They have a nice selection of different types of trees and the folks there are more than happy to find the best one for your needs. (Did you know that each type of tree needle has a different pro/con like a stronger smell or needles that last longer? Well, I do now.) Beyond the nice tree they also sell wreaths and those cute little reindeer made out of logs. Plus the people that work here are super nice. And, as if you need more reason to buy a tree from here, they will deliver your tree to your house and put it up in your stand, including trimming and branches that need to be taken off, for a mere $35. For me that was quite a deal. The costs run on the pricier side and of course go up as the trees get taller, but since they are a local Colorado company I don't mind paying more to support them. The place is MASSIVE!! Lots going on everywhere. TONS of plants and there are even random fake plants which was funny to me for some reason! Basically now I know where I can get a replacement plant for whatever plant just died in my apartment! They have a wide and abundant variety of indoor and outdoor plants! They also have a boutique selection of retail merch which was interesting to browse and it also seemed like there was a farmers market and freezer section! It's a great place to go if you need a floral break and need to immerse yourself in colorful petals and greenery! The staff was super friendly and I really loved seeing so many plants that I had really never seen before! The giant cacti were also really cool - something I would save my pennies for! I understand this is a large garden center and the staff fields a lot of questions daily, but that's no excuse for the treatment I received. When I asked for help, I was met with eye rolls, dismissive attitudes, and responses that felt rushed and unhelpful. The rudeness was hard to miss and made what should have been an enjoyable Sunday errand feel like an ordeal. I want to support local businesses, and I had high hopes for this place given its reputation. But basic customer respect shouldn't be too much to ask. I left feeling unwelcome and honestly a bit deflated. I hope management takes staff attitude seriously -- it can make or break a customer's experience.

Once upon a time Denver was the world's Carnation Capital and City Floral a major producer of…read moreminiature carnations (and other cut flowers) for the wholesale market. An employee in the mid-1950s had the idea of selling the lower grade flowers to the public. Cheap carnations ($1 a dozen) soon led to lots of foot traffic to the greenhouses which motivated adding additional plants and other retail items. South American competition led to the decline of U.S. cut flower production and City Floral sold the last carnation in 1985, adapting to become a full retail garden center with a landscaping design/build operation. The greenhouses date back to the original cut flower facility built in 1911. This was expanded for retail sales in 1976. The office and warehouse facilities on the west side were added in 1990. This is the oldest remaining greenhouse in Denver. The current facility is packed with every possible goodie for the gardener/landscaper including flowers, fruits, vegetables, plants, trees, shrubs, a huge variety of containers, statuary, tools, and supplies. There's a large succulent section and a good collection of bonsai. Services include tips and education on plant care, pest and disease diagnosis, plant identification, custom container potting, delivery, in-store repotting, plant rentals, an interior design partnership program, and comprehensive landscaping design and construction. I've had the past notion that City Floral was a bit pricy, but I found them very competitive on price in 2026. The products are top quality and the staff is exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. This is a fantastic facility and very convenient for those of us who live in central Denver.

Lyman went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from the perfect tree, to the rightsized stand and the best looking wreath for our front door. This was our 3rd time at Columbine Christmas Trees and it had been several years since we last shopped with them. Whomever is responsible for hiring Lyman and his staff needs to be given an award for hiring the most awesome crew in the tree selling business. The lot looks spectacular this year and better than I remembered it. Such a friendly staff, great prices, a good variety of trees and wonderful customer service. If you aren't getting your trees from Lyman and his team you aren't doing Christmas tree shopping the right way. Hope to see Lyman and all of this year's staff back again next year. The lot its self is nicely laid out and trees are grouped by size. All the trees looked healthy and green. I do know (by having tried to compost old Christmas trees in my back yard) that some places will spray paint the needles green. I asked prior to purchasing my tree and was told they do not spray paint the tree. Great experience.

We were browsing for about 10 minutes, and decided on a 5" tree.. When my husband went to pay, suddenly we heard this very short man whom earlier greeted us (which I assume to be the OWNER,) screaming and threatening a girl in the parking lot. The small man was waving his fists at her, demanding her to leave immediately. The girl was shouting back, saying she would not leave until he paid her. He began to argue "YOU DON'T DESERVE MY MONEY! YOU SHOWED UP 20 MINUTES LATE EVERYDAY!" she was visibly upset, exclaiming he hadn't paid her and several other employees for weeks. He said it 'wasn't his problem', and they showed up 'late' as well. There were about 10 other people and children watching these two fight, eventually most of them (including us) got back into our car and left. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY or BUSINESS HERE.
