I needed some fragrance and I saw an even Marcus and I walked in into my surprise it was empty however I took the escalator all the way to the third floor and cosmetics and there it was Paula this lovely blonde girl with the green dress and I was wondering around asking for this fragrance company befredo. I'm a school city boy I still like to go to a department store such as Neiman's Sacks Lorton Tailor, where you have people on the floor that know what they're selling and they're educated In customer service by the brand. On that note, I not very often use my card so she continue to get the items that I needed and looked at my account and were successful in the main time. She knew that I had laryngitis. She offered me a water and a throat lozenge. Paul was charming and bubbly and willing to help. I will never forget her. My girlfriend and I visited on 12/24 and had the worst interaction with an employee representing Sisley. My partner wanted to ask a question regarding a product she had bought in another store which was not Neiman Marcus. The older women who could have been her grandmother was rude, aggressive and utterly disrespectful. When she found out we had purchased this from a different retailer she abrasively spoke down to her. She made a point of telling us the other store was ruining her business She continued to be abrasive toward her and stated we weren't helping her business and "nice to meet us " as she tried to dismiss us She then tried to back track herself but it was to late Very disappointed as every other Sisley employee has been amazing! read more

After extensively researching perfumes, I decided to go into Neiman's, (as they were the only store in Boston to have this fragrance) to try it and get a sample. I drove an hour for a sniff and a sample. Not one service person assisted me and my mother who came with me. When I asked for the one sample, they said they ran out of bottles, simply meaning they don't give them out at all. I'm sorry, but if I am spending $600 on a perfume, I expect the best service. This store is an embarrassment to Boston. The same thing also occurred while in the clothing department. The woman at the counter rolled her eyes at me when I asked to use the fitting room. She acted as if I was a burden to her. This was the most condescending experience I have ever had. The Neiman's and Barney's in NYC are not like this at all. FIVE STARS for this particular men's salesperson, his last name was Jean (I forgot his first name, sorry man). As someone who frequents Nordstrom and Bloomies, this was my FIRST TIME into a Neiman Marcus, and if it wasn't for the gentleman who made my sale, this review would be ONE STAR. Mr. Jean was absolutely fantastic, he was very personable and made us feel welcome and want to come back. HOWEVER I WILL NOT COME BACK to this location without this issue being addressed, another reviewer posted about this salesman years ago and he is still there, and he made my girlfriend and I feel uncomfortable and out of place. For somebody who works in a retail store, I'm sure he'd get many more sales without a sour, judgmental attitude. As I approached the shoe section and looked at some Balenciaga's, it seems he judged me by my "Jordan's" and did not acknowledge me once. I immediately left the area to the men's clothing and the gentleman appeared to have stepped into view to watch my girlfriend and I for what appeared to be a loss prevention measure. I assure you we were not out of place. We ultimately went to the Theory section from which I made my purchase. I love it here but you have to be careful because it can get very pricey. It is not a bad sized location and I like the way the store is laid out. The displays of clothing are beautiful and the fitting rooms never have a bunch of clothes just sitting around on the floor and in the dressing rooms like you see in a lot of other places. Their beauty counters are really nice although there doesn't seem to be as many counters as you might see in Bloomingdale's. The people taking care of the counters always quite a pleasure to deal with and they do a great job on my skin and on my makeup when I have them try new products on me. The women's clothing is always gorgeous and the quality is top of the line. read more

There is no real "curbside pick location". So I hustled off from the side of the road. I get home... yep, that's not what I ordered. Called the store. Ordered a shirt online to be picked up tonight, 1/16, and when I did, they wouldn't give it to me bc you need an ID and the credit card you purchased it with. I didn't have the credit card on me and they wouldn't budge. I had all other forms like business cards, other credit cards but to no avail. The customer rep told me to call the online dept which I did and they told me to talk with the store manager. Store manger said I need my ID and a passport. Who carries a passport with them on a daily basis??? I'm telling you, it's easier to open a bank account than to pick up a shirt that I paid over $200 for. THIS WAS NOT A PARTY...IT WAS A FUNERAL. Was I supposed to give my condolences to them on the way out? I attended Neiman Marcus's "Fashion's Night Out Party" event...or at least I think I did...I mean, I unsuccessfully tried to... If you attend an event, and noone sees you, were you really there? I read their ad in Boston Magazine, and then I recieved an email invitation via what appeared to be an expensive email promotion. The invite enticed me with the chance to "meet fashion icon Grace Apfel...learn the art of creative layering...and discover Grace Ormonde's debut book signing...music...cocktails...light bites & more." Sound like fun? It did to me...until I arrived. I entered the store about 6:30 to find some sort of wedding make-over event happening. This was not mentioned in my invite and I wrote it off as a separate event for people wanting make-overs to discover new tips. I lingered, looked and strolled past the Make-over Central entrance, catching the eyes of several sales people and make-up artists along the way. Disturbingly, not ONE smiled back at me, let alone greeted me as I walked by. (*NOTE*: I live in the Back Bay, and understand the judgement based on dress code that thrives here. I was in DIOR & CHANEL.) I took a tour of the entire downstairs, and saw NO SIGNS OF MY EVENT, other than an aloof DJ playing music. So, I shopped for awhile...still no salesperson made contact. Finally, I saw 2 clerks set up a TINY, END TABLE with a few glasses & bottle of wine on it, and a SMALL STANDEE LABELED "Fashion's Night Out." I walked by, paused, and smiled. Again, I was ignored. I took one last look around the "party" AKA empty store except for a few people getting make-overs...and took a slow stride to the exit. Neiman Marcus is simply awesome. Every time I visit their shoe department I can barely keep myself from swooning. Fortunately, one of the guys in the shoe department knows exactly what I like and texts me photos of the newest and most fabulous shoes as they come in. I also love their fragrance department, some of which can only be found at Neiman's, and I still have a Carlos Falci wallet that I bought there 27 years ago....and it is still in great shape. As for snooty sales people, I have never had this experience. I think they remain aloof so they don't seem overly intrusive. The only issue I have ever had at Neiman's was that they USED TO only accept AMEX, a fact that was recently remedied. Even if Neiman Marcus is beyond your means, you should stop in when they have sales as you can get some incredible deals. read more

The ONE star that I will give the Chanel store- is because of Princess, who sold me a Chanel Brooch today, and went above and beyond to make sure that I was a satisfied customer. HOWEVER, The experience that I had while shopping for a bag was HORRENDOUS. ANDY was the sales specialist that day. He repeatedly informed me that everything was out of stock, and that he could not show me any bags (mind you, I cam back two days later and was informed that, that was a total lie- I suppose he profiled me and assumed that I would not be making a purchase). He was EXTREMELY rude, passive, and dismissive. I would have never went back to this location, if it were not for Princess. Now, I will be buying a classic, double flap (jumbo) from her this week. I get that Neiman Marcus is upscale & sells everything over the average price of basically anything they have in stock but with that being said you'd think the customer service/sales people would be a lot more people friendly & people oriented, they most certainly are NOT people friendly whatsoever in the Boston Neiman Marcus store! There's an older heavy set woman w blonde hair (I believe her name is Mary) she works in the dress department, & she is by far one of the rudest people I've ever had the misfortune of meeting, & not even just sales people I've met but people on a whole that I've met in my entire life. She actually YELLED (YES YELLED, that's not an over exaggerated fact) at me when I hung a clothing item I had in the fitting room w me on the door slats which I absolutely did because she was watching me undress!!! So while I absolutely understand that Neiman Marcus carries some very expensive clothes, & the sales people that work there have to be diligent w both sales & asset protection however there is NEVER a reason to be watching customers in different states of undress in a fitting room! This is not only very much against any stores policy but it's actually illegal to infringe upon someone else's privacy in this way. Because again I hung one single item out of the many items I was trying on on the inside of the dressing room door because I could actually SEE this very strange very creepy rude woman watching me take my clothes off & try the dresses on. If it WAS legal to do this why even have dressing rooms?!? If this was company policy than we could all just strip down where were standing in the middle of the store & try things on not inside a fitting room! THAN as if that wasnt bad enough I also had something I was returning, however I was also purchasing another much more expensive dress than the one I was returning, so I was actually looking to do an exchange & pay the ridiculous amount of price did there was & "Mary" told me the dress I had already bought was a final sale & said "it says it's a final sale on the receipt!" It did NOT say it was a final sale anywhere on my receipt. There's always a red stamp on receipts indicating final sale, which is more evidence that I USED to shop & spend money in this store quite often, & there was absolutely nothing on this receipt to back up what "Mary" was claiming & because at this point she had been so ridiculously rude, Intrusive, creepy, & downright nasty I no longer even wanted to do business inside this store. And such a high end store that appears to be struggling with the lack of customers they had in there during a peak time vs Saks which is at the other end of the prudential center in Boston, & every time I shop at Saks I'm treated like an actual human being not a person about to squat & cough in a women's prison while being watched while standing there naked, I will NEVER shop at Neiman Marcus ever again because of "Mary". & hopefully someone sees this before the store is finally forced to close their doors because they've had to file bankruptcy due to lack of sales. Neiman Marcus pulled it off again, their annual spring fling! The first Hello Stiletto shoe event I ever went to was Kentucky Derby themed at Neiman Marcus for their spring fling. We sipped on mint juleps and enjoyed all the expensive shoes around us. This time the theme was Valentines day and everyone was encouraged to wear their finest red heels. I wished I was in a good enough situation that I could splurge on my very first pair of Louboutin's because they are just so perfect this season. Girl's, the latest trends are: blue shoes are a must and wedge heels are absolutely still in. Got any exotic shoes with leopard skin? Bring those out too! So, all in all, this event was truly another success and the Neiman Marcus staff was excellent. Vicky and Gordon were running around helping the ladies try on and purchase some new trendy shoes. As per usual, there were some gifts to be given out. Three lucky ladies won Manolo Blahnik shoe paintings, painted by his truly. Sure, everything is expensive here but you're paying for great brands that will last a lifetime. They are plenty of sales people around so if you don't see something in your size then be sure to ask someone to check their back stock room because most likely they will have it. Most of the sales people are super nice and they genuinely want to help because they are working on commission so they will go out of their way for you. I was mistreated by John in the La Mer counter. He was sexist & racist towards me. When I tried to understand the La Mer promotion & went to the store on September 6 during my lunch hour, he talked to me like I was an illiterate, ignorant person who needed to be spoken to slowly & loudly. In a condescending tone he said, "the PROMOTION IS IF you spend $300, then YOU will GET the GIFT!!!" I was so embarrassed, I walked away quietly. When I thought about it that night, I got angrier & angrier not just for myself, but all the other innocent non-English speaking shoppers who should be treated with dignity (especially at a fancy, expensive establishment like Neiman Marcus!!!). I waited a few days to calm myself down but could not forget this treatment. Especially with all the # me too voices standing up. So, on September 13, I called Neiman Marcus Boston & asked for the cosmetics manager, Tiffany, who very politely listened to me & said she would counsel John when he returned from vacation. Coincidentally, a few weeks later, I went back to the store & asked for Tiffany who came & chatted with me. Once she realized I was the unhappy customer who has called her, she tried placating me by saying she had counseled John. So I asked her if we could have a conversation, where I tell him how I felt when he mistreated me. She told me to wait at the La Mer counter & returned with the store manager, Kim They both listened to my grievances & again I asked for them to call John so I can convey my feelings in front of them. The store manager got upset with me!!!! She said she was going to "revoke my public invitation to come to Neiman Marcus." I want Neiman Marcus to go examine the security cameras on Sept. 6 between 1-2pm & October 4, 2-3pm when I had "lovely" interactions with their lovely staff. Thank you very much. These used to be the Mecca of retail bathrooms - clean, private, dark wood-lined stalls; nice slat vents on the front door to each stall for nice air flow; plush toilet paper that you could sleep on; bright fixtures; and wonderful hardware. It's fallen a bit just because it's been around for a while and is starting to look the part. It's still a player on the Boston bathroom scene, though. This place is totally hit or miss. I feel like I'm at the original Filene's Basement when I come in. You think the prices are disgusting (and a lot of them are), but when they have a sale, it's a goldmine. I totally was going to stop in on my lunch break yesterday, but my boss turned into Scrooge, and I didn't have time. I stopped in at 7:00 o'clock, and most of the jeans that were marked down, were only for really fat men. :( They still had a ton of other things that were on sale w/ an extra 25-33% off! I got the cutest hoodie. I want to wear it to the Sear's portrait studio, and have some wallet size pix taken for my friends. The staff can be really helpful, or a little too helpful. Two of them fought over my sale one time, like I was at a used car lot. :'( The clerk that rang me up yesterday almost seemed a little coked out, but still very helpful. One time I was trying on jeans next to Jonathan Papelbon, and had to resist jumping into his fitting room. Another time, I was offered champagne whilst passing through during my lunch, and I didn't even buy anything. ThANkIEzZzz! ;*) They may not have "funky" visual merchandising to appeal to the younger crowd, but they still carry amazing designers and clothing. On another visit, they had a fashion show playing on a screen, and I could hear The Undertones playing in the background. That's pretty hip, if you ask me. Four words to consider: Buy it on Sale Neimans is a curious place. They only accept their store charge and Amex, an interesting combo since most people have MasterCard and Visa. Amex is also the most expensive card to process, but whatever They actually have a fairly decent men's department IF you have a ton of discretionary income OR you buy it on sale. Unlike my experience at the Saks on the other end of the walkway, the one I had here was great! Was greeted warmly as we walked in and then I got stuck in the perfume department. No that that was a bad thing, it was great. The woman assisting me in the Creed perfume section was great and if it wasn't for not being able to pack it on the plane (then again I could've had it shipped - oh well!) there was this one scent that I was in love with! She even had the Creed representative come out and speak with me while we were there. Then it was on to the contemporary department and if that Vince silk shirt hadn't been too large it was going to be mine! The service in that department was great! Offered us water, set up a dressing room, checked on us in the room (yeah, hubs came in with me to help zip up dresses and give thumbs up or down). It was a very good experience. I bought a new suit for a wedding. Very helpful salesman rang me up and arranged the tailor. He bragged that he used to be the tailor at Louis Boston so he's used to working on highend suits. The same Louis Boston that went out of business ten years ago due to mismanagement? During the wedding, I ate too much(just kidding) and split my pants(not kidding). Emergency repair consisted of duct tape, as always. Then the pant leg helm came apart. Next my wife said the jacket looked skewed to the right side like I was a walking stroke victim(sorry, no disrespect). the left side seam stitch was coming apart. The sleeves felt flimsy and no working sleeve button holes were made on this highend suit. I stopped by and saw an aquaintance I knew when I shopped at Louis, Boston, Bob Daley. After telling him about the Fall-Apart Suit, he was not at all sympathetic about the situation and wanted to re-tailor it. If an auto-mechanic botched a brake job on your BMW, would you trust him to attempt a second try?? He said if I didn't spend $4K on the suit(I spent $3999), I'm not entitled to detailed tailoring(just minor alterations). That's fine, so I took the suit to a local custom tailor who ended up redoing and repairing the hack job Neimans did. There was no lining in the side and sleeves. Plastic thread on the pants coming apart?? The sleeves were redone with proper cut button holes. Cheap cotton thread was removed and substituted with silk thread. So much work to rectify the incompetance of D-League tailors. I will never buy another suit from them beacuse of the principle of their bad customer service and incompetance.
