We came to the bank to do a wire transfer and the gentleman at the desk said it may be an hour because we are short staffed and they have to go to lunch. The branch leader was in her office on her phone. She came out about 5 minutes later and spoke to the gentleman and then took off to the employee area and never acknowledged us to explain the issue. The other two representatives were busy with clients. We were able to accomplish everything we needed in about 30 minutes. The issue is with the greeting, short staff understand, saying staff needs to go to lunch not my concern. Quick easy and convenient i stopped here on my way home from work and i was in and out in no time . They have two walk up ATMS outside and no drive thru but once you go inside a nice teller will meet you at the door to see if they can help assist you before you join the line if you have to. Never had such problems with a bank or credit union! Two major things have happened in the last month which didn't let us access our own money. First is that my 23 yr. old son who normally deposits his paycheck through mobile deposit and has access to the funds between two and four days was told that the check was questionable for being fraudulent. First of all, he works for a family member. The check was held, and the funds not deposited for 9 to 10 days! There was never an answer given as to why it looked like something was altered or fraudulent. He had bills to pay, and as many Americans do, he lives paycheck to paycheck at the moment. The second issue was when I attempted to get money out of the ATM right there at the Buford location. I inserted the card attached to my account. It said access denied. So I tried the second card that I have which is attached to another account my husband and I have. That also said access denied. There were funds in both accounts. I went back to the vehicle and told my husband. So he took his card and attempted to get money out. I told him the same thing. There was a line of people before me, and after me having no issues getting their money. So it was not, the ATM machine being down. I spoke to a lady on the phone a couple days after it happened and she could not figure it out so she forwarded me to a specialist. The answer the specialist tried to give me is that they did not even show that we attempted anything and that it must have been the ATM machine having issues. I told him that logically that does not make sense, because there were several people before me and after me, then my husband took his card and tried with people before him, and after him having no issue. But the gentleman stuck to his story that it must've been coincidence that those exact times when we used each of our three cards, the ATM machine must've been down. that was how the conversation was left and he had no other solution. I am so disappointed with this credit union, especially being one for military. They should have their stuff in order. Both of these situations are not acceptable! I love Navy Fed and have been a customer since 1996. They have great service and products. I was extremely excited when I discovered this branch had opened because it is so close to where I live. They do have long wait times for lobby visits due to the Covid protocols they have in place, but the ATM access is fast and easy. read more

NF IS SPIRALLY INTO THE DEPTHS OF HELL!!! I think they've made it too easy for just anyone to join (more than half the people I know with accounts here aren't military or even remotely affiliated with someone who is), hence opening a pathway for scammers/thieves and now the faithful, honest customers are paying the price for it. Since when did a bank that you have account with NOT cash a check?? I was told I could only deposit it but the funds wouldn't be available for 3 days, now I have an email stating sorry for the delay but it'll be another 5 business days before it posts. Which puts the transaction at 8 or 9 days from the original deposit date. However, someone can deposit a fraudulent check and have funds available for withdrawal in 72 hrs. I'm closing all accounts and going back to Chase or Georgia's Own. Oh, and the new mobile app "update"? Trash. Zero stars. Navy federal as a whole? DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

I belonged to wonderful credit unions in southern CA for decades. Never liked the big banks. A friend of mine recommended Navy Federal upon arriving in GA. I've been with this credit union for 4 months now and I have been very happy with the service so far. Credit unions are small banks so you may have to wait a little longer for some services, but I get treated like a person instead of a number and that makes a big difference to me when I'm trusting people with my money. Great service at navy Federal bank. Never had a issue if I do they resolve it really quickly.

Helpful staff but long waits. Be prepared to spend a good part of your day if you need to talk to anyone.
