It's cute that there are decorations hanging from the ceiling, my son especially loved the Very Hungry Caterpillar and dinosaur ones. I like that the book return was a bin, making it easy for kids to put the book in should we read some at the library. There is a section for board books and a shelf by "type of book" such as Disney, Barbie, etc. The tables and chairs are children sized as well. It is freezing in there so be sure to bring a jacket if you're planning on hanging out. I especially like that the bathrooms are clean and there is security.

The event is listed online as 9:00-9:30 AM, so my daughter and I made sure to arrive early and be ready on time, along with several other families. Story time didn't actually begin until around 9:10, which may not sound like a huge delay, but with little ones, 10 minutes can make a big difference. My daughter was ready and excited when we arrived, but the extra waiting made her increasingly anxious and by the time it started, she no longer wanted to sit and participate nicely. I also felt it was unfair to the families who made the effort to arrive promptly. The room was also extremely hot and uncomfortable. It honestly felt like there was little to no A/C, and I noticed a staff member at a nearby desk had a fan blowing directly on her. Had we known ahead of time that the room would be that warm, we could have at least prepared for it or decided whether it would be comfortable enough for our child. I was really looking forward to making Keiki Story Time something fun for my daughter and me, especially since this was our first visit, so this was a big bummer. Between the late start and the uncomfortable heat, I unfortunately don't think we'll be returning.

I finally got a card after almost three years of living here lol It's definitely worth it because I can check out books, DVDs, and pretty much anything they offer in the library. I know it's old school but us older generation still comes to the library to read books. I enjoy a wide variety of books including mystery and suspense. I like books that keep me reading. Plenty of parking right up front and the restrooms are right near the entrance/exit. I would come back over and over to see what interesting books are available.

Reads in the Red I…read moredidnt know this place existed, and didnt know what the red building was until I approached this place after I was in the area. Is the building red because of the red dirt? If so thats is pretty thorough planning. This library is small but contained troves of books and novelties. There is also computers there so its a nice balance between the old and new. I haven't been to a library in awhile and from I saw, it was only very young kids in there and older people. I guess all the people in between dont have a use for the library as much as before, but its nice to walk into one as if traversing the annals of history. Please stay, we still need you.

I've been here in the conference room for a presentation in the past... and now, I had a chance to visit again and return books from other libraries! It's very convenient with free parking, cool air-conditioning, and pleasant staff! The interior is bright, clean, modern, and spacious! I will return to browse the book sale area and regular books!

Always quiet, making it the perfect place to read, work, or meet clients for document signings when they're in the area. It's a standalone baby-blue building on the left with plenty of free parking right in front. Just note that the library is only open Monday through Friday, and the hours vary by day. SERVICE: From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the security staff, which makes the library feel welcoming. If you need help finding something, don't hesitate to ask. One staff member wasn't able to answer my question, but instead of just pointing me in the right direction, she personally introduced me to the appropriate librarian. The librarian then helped me and even walked me to the correct section. That's the kind of customer service you don't see everywhere. 5/5 SELECTION: This library is definitely a hidden gem. Before visiting, you can search the online catalog to see if a book is available, and I was surprised by how many titles the Ewa Beach branch carries. If they don't have what you're looking for, you can also request books from other Hawaii public libraries. The ceiling lights remind me of my grandma's old living room! There's useful resources when entering like bus routes, tax forms, the new ENV sewer credit application, etc. The library is organized & reference signs are clear. It's quiet (like it should be). There's computer areas, charging station, children's room, another room in back, a meeting room for activities/games, that you could also rent. There's a atrium (or something like that - see pic). There's free weekly activities for the communitiy to join (what we waiting for)! The staff is friendly and explanatory. Tips: Cash or checks only! Hot list books & DVD's are 1 week rental, all other books, even ukulele's can rent 3 weeks and return to any state public library! You can also do Self checkout if you feeling anti social. Speaking of, it's Mental Health Awareness month & they caringly put out resources, pamphlets & book suggestions to help with that Happy reading!

They've got bunches of books from every genre, along with DVDs and games you can checkout as well. The DVDs and games have a limited number you can check out, but you can check out all the books you want! What I'm not a huge fan of is their non fiction section. There's only non-fiction, there's no autobiography, historical categories, they're just all together, which makes it harder to find what you're looking for. Read some books people!
