Super easy and quick are the two words to describe my experience at the At Johns tax collector's office. No line or waiting next window A37. We really did not know what to expect after being in Duval county for 8 years. Surprise, Surprise. The clerk was friendly and made our change of address and vehicle registration a breeze At years ago, we came to this same location before moving to Duval. We we getting the plates for our cars. Nearly $500 back then. Not use to the high price of registering a car. We are from NJ All in all, a good days work at the At Johns tax collector!

Being a California implant I am use to the DMV (Department of motor vehicles) taking FOREVER no matter which office you went too. Imagine my surprise when the first few visits I made here there was NO WAIT time. Everyone I have worked with has been very helpful. My favorite though is the security guard when you first walk in! Always a kind word. Due to Covid-19 things have changed a bit and this location only sees St Johns County residents, seating are 6' apart and the flow to enter and exit have been adjusted. This visit I would say is the longest wait time but I don't mind wait 15 minutes compared to spending half of my day at the CA DMV.

This location is the best. Friendly staff and they have it all. Tags, drivers licenses, other tax stuff, a sheriff's annex, finger printing, and its even an early voting site. It's tucked away off the beaten path and secluded. For those in the area, they all know we are lucky to have this location. :)

What an incredible first experience at the Bartram Trail Branch! My family and I recently moved to…read moreFlorida, and from the moment we walked through the doors, every single person we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. They didn't just answer our questions, they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. A very special shoutout to Alex. I always get a little nervous telling people we're new to Florida because everything is unfamiliar, but Alex made us feel right at home. She was unbelievably patient, warm, and just an all-around amazing person. You can tell she truly loves helping people, and that kind of service is rare. If there were a way to write a letter to her manager, the library board, or even the Chamber of Commerce recognizing how wonderful she is, I absolutely would. Employees like Alex make a lasting impression and are the reason people keep coming back. Thank you to everyone at the Bartram Trail Branch for making our family feel so welcome. We walked in hoping to get library cards and walked out feeling like we had found a little piece of our new community. Five stars isn't enough!

Being a Duval resident, I can't check out books here. BUT one of my favorite things about this…read morelibrary is their book sale! They always have such a great selection of books to purchase. Paperbacks are $2 and hard covers are $3. Can't beat that! The librarians are so nice and helpful. And they have great areas to sit and read or study as well. It is definitely one of my favorite libraries in the area! And bonus - right now they're decorated for the 250th anniversary of America. So fun.

I stopped by Walter Jones Historical Park recently for a peaceful afternoon walk and was pleasantly…read moresurprised by its quiet charm and educational value. Nestled in the Mandarin area, the park offers a glimpse into a long-forgotten way of life through well-preserved historic buildings and informative signage. Even if the museum isn't open, there's still plenty to learn just by walking around. The paved and boardwalk-style paths make it especially accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, or elderly visitors. There are clean restrooms on-site and pavilions that can be reserved, which is great for small family get-togethers or casual outdoor events. It's also right next to a county dock and boat launch--technically not part of the park, but close enough to enjoy the breeze and water views. That said, there's not a ton to "do" here, especially if the museum is closed. There are no hiking trails or playgrounds, so it's better suited for a quiet stroll than a full day out. Because the park is on the smaller side, sound tends to carry--something to keep in mind if you're hoping for solitude during a busy weekend. One small frustration is that it's become a popular spot for photo shoots, and some photographers don't always respect that it's a shared public space. This is a great spot for a short, relaxing visit--especially if you're interested in local history or just want somewhere calm to stroll. Not really a "destination park," but definitely a hidden gem if you're in the area. I'd return, especially if the museum is open next time.
