I can't recommend Reem as a master stylist. I had a basic bob cut and was very specific about the length of the hair to be cut and that I wanted to tuck hair behind my ears - so not too short. Well unfortunately I can't glue my hair back on and it has been over three months waiting for my hair to grow back so I can tuck my hair behind my ears. I also had uneven length on both sides. Yes I could have gone back but why would I trust that it would be fixed and not made worse? Sorry, if you are going to promote yourself as a master stylist and charge the big bucks you had better get it right the first time. read more

During this visit the salon was inviting. All new equipment, clean. I did not see any sign of sanitation. Brushes, combs, or scissors. The stylist did an adequate cut. Was pleasant. Well dressed. Ready to leave, asked if all was well. First ran my card thru. My cut was 60.00. Then I saw the $3.00 surcharge. I look at the register, no sign. No sign on the door. Did let them know they needed to have a sign. I could have given them cash. On 60.00 visa Says there should have only been a $1.80 Surcharge. How many people are being over CHARGED? I thought it would be a great experience but unfortuately it was not for me. I liked the cut but the highlight didn't turn out well. My stylist left two big places where the darker color I had didn't lift with the new blonde and I had two big strips on each side of my head that were orange. She knew this before I left but did nothing to fix it or let me know how bad it was. She acted like it was no big deal when she brought it up so I didn't think it was that bad. The main issues in my experience when I had booked my appointment to get a scalp scrub Service with salon blissful this was the hundred dollar package that they were offering. First, I felt like it was a lack of technique. The service felt more like somebody playing with my hair than a professional treatment. The technician stayed mostly around my hairline and failed to scrub the back of my scalp entirely. The set up was uncomfortable. The chair was extremely uncomfortable and didn't seem designed for this type of service. It felt like sitting in the standard salon chair, making it impossible to relax, and also the poor attention, a detail. Water and products were dripping down my face during the service and the technician didn't seem to notice really until I pointed it out. I'm not sure if this was due to the specific provider or the services design but for the cost, I expected a much more thorough and professional experience. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you're looking for a true scalp treatment. read more

From the moment we became clients, Stacy has always greeted us with a smile while providing exceptional customer service and sharing her service and product knowledge. While we most often fly under the radar and do not have scheduling issues, we had an emergency and unfortunately had to miss an appointment due to an unexpected hospital stay. When I phoned Salon Blissful and offered to pay a cancellation fee, Stacy was more than understanding and since it was our first and only time missing an appointment - Stacy told us not to worry about any fee. She instead, was more concerned with my family member's health. Once the Salon moved into their newer location, I attended the Grand Opening. It. Was. FABULOUS!! And so was the amazing goodie bag We ended up setting appointments this week with Alana for facials & dermaplaning. We were planning on getting facials in July but decided to get them now after receiving a text message from Salon Blissful informing us we won some some services which were so generously gifted to us from the Grand Opening Raffle - HOORAY! The only reason I'm giving them one star is because this won't allow me to give them zero Stars. This is the most unethical Salon in Peoria. The hair stylist, Janette, told me the haircut would be $20 because I asked for a dry cut and it was just a very minimal trim. What they charged me was $25. Although I know it's a $5 difference to me it's more the ethical side of it that they did not charge me what the stylist said the charge would be. I went in and spoke to them and they said the stylist told them it's $25. To me the lying and the unethical Behavior is something to question about what else they're doing to other customers. I would not recommend anybody going there. Shame on them for lying and not refunding me the $5. read more

My daughter went in for a haircut and style with Michelle. Backstory she had dyed her hair blue and ended up cutting off all her hair to start over. Now that it's growing out she needed some style. She went in with some pictures of styles she liked. She asked for her to show her how to style it after the cut. She was charged for a man's haircut because that's what she got. No style and it's still out of control. I was hoping that all the wonderful reviews we would have had a great experience. I am sad to say we will not be back. BEWARE!!! This salon has extremely predatory and unprofessional scheduling policies. My mom, who is elderly, needed to consult one of the hair stylists on how to color correct her hair. Turns out this would have been a 5 session process, unless we were lied to in order to extort more money out of the actual process. Wouldn't be surprised if this was the case at this point... Anyway, we were told there was a $50 deposit to schedule our first appointment. What they conveniently don't tell you is if the appointment is canceled with in a 48 hour time window from the time of appointment, for any reason, medical, emergency, etc... your $50 deposit is immediately forfeited even if you are hoping to reschedule vs straight up canceling. My mom made this appointment on February 25th and the appointment was for today February 27th. So obviously there would have been no opportunity to reschedule or cancel in a perfect world scenario without having her deposit forfeited. The stylist who was consulting her, who would have also complete her hair treatment, at no time disclosed this gross predatory policy. Probably because if it were disclosed up front we would have never completed the appointment reservation. My mom needed to cancel today due to medical reasons and out of respect for the salon, we attempted to reschedule first thing in the morning at 8 am being that her appointment was at 12 pm. It was at this time we were made aware of the this heinous policy. From a business perspective, how could you possibly jeopardize the opportunity to earn someone's business because you want to pocket $50 in lieu of an unexpected real life situation. If it really was a 5 session process, you just lost a sale that would have been in the thousands for future business. From a customer service perspective, how could you have the audacity to implement such a predatory policy that has absolutely no consideration for your customer and then fail to disclose this information that would ultimately have a negative impact on your customer monetarily. Its extremely clear that the owner of this salon has no scruples or business sense whatsoever. CONGRATULATIONS, you fooled us. Keep the $50 and hire someone who actually knows how to manage an ethical and successful business or sell it to someone who does. Absolutely disgusting and pathetic business practice. I recently requested info from multiple salons for a full highlight and Salon Blissful was the first to respond. The owner was quick, friendly and honest about pricing, availability, and skill set as I requested someone skilled with curly hair. She scheduled me with Maxine and sent me a link to pay for the deposit. I was welcomed by the receptionist super nice and friendly. There's a coffee station and water area. Salon is clean, well lit, and the temperature was perfect. My stylist Maxine was amazing!! She greeted me and when I say down she took the time to ask me what look I was going for.. she looked at previous pics of my hair. She really put me at ease, I love that she listen to me and gave me her professional opinion on what would look good. Needless to say she killed it! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This is my first Yelp review of my life, I don't give bad reviews ever to businesses. But I am livid. I provided a picture of the cut and coloring I wanted. I even showed the stylist where I wanted my hair cut on my person and she cut it so horribly and way way too short. I was so traumatized that I had to get a friend to cut it and she had to cut it even shorter because of how awful it was cut. I called and asked for $150 back and they only offered a credit-which I didn't find helpful because I don't trust that salon and now have to go pay for extensions. DO NOT GO THERE. SO AWFUL. I'm always happy with my cut and style. My hair has grown so much since my last visit, I'm really happy with it.

I requested an appointment with a stylist who was familiar with short hair, specifically pixie cuts and could provide easy-to-style suggestions, scheduled for 03/02/2024. At the beginning of the appointment, the stylist & I discussed what type of style I was looking for, how I normally style my hair and the desired length. The stylist and I agreed on adding more body to the top, I was clear that I do not like for my hair to stand up/stick out and that I didn't want my bangs much shorter than they already were. The wash and cut went well, I was really enjoying the experience. After my hair was styled, I looked in the mirror and was shocked to see the complete opposite of what I asked for! My hair was spiked and sticking up all over the place, that awful cowlick I have to contend with is standing up like Alfafa. I told the stylist that I didn't like it, that I could see we had different pictures of what adding body would look like and reiterated that I do not like or want my hair sticking up/spiky. She proceeded to try and fix it. Thankfully, she was able to do damage control on the top but not so fortunate on the cowlick - which I have to be embarrassed about and feel blowing all over the place for the next 2-3 weeks. Great. My bangs were cut much shorter than discussed and are completely uneven. I accepted the manager's offer of a discount, as my hair is shorter and I did receive about 35% of what I asked for, I still paid too much. Vanessa, the manager, provided her card and offered assistance in 2-3 weeks when my hair grows out some and we can start to fix. I patiently waited at the front for an available associate to pay. I do not know what inspires someone to be a jerk to a customer who has just had a terrible experience and is visibly fighting back tears over their appearance, but boy was she inspired! I followed the instructions on the credit card machine, removed my card and began to leave thinking the transaction was complete and now I could get in my car and cry and scream because I was beyond frustrated. My hair is not what I asked for, not in a position I can fix it or style it, and I'm going to be looking like a hot mess for weeks!!! The associate then called me back with "ma'am, is there something on the screen?". I returned to the screen, signed, and pushed the button which caused the machine to turn slightly. As I was walking away, she scolded me to be more gentle. The machine is on a pole that swivels, you know the type: when you just try to type a pin number on the pad the machine will sway and turn, way more than I did by pushing the 'complete' button. I would have suggested she try to gain some empathy or customer service skills, but I would never presume to scold her when she was also clearly not having a good day. I appreciated the rebate from Vanessa, but I won't be returning and hope no one else suffers the same experience. read more

I was quoted $50 by the manager and was never informed of the upcharge before my service to $150. After the service I went back in to explain i see no difference and they said a refund was not an option as it is a "no refund" policy i was also not informed of. They offered to fix it for full price with a 15% discount. Extremely disappointed in this as i am a returning customer and came in extremly polite about the situation. They then tried to gaslight me saying its blonde and then proceeded to have another stylist come over to tell me it was "blonde and she loved it". I was crying and did not in any way love my hair and for them to tell me it is blonde is absolutely ridiculous! My response to your response is that if a client walks in to get a service done and you "quote" $50 it is your job to requote if you feel it is a different process. That is completely your fault and lack of communication a quote should never go up $100 from lack of communication. I would have been happy to pay that as well if i could have achieved any sort of blonde but instead you chose to take a "chance " with my hair and charged me for nothing close to blonde. If blonde wasnt going to be achievable that is your place to tell me as a stylist in which i am not educated on what can and cannot be done to my hair and that is why i chose to pay to get it done instead of doing it myself.
