In this day and age, it's unfortunately not possible for most families to live comfortably off of one income, and so we began our daycare search process shortly after our baby was born. From our first visit and tour, we knew this center would be ideal for us. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating, answered all of our questions, and helped ease my nerves as a new mom. We were confident our baby would be in the best hands when maternity leave was over. Since day 1 of when our baby began attending, we have always felt very secure in our choice. The communication and photo updates via the app are great and let us know our baby is having a great day. The staff has since become like a second family for us and it's clear our baby enjoys coming and spending the day with his favorite teachers. He has benefited so much from being in a learning environment focused on individual development and it has been so wonderful to see him thriving here. I would highly, highly recommend this center to anyone looking for a place for their child to grow and succeed.

The director, Miss Georgine, is the two year old preschool teacher and she's a wonderful, kind, grandmotherly lady. At this Sandbox they really seem to care about each child and treat them as an individual. Another two year old preschool we looked at (Bobby Noonan) had more of an attitude of "She'll fit into our program" (an exact quote) rather than to fit the program around the child like they do at Sandbox. When I first visited the director sat down with me and listened to my concerns and desires for a preschool for my daughter (primarily to help with talking) and said how they were happy to help work with them. I've seen great advances in her speech since starting Sandbox six months ago, and I really love the teachers and the environment- it's very homey rather than the institutional or "daycare" type feel that many preschools have. She loves going and I think it's helped her to be a little more independent as well.

You are one of "those" people. The ones who think that rules are for everyone else. But not for you! I give a standing ovation to the directors for denying you entrance to the school - a school your child WAS NOT ATTENDING. It is a SAFETY PRECAUTION to keep all parents out of the school during class. All the other parents managed to make it to the open house and come at the agreed time - when classes are NOT in session. What makes you so special that you should have access to the school whenever you want? And to JIll H. - whoever you are...is this the story you are sticking with? They decided - out of the blue to just cut you off? Hmmmm. The day before classes, which would mean they would need to give that spot to someone else? All that extra work and re-arrangement? They would go through all that because you said the wrong thing? Sounds fishy to me. Were you emotionally unhinged? More likely. It's unfair that your review is showing up, because there are several more filtered ones that genuinely describe the program. And I see most of the reviews that you give are complaints, so you must be a really pleasant person! BTW - parents do get to go the the school for special program days. And the programs are amazing, and really do show how much work and effort goes into your child all year round. And they show you the progress your child has made through the year and there is not a dry eye in the house. People vie to get their children into this school for a reason, because it is exceptional.

I would pick my son up and he would have boogers on his nose/face dried up and crusty. When I would give my child a bath at home after the day, he'd have dried up feces on his underwear due to them not wiping the kids after they use the restroom. The teachers in each class were young, inexperienced, and ignorant. Anytime I made a complaint about the care of my child (that I pay them for) they would gas light and manipulate things to make it my fault that they were not caring for my son properly. I also witnessed a couple of the teachers getting super impatient with the kids and sometimes toss them around and scream at them, it honestly broke my heart. The manager Mary was the worst part of it all. Instead of taking the responsibility for her own KinderCares failures, she decided to blame the kids! She would literally blame the 3-4 year olds themselves. Horrible daycare to attend.

We were stressed and not being the best parents we could be, juggling everything on our plates. We looked at nanny's but given Covid, many wanted to be in their home, not ours. We did look at another daycare but I didn't feel comfortable. We finally talked to Melissa at KC-John Humphrey and gave it a try. To be honest I wasn't thrilled about the idea of a "commercialized" daycare. Melissa and all the staff/teachers are absolutely incredible. They made the transition easy. They even helped and accommodated as we transitioned our son from home purees to table food; from formula/BM to dairy milk/water. We saw so much growth and development in our lil guy after just a couple weeks. The app is great for communication and just seeing how our son's day is going/went. They are very diligent about children's health. Although it was hard, our son had to stay home a couple times because of sickness that had similar symptoms to Covid (but wasn't). I can appreciate the effort. I wouldn't want other kids to expose our son in the same situation. They followed up on his "sick days" just to check in on him. The ONLY reason we are leaving this center is because we're moving to Elgin. We've only been going to KCJH for about 5 months and will truly miss the team. They genuinely care about the children and families. On another note, our transition to an Elgin KC has been seamless as well. We look forward to the same caring staff up north. For all the new parents struggling decide to send your child(ren) to daycare in the OP area, send them to KCJH. You become a better parent because of the reduced stress/mental break and the child(ren) love it.

I appreciate how much my daughter has learned and grown from knowing her colors and shapes before one and all of her letters before 2. I've always been amazed at stuff she knows, like counting backwards, cause I knew I wasn't responsible for it (LBVS). Some teachers who have stood out are Ms. Linda, Ms. Theresa, Ms. Caitlyn, Ms. Leann, Ms. Destiny, Ms. Kat, Ms. Kobe, and Ms. Tricia. I would certainly recommend COA as they provide updates daily in an app along with video capabilities. I also appreciate the activities they have after school to keep parents active (Bentley activities) and informed (parent conferences). I'm so thankful for COA.

They plan such fun lessons and have a set routine that toddlers need. I never thought my son would be able to transition from a crib to a cot, but he was doing it after 1 day! I'm always getting art work sent home and love seeing the pictures from their daily activities. The directors also know all of the children by name. It's a wonderful community, and I would definitely recommend it!
