I've always had male doctors (pediatrician and PCP) so I had mixed feelings on this but decided to not make any changes. COVID came along so many physicians offered telehealth rather than in-person meetings. To be frank, I was also skeptical with a telehealth appointment but at that time this was the only option. My first impression of Dr. Kim: upbeat and personable. Dr. Kim had gone through my history and focused on my current health condition where I needed to make changes. Since that initial telehealth appointment, my appointments with Dr. Kim have gone back in-person and I do like the convenient location of Hale Pawa'a. She shares the office with 3 other female physicians representing Queen's Health Care Center. Currently, all Queen's Health Care facilities still require all (patients and visitors) to wear hospital approved masks. I was in a rush as I didn't want to be late for my appointment and forgot my mask in my car, however, fortunately the receptionist provided me with a disposable one to save me a trip to my car. On my last appointment, in addition to my continued health condition, she also listened to recent concerns where she provided options and solutions. It is reassuring when a professional listens to your concerns and provides solutions with its pros and cons. Dr. Kim's staff are very pleasant to work with. I was pleased that Joanne, one of Dr. Marsh's longtime staff, is still on board as she recently assisted me. I appreciate how the staff follow-up with you and make the proper arrangements to have my prescriptions picked up at a location that's convenient for me. Overall, I am pleased with Dr. Kim and the smooth transition of her taking over the patients of Dr. Marsh. She listens to you and prioritizes the patient's health.

There's a reason he's booked out for months (I waited nearly a year and a half for my first appointment, but it was absolutely worth it). The practical details are great too: free parking (seriously, what doctor's office has free AND available parking?), excellent location, and the building itself is clean and professional - not sketchy at all. To bring some clarity, I am a female patient…read moreand recently went back to this office, after not seeing a regular doc for years (maybe like 5) and decided to see Dr. Takemoto's daughter, Krishanna. Before that, I did have Dr. Curtis as my main PCP, but as I got older, just felt it would be more appropriate and comfortable for me to see a female. Thru seeing Dr. Krishanna the past year+, I can say that she is exemplary about being thorough, allowing you to ask all questions, and is even a certified gyno = double win for me not having to see multiple docs (I do everything in a single visit)!! My mom also decided to reestablish this as her PCP office, but now Dr. Krishanna as her main PCP, even though she now lives on the Big Island. She has wonderful bedside manner, and does very extensive testing on you to make sure everything is in order. Each year I do a blood exam to check my levels and if something's off - like my Vitamin D, she'll add it to my repertoire. My mom also has hyperthyroid and Krishanna took great care to check all her meds, bloodwork, and other testing measures, etc to prescribe new supplements. Even my husband and a few friends now see this office - and ALL have raved about how great their care is, along with be extensive and holistic - not just looking at symptoms, but treating the whole body and looking for more natural options first. I've probably referred a total of 3 folks now (with more friends still waiting to get in), and they are all VERY happy with their care. Cant speak to Dr. Curtis as he's not my main PCP anymore (used to be about 10 years ago - and had no issues!) - but my husband sees him and had nothing but positive things to say. I can certainly say that Dr. Krishanna, however, goes above and beyond to make you feel like more than a number and explains and takes a lot of time during your visit. 10/10!!!
