The procedure was on baby teeth, and we asked for standard fillings but she used white, which insurance wouldn't cover. These molars will be falling out in the next year, why use white? Billing department is awful. Takes forever to get back to you when you call. Submitted our claim incorrectly to insurance, so we ended up having to pay the whole bill out of pocket. We later found out that this doctor takes patients who don't have insurance and supplements them by fully billing other patients. We're all for charity, but find other ways to fund it.

Our out-of-pocket responsibility was supposed to be a little over $300. Instead, we were charged more than $1,400 -- an overcharge of more than $1,100. Getting our own money back has been an exhausting process. We made repeated phone calls, sent emails and messages, and spent more than a month trying to get this corrected and refunded. Only after numerous attempts to resolve the issue did they finally begin refunding the money. What concerns me even more is the explanation we received. The office acknowledged that the billing was incorrect and attempted to explain the more than $1,100 discrepancy by saying reimbursement amounts had been entered incorrectly. How does an error of that magnitude occur, result in a patient being charged over $1,400 when they owed roughly $300, and then take more than a month of persistent follow-up to correct? This experience has completely destroyed my trust in this practice and its billing procedures. I am now pursuing formal complaints with the appropriate insurance and state regulatory authorities and consulting with an attorney regarding what occurred. If you are currently a patient or have been a patient here, please check your statements. Compare every charge with your insurance EOB and verify exactly what your patient responsibility should have been. Had we not reviewed ours closely and continued pushing for answers, I don't know when--or if--this discrepancy would have been corrected. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Three Rivers Dental Group.

It was all worth it. I am so glad we went to Dr. McKee. The atmosphere is inviting. The toys in the waiting room are clean and plentiful. There are video games for the older children, puzzles, and an intriguing ball maze that my kids loved. The visit started with toothbrush selection. The hygienist was very patient in explaining all of the instruments to my nervous 6 yr old son, who asked a lot of questions. There was no need to restrain my son because he felt at ease after being reassured by the hygienist; he willingly sat back for the exam and x-rays. I was stunned. The same occurred with my 4 year old daughter who was very apprehensive. She was relaxed and calm. The kids were provided sunglasses with fun characters to shield their eyes from the bright light. They are allowed to select the flavors of toothpaste and fluoride and receive a sticker and a token which is redeemed for a small toy from a vending machine in the waiting room. Dr. McKee was patient and very friendly. My son later told me that the best part of his day was going to the dentist. I enthusiastically recommend Dr. McKee and his staff without hesitation.

Very different procedures but both were amazing experiences. All of our appointments have been prompt. Very little wait if any. Dr. Hitchan is approachable, warm, and knowledgeable. His office staff is friendly but more so, they treat you like a person instead of a number. Diane spent the greater part of a half an hour on the phone with me prior to my 21 yr old daughter's surgery discussing her great anxiety and how to make the process more comfortable for her both emotionally and physically. She took every step she could to make things better for her. When I was unable to go back with her to hold my daughter's hand during surgery prep, Diane promised me she would hold her hand the entire time. She did. During prep and during surgery. When we got to the car to leave, my daughter (under anesthesia) went on and on about Diane being the best person she has ever met in her whollleeee life. :) For her follow-up, I couldn't be there and once again, at the first sign of anxiety, Diane was at her side.
