Did I almost park in the HPD side of the parking lot? Yes I did!…read moreDon't do that. My only gripe is their parking lot is ridiculously small!! I had lucked out and grabbed the last stall in the front. I guess you could find street parking but I just couldn't believe there were maybe 30 stalls for a building that runs the Drivers Licensing Center and Satellite City Hall. I just went in to pay my registration but overhearing the front clerk, they do accept walk-ins for all other services but yesterday they were quoting a 2-3hour wait. So please, if you're doing any type of Tax payments, or DL renewal, make an appointment! If you're just running in to pay your car reg. they do have a Express line, and they will point you into the direction. The Clerk/Cashier was extremely friendly and very helpful. I was there for maybe 10mins at most. I normally utilize the DMV Kiosk but for some reason my safety check from last year wasn't showing in the system so that's the reason for my visit. They do not accept cash but they do tack on a fee for credit cards, if you use check you don't have to pay the fee so bring your checkbook if you still have them :)

I went FOUR times trying to get a duplicate title for my friend who moved off-island. Every time I brought what they told me to bring--and every time they told me it was wrong. Make it make sense. One guy straight up said my name wasn't on the POA while I was looking at it in bold print. I asked him a separate question for myself and he took my docs and voided them for no reason. I went back, got helped by a grumpy Filipina manang who rattled off instructions like she was an auctioneer. Zero effort to be helpful. Literally told me, "yes you have the right documents but we don't process them at this counter so u need to sit and wait an hour over there to be helped." She didn't blink at all. Finally get helped after 2 hours only to be told I actually don't have the correct documents. FIVE HOURS wasted that day alone. I gave up and went to Kapolei. Whole different vibe--like I stepped into a Disney DMV. Staff smiled, spoke like actual humans, told me exactly what I needed, and even said "have a nice day." I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Bottom line: If you want to start your day mad, go to Wahiawa. If you want to be treated like a person, go to Kapolei. I've never seen such a wild difference in customer service in my life.

The place is quite difficult to find, as there is no obvious sign. Inside is enclosed, but since it is an easy in-and-out situation, you will have no problems. Availability: The only thing that sucks about this place is the limited time. For TB it is only Mondays where they give you the test and a follow-up on Wednesdays 2-4 PM. Um..omg, the window of opportunity is soo small. For immunization it is worse. It is from 1-3 PM second and fourth Tuesday of the month. How can anyone get anything done???? However, as a state worker, I can understand as to why this is occurring. It is due to budget cuts...and further budget cuts that may or are occurring for the Department of Health. Environment: Can you spell G-H-E-T-T-O. It isn't very welcoming, however the chairs and some other things were donated by a church. That's nice! People: They are very nice. They invited my staff and I to a coffee hour, in which they displayed numerous local business and farmers' produce. It was god-a-licious good! :D Although, the staffing seemed to only be limited to two people. Parking: It can be difficult since it is shared with WIC, Public Health Nurses, and Welfare. Cost: Free

It's kind of a tricky place to find. Since I'm familiar with Wahiawa it wasn't hard for me, but if you're not familiar with the area it can be confusing since there are no visible signs of arrows of any kind. Parking is available in the lot, but how you enter the lot is tricky. You can enter from California Ave or you can enter from behind Wahiawa General Hospital (can't remember the name of this street) and this is where I ususally enter. There is more than enough parking in the private lot as well as on this street (it's not street parking but it's actual marked stalls) TB tests are administered every Monday between 2PM-4PM. You just bring your ID, fill out the form in front, and wait in line. Usually there is a group waiting right before 2PM but they are pretty quick to get you in and out. The staff is very friendly! The office itself is small. A small desk where they check you in, and a small area where they administer your shot (s). TB readings are done every Wednesday, again from 2PM-4PM. Just bring your ID again, wait in line, they'll peak at your forearm, and give you your card. It's very quick and easy, and best of all, it's FREE! I'm not familiar with the hours for other immunizations but you can view them on the Department of Health's website. Last year I needed a TB test but because of my work schedule I wasn't able to make it Monday OR Wednesday (only crappy thing is the limited hours), so if you're in need of a TB test, Access Medical Clinic does them for $30.

From start to finish, everyone here was just so pleasant which was the opposite from other DMV sites like Kapahulu and Kapolei. The examiner I got was a very friendly yet firm lady who made the entire road test a great experience. She was not harsh and understood that these road tests give us examinees a lot of anxiety, but her calm and teaching demeanor helped me finish the road test with no problems. She carefully explained to me what some parts I could improve on, but it was legit constructive criticism and was not condescending about it. I have been driving independently from time to time with no problem, and I can only thank the kind staff who helped make the process of getting my license a smooth one. The road test schedule for this DMV is always months out in advance, but I can see why and it's definitely worth it. Make sure you periodically check on the afternoons if they opened up a slot. I would not worry about the parallel parking too much, as that is my experience. My only tip is to try and get a parking stall for the designated parking lot closest to the area you will be exiting from, if possible. I parked at one of the first few stalls designated for us examiners and it got busy, so it took me a few minutes to get out of the stall since so many people were coming in and it is a smaller parking lot than Kapolei or Kapahulu.

I love this little gym. Theres nothing fancy about this place, really. But it is right by my work…read moreso I can walk over and get a quick workout on my lunch. Its never really busy around lunch time and I can always find an elliptical, treadmill, or stairmaster to work on. They have tons of free weights as well as machines with weights in a small room to the side. They also have a sauna there. The locker rooms have lockers available for daily use or I think you can rent one out on a monthly basis or something like that (don't quote me on this!). Another great perk here is that they have free wifi! So you can stream your music without going over on your data (for those of us who don't have those plans that exclude music from our data usage). The staff here is friendly. Once they see you enough, they always say hi. I always see them cleaning the machines too and sweeping. Some things to remember: *Bring your ID card as they have 100% ID check. Once you register, you have to scan each time you come in. *Bring a small towel to wipe your sweat. *Wipe the machines down after you use it with the provided paper towels and cleaner. *Bring your headphones. Although they play music, theres just so much machines running, weights clanging together, and just movement in general, it is kind of hard to hear the music well.
