$ when they advertise a deal for 169$ and btw my hair was already blonde I just wanted to lighten my roots... Not only do I think he is incapable of doing his job, he is also absolutely rude (a pleasant way of putting it) and seems not to care for what you want done as a client. Came to Natural Solutions with my girlfriend to get some stuff done. We were told to come back in 10 minutes because the lady that would be doing the procedure was busy. We left and walked around the Mall for 10-15 minutes. Upon returning we were told to have a seat and the lady would be with us shortly. We ended up waiting for an additional 30 minutes until we were finally given service. Customer service is definitely something this store should work on. read more

I've been coming here for a while - like 4 years? I do not go here anymore because if it's inconsistency. Sometimes it's okay - other times its a miss. I haven't had that WOW factor here. I went to have my nails done by Carina and she is an amazing nail technician with a bubbly personality. It's always nice to see her. However when I was paying for the service... they tacked on a hidden fee that they never told me about... shellac removal is $15 so that everyone here knows and is not surprised because it doesn't say that anywhere on their menu. I came to natural solutions as I wanted to get a balayage done. I heard many great things about the stylist Sarkis and therefore decided to book my appointment with him. I was very specific on what undertones I wanted in my hair (no warm/brass undertones). I just wanted to go for a light blonde balayage overall. I am soo extremely happy with my hair. Sarkis managed to get a perfect blonde that beautifully compliments my skin tone. I am so happy with the blend of a cool blonde mixed in with a slight warm blonde to create dimension. Went with my gf to get an olapex done which cost $30 the girl then asked us if my gf wanted a blow dry and she didnt inform us it would be extra. The blow dry cost more than the olapex service at $35 we were caught off gueard and it was a horrible experience. My first time there I got the stylist Natalia who provided a good consultation. She listened to what I wanted and made suggestions on how to best achieve it (my hair was very texturized from many previous haircuts and she had good ideas on how to fix that). She ran all her ideas by me and made sure i was okay with it before doing anything which made me feel very safe with her working on my hair. She put a lot of time into styling my hair afterwards even though the salon was closing she did not rush. However I was kinda iffy on the way she styled my hair - but you can easily style it yourself later. I have been searching for a great hair salon for 5 years now since my old stylist retired. Went in for a wash and blowdry. First time customer and I asked for my hair to be blowdryed with the big barrel brushes so that I could get more body and curl. I've had my hair blowdryed before with the big barrels and loved the way it came out. When I went to natural solutions and asked for this simple blowdry she blowdryed my hair straight and then put them in large barrel rollers...I told her its not how i usually do it and she convinced me that it would come out the same. She took the rollers out and after 10 minutes of me leaving the salon the body and curls were all gone. Can't even do a simple blowdry. read more

I got a shellac manicure and a pedicure at Natural Solutions. Pedicure felt careless, she spent very little time cleaning up my cuticles, didn't massage legs or thighs, didn't smooth the bottoms of feet, basically she quickly trimmed my toe nails, and then slapped some nail polish on my toes, which a day later the nail polish completely peeled off of one toe. The manicure- she filed my nails, which as fine, and then i guess decided that there is no need to even look at my cuticles, just jumped right into painting my nails. In multiple places polish is attached to my skin, parts of the shellac are starting to peel off. Both the Manicure and Pedicure look messy, and unpolished- to be honest, they look like I could have done them, and I do not go to get my nails done to have them look like I did it myself. I dont have the luxury of being able to afford frequent pedicures and manicures, so to have someone charge as much as they do, to not give at least standard service. I am beyond disappointed. Needless to say I would NEVER go back here. read more

Ron was the hair dresser I was given, very haugthy, and think too much of himself.. I couldn't place a words since he had all those products solutions he wanted to sell me on. 300$ for keratin 40$ for this 50$ for that!!! He spoke so much..... not set prices.. they custom their price to the customer... he kept saying I can lower the price... oh my gosh.. when he blow dried my hair I felt like my neck would break.. no cream of blowdrying lotions were applied to my hair.. then he kept saying its because your hair is so dry !!! Please!! Usually after blow-dry u should expect they apply silk or whatever.. NOTHING!!! I was charged 58 dollars fo blow dry!!!!!! Crap!! He did a color on my hair.. was fine nothing special.. i had highlights before and wanted to tone it down a bit; he was so confusing and wanting to cahrge me half head price for "couple highlights".. trust me I am happy I went for just the color... i don't know what I would look like otherwise.. HATED my experience!!!! HATED it.. they need to close shop!!! On top of that when I was getting my hair washed, he went for "smoke break" came back smelling like POT!!! read more

I had an amazing time at this salon. My hairdresser was named Sarkis and he was absolutely amazing. I really appreciated the fact that he was really excited to help me and was giving me suggestions. I had gotten my hair colored at a different salon but was not very satisfied, however Sarkis was able to help me choose a shade that I liked and most importantly, one that suited my skin color. I felt so comfortable with Sarkis's vision, I trusted him to cut my hair into long layers and he gave me side bangs which I loved. I really recommend this salon, and if you're there...ask for Sarkis! I must agree with the previous two reviews. I've been to this particular Natural Solutions salon a few times prior to it's renovation & move inside the mall. I normally prefer the Natural Solutions at Scarborough Town Centre but will occasionally go to this location because it is closer & less busy. This location always had stylists who were unprofessional and seemed to hate their job. The stylists would gossip in front of me, look bored and go out for smoke breaks. The male stylist (don't know his name) had this very snobby attitude that I disliked. BUT in the past two times I had been there, I got a stylist by the name of Ann. She was very attentive and sweet. She was very welcoming and gave me an amazing experience that I felt I HAD to give her a shout out. She gave me a consultation making sure to take into consideration my wants but also giving her professional advice. She was very careful in washing my hair and noticed I was experiencing some hair loss (I had not even mentioned it to her!). She gave me advice on how to maintain my hair. She offered me tea & brought me magazines. Throughout the whole process she let me know what she was going to do, educated me on some of the styling techniques and how I would be able to achieve it myself at home. She was very gentle the whole time making sure she wasn't hurting me with the brushing (some stylists can be very rough) or blow drying. She always consulted me first to make sure she wasn't doing anything I disliked and i'm glad because i'm not one to speak up. She gave me an amazing head massage and I have never had a stylist do that for me before. The first time I got a haircut from Ann, she braided my hair into a beautiful braided headband that I got many compliments for. NEVER have I been given that! at least not for free. Just today she gave me an awesome sexy Victoria secret blowout. I can't say much about the other stylists but definitely go to this location for ANN. read more

I wish I could give a worker review. Got my hair cut by Sarkis and asked for the 198 balayage promotion. Specifically showed him pictures of what I wanted. I have virgin black hair and was my first time colouring so didn't want it to be too light. I even showed him work he did on black hair and said I wanted it like a brown colour. He was the worst person to ever do hair with. While the foils were on I asked him if it got light and he was acting like it looked good. He washed my hair and when I looked at my hair, I saw NO DIFFERENCE. It was still black and he made it seem like my tips were a lighter colour which they weren't. I tried to tell him my hair is the same way it was and he blamed me saying that I told him I didn't want to go light, that doesn't mean I said I wanted my hair the same colour. The worst hair stylist ever. He then proceeded to tell me that I didn't tell him what I wanted, when I fully showed him a picture of HIS work. I then argued with him saying I am not paying 198+ 20 for long hair+ tax for my hair to be the same colour it was before. He tried to tell me he's taking 20 dollars off which I did not like. He knew he messed up. He then said he should've done level 7 but did 6. It was his fault and he knew it. I insisted to only charge me for wash cut and style because that's all he did. My hair is still black. I ended up paying 169 with tax for my hair to still be black, and my hair cut worse then ever. It was not acceptable and the receptionist was also having a rude face on while I was paying. Why I paid 169 for my hair to be black is beyond me but I want my money back. DO NOT go to SARKIS. I would have given it one star if it wasn't for the fact that it was ultimately my fault for not researching first and stepping into a salon inside the mall. Hair wash was definitely not the best I have experienced, hair analysis wasn't done, kept telling me to get highlights and explaining things as if I am unable to comprehend anything he is saying. Years of experience means increased prices - not transparent to whom you are getting (i.e. trainee or seasoned stylist). Definitely NOT recommended. Said that my last haircut was not equal in length on both sides - got home and discovered the same with his cut. I came here looking to dye the ends of my hair my natural colour as my balayage was growing out and I no longer wanted blonde ends. The woman who dyed my hair was the so called colourist of the salon. Now, I understand that it is difficult for one to dye hair the exact colour of roots. However, the 'colorist' dyed my hair a completely different colour then my roots and what I asked for. My roots, which were grown out more than half the length of my hair, were an ash brown colour. Though, when I left the salon, I realized my roots were dark brown and the ends of my hair were black with a reddish tint in the light. I went back to get this fixed and demanded now that she matched my hair with the colour of my eyebrows, now that she could no longer base it off the colour of my roots. She redid it yet it looked golden brown. I asked her to fix it AGAIN. The final product was a chestnut orangish brown colour. Not to mention, at this point my hair was breaking off and falling out. I had to wait a couple months before I went to another salon to get it fixed. Terrible experience I will never go again. read more
