I sort of stumbled my way here because I had forgotten about this factory but my friend Christina happened to be visiting on a Saturday afternoon and she asked if I wanted to come along so off I went. SERVICE -- I didn't see much guidance so you'll be on your own as you navigate your way around which can be overwhelming so keep that in mind. Also, the parking lot is very large so it may take you some time of driving around before you even find a spot. WINTER HOLIDAY MARKET -- I arrived for their winter holiday market. There were probably over 100 vendors (small businesses) inside the factory selling all sorts of items from candles, to artwork, pottery, t-shirts, etc. I also noticed a small section of food vendors. There is so much to see here that I suggest not coming in on an empty stomach. I hadn't eaten lunch when I arrived and I was starving so I left after 30 mins while my friend Christina left before me because of the large amount of people around. This factory is similar to 78th street studios but the Screw factory is much larger. I was taking a yoga class at nearby Puma Yoga when I randomly noticed Lakewood Art Studios and decided to wander in. What a pleasant, pleasant surprise. Lakewood Art Studios is an artist collective, education and event space in Lakewood. I'm spitballing from memory, but they feature maybe 30+ local artists. Think the most unique pieces of jewelry, art, greeting cards, ceramics and other odds and ends thoughtfully curated in a gallery. You constantly have things to explore and no two things are the same. For me, buying handmade local artisan goods is my weak spot. Seriously, take all my money now. They also offer a variety of classes ranging from photography to portrait drawing and a comic book club, all held in the small classrooms in the back of the shop. This is a pretty special place. I was in a bit of a rush when I visited, but I am already planning to go back out to Lakewood to specially spend more time in Lakewood Art Studios appreciating all the one-of-a-kind pieces. I'll come here to discover new artists for my collection or buy stunning, original gifts for friends!

Community Arts Center is a branch of the Cleveland Museum of Art and houses a gallery with lots of colorful, huge, exciting pieces of art created for and used during the Parade on the Circle! This gallery space is beyond inspiring which upbeat music playing and colors galore. They also have four art rooms decorated with large murals, tables, and art supplies. These rooms are set up with make-and-take art projects that are free to the community and they also offer art classes and events. This was such an amazing find and now I can't wait to bring all my friends here!

I brought a piece to check her out and 2 hrs later with extreme care precision and love she destructed a rice paper tombstone rubbing ( done personally in 1975) without one rip or mistake ! But if you're looking for quality framing services, then this is a great place to find them. We just had a piece framed here, and the work is both esthetically beautiful and highly skilled. The owner is enthusiastic and patient, and interested in undertaking interesting challenges. She carries an extensive stock of frame and mat stock, so you will have lots of choices. And she's friendly and welcoming. Plus, the prices are quite reasonable for quality framing services. The hours are limited, so be sure to check them. So if you have something you've been meaning to frame, take it here. You won't be disappointed.

The Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit was a mixed bag for me; some really good and some not so much. I…read morewaited for the price to come down and went on a Tuesday afternoon after the cost had come down to $20 plus a $7 fee. Lets get some of the basics out of the way. The exhibit is located on the East Side of Cleveland in a converted warehouse space near to the Shoreway. The entrance to the parking lot is on E. 72nd street, but you drive around the building and enter on the E.70th Street side. Parking is $5 which you pay for inside. Since the day was nice, I parked on E.72nd and walked around the building. Once inside you check-in and then can either enter the exhibit or look around the lobby/gift shop. There are some cool pieces to take pictures with and some things to see. The exhibit itself is a large rectangular room about 60 foot wide by 200 foot long. The tall walls have been covered with screens onto which the exhibit is projected. There are projections on the floor, including circles 6 foot apart to allow for social distancing. There are a decent number of benches and folding chairs. While I was there the room had a nice sized crowd, but not overly crowded. The sound is excellent, although it may be a bit loud for some. The exhibit itself runs on a continuous loop of about 30 minutes. Once inside you are allowed to stay as long as you like. The projections vary slightly depending on which wall you are looking at so finding the place you want to be and what you want to watch can be challenging. A major issue with the space is that there are two rows of columns running down the space; to try to deal with this they have covered them with mirrored panels. Unfortunately this means that your view is constantly broken up and disrupted and takes you out of the exhibit. The projections and music is very well done. Technically this is an excellent piece of interactive art. How you enjoy this will vary greatly. To make the piece interactive they have taken Van Gogh's works and altered them in a number of ways. Most of the projections are smaller details of the larger pieces; there is almost no time given to the full pieces. They have added animation and movement to the art. They have also changed some of the colors and illumination levels to create action. As interactive art it is entertaining and compelling, as an actual exhibition of Van Gogh's art it falls far short. I had downloaded the Android App which had a good deal of background information and explanations. Unfortunately I found the app hard to use, especially the audio functions. I was listening to the podcast designed to synchronize with the exhibit, it cut out about half way through and was impossible to get back working. The gift shop had quite a nice selection of items, although prices were hard to find and seemed a bit expensive. Overall I was OK with the Immersive Van Gogh, partially because I waited until the prices had reduced significantly and I avoided the parking fee. If I had paid about $70-$80 I would have felt ripped off. The exhibit itself was really well done from a technical standpoint, I just felt that it did not do full credit to the Van Gogh's genius. I also went at a time when the exhibit was not overly crowded; during prime times it could be challenging. The best part of Immersive Van Gogh is that it has introduced the artist and great art to a much wider audience. The exhibit really highlights the details, the colors and the brushwork of the art, it unfortunately de-emphasizes the full works and the compositions that are a major part of what makes these masterpieces. Since a single company runs the exhibit, leases the building and does the ticketing it feels like they are trying to ring out excessive money with the ticketing fee and parking fee in addition to the cost of the tickets. How you feel about the Immersive Van Gogh will depend on how you approach the exhibit. If you are looking for a real exhibit of Van Gogh's work this is probably not for you. If you are looking at a fairly unique multi-media presentation based on Van Gogh's works, you will probably enjoy it. I would suggest going through the app to get some nice background information.
