This is a little hole in the wall diner, the kind everyone always looks for when they travel, there is smoking allowed however the food is amazing, I had the big hog breakfast and my wife had the breakfast feast. Just a tip when they ask if you want had browns or fried fries, they mean breakfast potatoes, I got the hash browns and my wife got the breakfast potatoes, the breakfast potatoes had great flavoring. Now let's get to my big hog breakfast it was delicious, the ham was seasoned to perfection and it covered 1 whole plate, which I ate it all, and my food was so good I did not even ask how my wife's was but she did say it was good too. The food was good the coffee was hot and the service was amazing what else can you ask for in a small home town diner?? Not a clean place. You have to go past the grill and the kitchen, to take wonky stairs to the bathroom. Not recommended.

They have El Sombrero recipes!!! OMG it was delish! Enchiladas are spot on and so are the chips and salsa. Service was good. Space is small and quaint. Would like to try the rice next time. They were out by the time we got there. Will be back! read more

What can I say about this place!!! Wow!!! Friendly staff and delicious food. The inside is a bit tight when you walk in but they do have plenty of seating. The staff was all so friendly and really knew they sizes. The ham is huge, but oh my so good. You will need to share and still take it home. The pancakes also very tasty. My husband enjoyed his cheese burger and the coffee was nice and hot and very smooth. Not the typical bitter coffee you get at most diners. No sir this place has some very tasty and strong coffee. The decor is fun and it really takes you back. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Hi love this diner. It was so cute inside and everything a diner should be. Extremely catchy extremely pink and lots of pigs, everywhere, statues and signs and all sorts of things. The portions were huge. My son got a delicious hash with sausage and cheese in it and a giant pancake. It had to be 12 inches across and a half an inch thick. I enjoy the simpler breakfast of fried eggs and chicken fried steak and some toast and it was all delicious. The people were friendly, and the food was cooked right in front of you. read more

Good home cooking in a family type atmosphere. It reminds us of Cheers... Everybody knows your name. We eat there three or four times a week. Dixie, the owner, is usually there sitting at the counter to welcome you in the door. There is a crowd of regulars that seem to be there every time we walk in the door. Now we've become part of that crowd. The "tenderloin Tuesday" special has to be seen to be believed. It covers the whole plate! Breakfast is always available too. The ONLY reason we can't give it a five star rating is the cigarette smoke. But, you'll notice it sure doesn't keep us from going back again and again. We just throw our clothes in the dryer when we get home for ten minutes and all is well. Well, gotta get the wife up so we can go to Nellie Belles for Saturday morning breakfast. This time I'm going to have "The Kitchen Sink" omelette. New date, different breakfast... This time I got The Big Piggie. No way you can eat it all. A few thoughts: - Breakfast menu was as old school as the scenery including asking if you want gravy on your hash browns. - Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. - Food was good and coffee was decent. - Two people were smoking within a few tables of us and the small diner was filled with smoke as a result. If not for the sign urging you to stop on by when you get off I-35, you'd easily miss Nell Belle's, as it's sort of hidden from the street. And that's kind of a shame. Not mean sass, though; these girls are quite friendly. The patrons are decidedly blue collar, many of them local or workers at the nearby Ford plant. The place is not huge. You can either belly up to one of the half dozen seats at the counter or go further back and choose from about six to eight booths. Now for the food. I've been to many diners and a good half are places to go when you're drunk... the food is that bad. This place exceeded expectations. You're not going to get a 5-star meal but you will get a good meal and more than your money's worth. Check out the daily specials. The Tuesday pork tenderloin is easily the size of Shaqille O'Neal's head, maybe bigger, plus it comes with fries. Price? $4.99. Really? Where do you get that these days. Plus they serve breakfast all day. Biscuit and gravy fan? Yeah, you can get that here. This is what places like Happy Gillis shamelessly try to be as they cater to their hipster crowds. Nell Belle's is none of that. There are no hipsters, no trying too hard and definitely no airs of pretension. I was going to tell you that the biscuits and gravy are the best over anywhere else. But honestly I will be honest there is not ANY thing on the menu that is not good. Cause I have had absolutely everything that they have on the menu.. I told them that there was a issue with the star rating. Cause it will not let me turn on any more of them. I went here a few times for a very early breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by their quality of food. It's one of the best options in the area, and has a better selection thank most of the diner style restaurants. The only potential drawback was that people can smoke in restaurant, which just caught me off guard. Even with that said, I still had a few good meals here! read more

Loved the staff at this place. They were very funny and welcoming. The place is decorated with classic diner stuff that keeps your eyes entertained. Our party of 4 ordered a variety of things off of the breakfast and lunch menu. Everyone was very pleased with their food. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because they allow smoking inside. Definitely an "old school" diner. It was full of people - there is not a lot of space, about 6 stools at the bar, and 8 or 9 4-people booths. Decor was fun and VERY full of Christmas decorations. Food is yummy and service is good BUT the smoking took away from the overall experience. Since it is so small, there is no way to get away from the smoky smell. I think we lucked out with so few people smoking while we were there. Only go if you can tolerate the smoke. I will go back only when there is no smoking. read more
