As a new resident of Fredricksburg, I needed to establish a relationship with a dentist and am interested in getting an implant. I got an appointment with the Neibauer Dental Clinic and was greeted by a receptionist that was not interested in the dental records I handed her from a specialist regarding an implant. She told me that I should go see an oral surgeon-mind you this was not the opinion of the dentist I didn't see. I told her when I called they said they do implants and she agreed they did and again told me I should go make an appointment with an oral surgeon. She was simply not interested in helping me or honoring my appointment with a dentist and essentially showed me the door. I suppose I'm off to find a new dentist since the receptionist decided she didn't want my business. read more

The dentist was fantastic. Dr Jiral was efficient, gentle, and prompt. He addressed concerns professionally. And he wasn't too chatty, its always awkward to have those long one way conversations when you have your mouth wide open and are unable to do anything but half smile and grunt. He has an "old country doctor" vibe and I feel he has a minimalist approach to dental intervention. The office staff on the other hand, I am not so sure about. The assistant and hygienist were both very friendly, almost too friendly. Think mix of stepford wife and used car salesman. Pushing products like the Velscope - an intervention, not covered by insurance, not backed by evidence to screen for oral cancer in a 30 year old without risk factors...and other money making schemes for tooth whitening, mouthguards, sensitivity treatments. I felt like the plan of care was being driven by the hygienist and not the dentist. She would have upsold me on thousands of dollars of unnecessary treatments if I had been willing--too much autonomy given to the assistants. Overall a clean, fast, and friendly trip. Felt more like a shopping mall than a healthcare provider's office. read more

I called to make an appointment. Everything was great they scheduled me an appointment and took my insurance information. They called me back a short bit later and said the information I provided wasn't accurate and they couldn't find my insurance. I then proceeded to send a picture of my card that has literally ALL OF THE INFORMATION ON IT, And the receptionist LIZ said she still couldn't find it. She had an attitude the entire time and was extremely rude. The funny part is when you go to the website on the card it literally shows they're part of my network. I will never be recommending this place to anyone. Hire someone who is helpful and knows how to speak to someone. read more

A change in insurance sent me into a search for a new dentist, and my neighbor recommended this place. Such an amazing staff! I was able to schedule my two kids for the same time and sit in a spot where I could watch them both. The hygienists were really sweet and made the kids feel very comfortable. Of course, the impetus for this review comes from last week, when my husband suddenly woke up with a tooth infection that had swollen the entire right side of his face. I called immediately and they were able to take him in less than two hours, even though he'd never been a patient there. (He's horrible about going to the dentist, which is probably why he ended up with this trouble, but that's a tale for another time.) What really impressed me was that the staff had the friendliness of a small-town company. They'd taken the time to look up my name in the chart, so they greeted me by name as well. After the appointment, I received two different follow-up calls to check on my less-swollen, drugged-up husband, one from the technician and one from the dentist herself, complete with her cell phone number in case of emergency. And during the visit (2 hours of Novocaine and tooth-pulling; teach your kids to brush and floss daily!) someone must have caught my nickname because they now call me "Bernie". It's great to be remembered and cared about. Neibauer definitely made us feel like valued patients instead of names in a database. read more

Bottom line: caveat emptor. Please be careful, especially if you are new to them or have insurance. I and my wife went for separate visits here as new patients, and both of us experienced very aggressive, sustained sales pitches for expensive procedures that were unnecessary. Luckily, my wife has three dental connections within her family and circle of friends--after our appointments at this office we took our X-rays for a second, third, and fourth opinion--and saved over a thousand dollars for doing so. read more

Moving back to VA I had very high expectations on my next dentist. I miss my dentist from Michigan but I have to keep these pearly whites clean!!! The front desk was so nice from when I walked in and I even go to be seen earlier than my appointment time! The hygienist, the dentist were all great! The cleaning was great, not too rough on my teeth and she always made sure I was comfortable. The area is very clean and sanitary, they have televisions so you can watch tv while your teeth are being clean and I loved that they give you glasses to wear because that light is super bright. This is the first time a dentist has given me glasses to wear so that the light wouldn't hurt my eyes. I would recommend anyone to this dentist...great service, very professional and I felt great after I left. I'll be back in 6 months! read more

I had such an amazing experience today with this office!! Not going to lie I hate the dentist (not sure of anyone that LOVES the dentist unless your related to them ;) lol) any who.. I arrive at the office and there is a lady in the waiting room with her 3 children that she is letting run wild while she keeps telling the oldest how unprofessional this office is cause they "lost her chart". That made me super nervous at how professional these people really were... welp turns out they are VERY professional, funny and easy going! I've never enjoyed a trip to the dentist but I can honestly say that because of the staff that I am looking forward to my visit back in 6 months!! Keep it up you wonderful people!! read more

I have had a number of visits to dentist offices before, but none like this one. From the time that you call for an appointment, the excellent customer service starts! They always answer the phone with a chipper smile in their voice. The appointments start on time....you know...none of that dreaded waiting 30 minutes to be seen. You watch tv while they work on your mouth. They really all are a pleasure. I HIGHLY recommend them. read more

My billing issue was resolved, and at no cost to me. I think there's been some changes in the front office & things are running smoothly now. They even billed our medical insurance to cover an outstanding balance, so we didn't have to pay anything. read more

I was a patient at Neibauer for almost a year when I received a call saying they will give me a filling for a discounted price of $21. I aggreed to get it done and went in the following saturday to receive my filling. After the filling was completed I went out to pay the previously agreed $21 just to find out that it is now $60. They claimed that the $21 was for in store and the rest will be billed to me. Bait and switch is all that is, I am never stepping foot in that dentist office again. read more

What a terrible office...... My whole family went, and somehow each of us (including the kids) had such terrible teeth that we all had treatment plans that were several thousand dollars. They tried to sell us very aggressively not taking no for an answer but offering various payment plans and pressuring us to take care of our smile or we would basically be toothless. We walked out and got a second opinion. We do have a few cavities and whatnot, but the second dentist said that most of what we were told were lies and basically we would have helped neibauer make their monthly goal. Monthly goal? No thank. I want someone who cares about me, not the money. read more
