What I did notice in the clean and orderly waiting room was that the turn-over of incoming people was truly amazing. During my visit, I was assisted by an employee named Rachel at window #12. From the beginning of the interaction, her tone and demeanor were noticeably aggressive and unprofessional. While I fully understand and respect the need to collect proper documentation and follow standard procedures, the manner in which I was addressed was unnecessarily hostile. At one point, Rachel asked both my boyfriend and me about our citizenship status. We are Hispanic, and the way the question was asked, followed by her shaking her head as she walked away, felt inappropriate and concerning. Her facial expressions and tone throughout the interaction conveyed clear disdain. When I calmly addressed her tone and expressed that her customer service approach felt unprofessional, her response was, "I'm talking to you how I would anyone 'normal.'" I found this statement deeply troubling and offensive. The implication that we were somehow not "normal" was hurtful and unacceptable in a public service setting. I believe every customer deserves to be treated with neutrality, professionalism, and respect, regardless of race or background. I hope this matter can be reviewed and addressed appropriately to ensure that all individuals are treated with dignity in your office. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. The air conditioning is cold, so is the beer. The wine can be dangerous, but for $2.00 a glass it's do - able. The bartenders Maggie, Kelly, Lindsy and Nicole don't skimp on the mixed drinks either. As a matter of fact, I think they are probably the most potent in Mayport. They serve dinner every night. It is home cooked and cheap. But this is a one meal feeds all, so you better like Sandwiches on Wednesdays or just know that Friday night is steak dinner night. They have an active softball team and dart league as well as a poker league. What the Legion may lack in modern facilities, it is the people, on both sides of the bar, that make this place great.
