He's looking for people who will pay whatever he decides and not say anything but "thank you, Hair God." I'm sure he overcharges plenty of people who are unsuspicious of his tactics....but that just isn't me. If you go to Lucent just be aware of how much your pocket might be picked for a hair style you could get somewhere else that actually cares about you more than how much they can con you out of your money. I can't go based on any work because he did nothing…read more I went in for a consultation, it was such a weird vibe. It was quiet (no music) and no customers. Three employees were sitting down chatting away while I waited for my appt. I went because i wanted to cut my hair into a long bob but my consultation specialist looked at my hair and said my hair was fried. There was nothing he could do, I was so confused. I said, I'm not here to dye my hair. I'm here for a haircut. He said, I know. You need keratin and once your hair gets healthy I could try. Out of curiosity I asked, if I get my hair back to "healthy " again. I asked who he would recommend and he said nobody here. I was shocked and to be honest, I was so over the consultation that I awkwardly laughed and promised him I'd be back. He could honestly care less. I wasn't too irritated because it smelled like hard boiled eggs or broccoli in there. Not to mention, The older woman at the front desk was hella grumpy as well. There were 3 trainees involved the first did my hair wash and she absolutely killed it. Her scalp massage was on point and she was so friendly. Her name was Esmeralda I believe. As for the other two trainees, the manager or trainer had them do one side of my hair each. They both were super nervous and I can understand why but so was the girl who washed my hair and I am thinking they are a little bit intimidated by their manager? I will say the manager did seem like she wanted to be doing something other than training them. Anyway... Each time, they used the curling brushing, it caused noticeable pain, as though multiple strands of hair were being pulled out with every pass of the brush. This occurred consistently and left my head feeling so uncomfortable. I shed hair and I told the trainer and trainees this before they started in order to hopefully get them to know I don't want to lose more hair than I already do. I understand that trainees are still learning and that not every issue is their fault, but it might be worth reviewing the brushing techniques or adding more hands-on guidance during training to prevent this level of discomfort. The end result was fine but I wish there was a little more volume. The manager did give this one to me for free just because I was the only one who signed up for the new stylists promo but I would have had a real issue if I did end up getting charged for this. As a result, I'll probably only return if I can book directly with an experienced stylist. That said, I enjoy the salon atmosphere and services overall.

Lexi was fantastic from start to finish. As a new client, she really listened to what I wanted while also offering her own professional recommendations. She walked me through each step of the process, checked in to make sure I was comfortable, and even offered water and snacks since I was in her chair for a while. I trusted her guidance to blend my gray and tone, my brown and blonde hair to a soft ash color and it couldn't be happier with the results. I haven't done my hair in about 2 yrs, so I ended cutting off about 8" from my waistline and I was terrified (on the inside).
