Every time I go to Taz for waxing or facials, I get the same consistent, sweet, friendly and caring service from her. Had it not been for a friend of mine who had gone to her previously, I would still be on the hunt for a good waxing parlour. Taz is very thorough with her work. She makes sure she gets the job done quick and to your liking. She always asks you to take a look at your waxing area to see if she missed anything and will gladly remove any missed spots. She usually gets everything though, so not to worry! :) she's also very mindful and detail-oriented when it comes to doing facials to fit the needs of your skin. Seeing how your skin responds to certain products and what it needs. I have really oily skin and she figured out what I can use to help manage that. I literally go every month to see her. This was my first time getting waxed and Taz made the whole experience great. It was less painful than I thought it would be. Done within 30minutes. While it did hurt, Taz tries talking to you to ease the pain/distract you lol At the end I received a little container of aloe vera to soothe the waxed area. Taz responded very quickly to my inquiry. Still is the best place to get yourself hairless lol! I can't tell you how quick and clean Taz does it. She is amazing and super sweet. The products she uses are top quality and doesn't irritate my skin. :) I tried to go to a closer salon to get waxed only to get my skin burned and irritated (must be the type of wax they used or the after care products). I stopped going after awhile because as much as I love the price and ease of booking, I did end up with some red rashes and bumps after my last wax job. I'm also a bit weary of the waxing room. Random clothes put onto the bed for you to lie down on.. in someone's basement... I guess I prefer the spa experience when I'm getting waxed. Taz, the esthetician and owner of Famik, is a gem. She welcomes you whole heartedly. I mean, I skipped lunch because I was running late and she offered me chips, soda AND cut a whole fresh apple for me! I wouldn't even expect such service from a friend I was visiting, let alone at a salon I'm going to to get a Brazilian! What you strive for when having such an intimate procedure is trust. Taz is a genuinely caring and loveable person -- she's skilled at what she does and doesn't make it any more painful than it has to be. Over the weekend I got a Brazilian done by Taz and she got the job done all under 5 minutes. She is so lovely to talk to and keeps your mind of the pain by keeping you chatting. I arrived at her house at 11:01 am and was out the door and back in my car at 11:12 am -talk about quick and efficient service! Taz has been doing this for over 25 years - she is very professional and good at her job. The studio she has set up in her downstairs basement is nice and clean. There's a designated small waiting area and a closed room where the waxing takes place. She accepts cash and I saw a debit machine too. The Brazilian was $30, very worth it. I was already nervous about it while coming in because I had heard of so many horror stories (40 minute brazilians, high levels of pain, skin getting waxed off, etc.), however Taz finished the work in less than 5 minutes - and very professionally! I was so happy with my first experience that I have been coming back for all my waxing needs ever since! Aside from being a very talented and professional esthetician, Taz is such a lovely person. She will talk to you throughout your wax to ensure that your mind is preoccupied and less focused on the pain! This technique definitely helps to ease the process. You will find that you enjoy talking to her even when you're not trying to distract yourself from the pain! As a final note; it is important to realize that no one is perfect! But Taz might quite possibly be the closest thing :) If you ever have any problems regarding her work (if she missed a couple of hairs) or problems you experience later on (redness, irritation, etc.) just give her a call! I have always wanted to get a Brazilian wax but heard too many horror stories. I was afraid of the excruciating pain that so many people complained about. But after having a baby I figured now is the best time to try it. After reading the reviews I decided I would give Taz try. I was not disappointed! She was absolutely amazing. Even though this was my first wax the pain wasn't that bad and Taz talk to me the entire time so I didn't really focus on the pain. I highly recommend her. She is friendly and wonderful and makes you feel at home. Her place is clean bright and inviting. I will definitely be back for my next wax and will probably do a facial as well.
