This time I really lucked out. Wood Trader cut two mats for me on the spot and a piece of glass, and it cost all of $44. It would have cost double that at the big box craft store (yes, Michael's, I'm talking about you). The service and the vibe are great at the Wood Trader, and it is a woman-owned business. The owner's name is Sara, and she is super helpful. I'd give it more stars if it were possible.

I recently decided it was well beyond time to get a couple of per-matted art prints framed and thought it would be a nice option over Michaels. Because the prints looked standard size, I had bought a couple of frames at the craft store, but upon assembly, it turned out they were about half an inch too small, so off to the framers we go! They were so sweet about working with already matted work in store bought frames, and quoted my $20 to trim and frame my pictures, with pickup over the weekend. The pictures were beautifully and thoughtfully framed and I will return for actual custom work in the future, if I ever finish any of my works in process....

I neglected to ask the price before ordering them thinking how much could they cost? (I had done my own framing years ago and know that the product cost is very little and using my very unprofessional tools it took barely 2 minutes.) My husband picked them up for me and when I looked to see the charge they were $78.54. Can you imagine !!!! I called and spoke with the manager who gave me some guff about how expensive labor it. Right....they have all kinds of professional tools which makes this very fast and inexpensive!!! She offered 10% off which amounted to $7.84. Whoopee! I told her to keep it!

Walt's reputation proceeds him, as he's been in business for decades and does major framing projects for large local companies, the Rock Hall, and other museums. If they can trust him, you can to.
