Cheese Enchiladas and tacos. Side of chips and salsa. Delish!!

They have El Sombrero recipes!!! OMG it was delish! Enchiladas are spot on and so are the chips and salsa. Service was good. Space is small and quaint. Would like to try the rice next time. They were out by the time we got there. Will be back!

Cute classic little place for a down home meal. Very small and cozy duvet but in a good way! They have very friendly service with great conversation. close to the Ford plant so lots of Ford decorations. Smoking is allowed if that's ur thing Claycomo is one of the last hold outs on that. The food is really good just what u would expect from a diner. Prices aren't bad especially for what u get, very good value.

What can I say about this place!!! Wow!!! Friendly staff and delicious food. The inside is a bit tight when you walk in but they do have plenty of seating. The staff was all so friendly and really knew they sizes. The ham is huge, but oh my so good. You will need to share and still take it home. The pancakes also very tasty. My husband enjoyed his cheese burger and the coffee was nice and hot and very smooth. Not the typical bitter coffee you get at most diners. No sir this place has some very tasty and strong coffee. The decor is fun and it really takes you back. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Pancakes and sausage hash with cheese

Hi love this diner. It was so cute inside and everything a diner should be. Extremely catchy extremely pink and lots of pigs, everywhere, statues and signs and all sorts of things. The portions were huge. My son got a delicious hash with sausage and cheese in it and a giant pancake. It had to be 12 inches across and a half an inch thick. I enjoy the simpler breakfast of fried eggs and chicken fried steak and some toast and it was all delicious. The people were friendly, and the food was cooked right in front of you.

    Location and owner

Great comfort food and warm hospitality. The breakfast was the best value. Dixie the owner was very sweet and our server Amy was on it and friendly. For locals and visitors I recommend you get there.

This is by far the greatest breakfast I have eaten since my grandmother passed. Home cooking at its finest. The smell was g this place brings me back. Smoke em if ya gottem !!!

Good photo op. Should've just stayed outside.

Cute place- love the pink outside, but the food is nothing special, plus they allow smoking everywhere!!! It's so shocking! There's another review that mentions this too- I'm in the same boat- I had no idea there were restaurants that still allowed smoking. Even in most bowling alleys around town they've prohibited smoking. But I guess if you want to go to a pink painted diner with boring food that smells like an ashtray, this is your place!

When Dixie isn't welcoming you at the door she can be found with a coffee pot keeping everyone's cup full.

Not a clean place. You have to go past the grill and the kitchen, to take wonky stairs to the bathroom. Not recommended.

The City Diner is outstanding! They definitely have their locals and regular customers, but we're also welcoming to us as first timers. Our waitress was jovial and courteous, and answered all of our silly questions. My wife had a half order of biscuits and gravy. I had a double cheeseburger, which was enormous. Those patties are no joke. I would get a single next time. Thankfully, it did not come with fries or tots as that would've been entirely too much food. I could hardly finish it, and I was ravenous. We want to come back and try other things here. It will not take a long time before we return. My wife loved her biscuits and gravy, and she is from the south. The biscuits were pillowy, soft and flaky. We have found our divvy diner that we love. The City Diner opened in 1937. One taste of their food and you'll know why they've been around almost 90 years.

The options are endless (seriously, you'd have to stay all day to try everything), but that's the fun of it--trying a little of everything. Crispy bacon, made-to-order eggs, and flavorful breakfast potatoes with peppers were all on point. They also go way beyond breakfast--fried chicken, mac and cheese, fresh fruit, salads, shrimp with cocktail sauce, and tons of desserts. And being inside Union Station makes it even better. It's beautiful, spacious, and open, with high ceilings that make it feel like you're not even in the Midwest. Come hungry--you'll want to try it all.

Union Station is absolutely beautiful and worth stopping in to see if you've never been there! We knew we were going to visit the station and looked up restaurants to see if anything looked good. Harvey's menu caught our eyes, with its southern flare, and luckily didn't require reservations. My grandmother, Aunt, and myself were all seated quickly, and our waitress asked for and brought us our drinks out super fast. The restaurant was a little loud seeing as how it's inside of a train station full of people! With that being said, I've been in louder restaurants and this wasn't that bad. I ordered Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles with a cup of Gumbo, my Aunt ordered the Gourmet Grilled Cheese with Sweet Potato Fries, and my grandma ordered a Prime Rib French dip. We all shared hot pimento cheese dip. First of all that cheese dip was to die for. I've only ever had cold pimento cheese and was not a fan... obviously it's because hot pimento cheese is the way to go!!! My Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles was amazing. I think the waffle batter needed a little salt, but otherwise it was perfect. The gumbo was a little spicy and packed with flavor... just the way I like it!! My grandma's French dip thankfully on soft bread for her to eat, and the meat was sliced thin enough for her to chew. My auntie ordered the gourmet grilled cheese, and that thing was on firrreeee!! Her sweet potato fries came with a side of marshmallow fluff that had cinnamon in it, she was literally scraping the cup of that clean! We noticed they have a breakfast buffet on the weekends and one coming up for Mother's Day, that we might make reservations for!!! The food was fantastic and we seriously can't wait to go back for more.

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and our food came out quickly. I ordered a turkey club while my dad got one as well, and unfortunately we both had the same issue. The turkey was on the dry side, and it was sliced much thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like a thinner deli-style sliced turkey, so it just wasn't my favorite sandwich. My mom ordered one of the salads though, and honestly it looked better than my sandwich. It was loaded with fresh toppings, and she said the ranch was excellent. If I come back, I'd probably skip the sandwich altogether and give one of the salads a try. Overall, I can definitely appreciate what they're going for. The prices are fantastic, honestly unheard of in present day, and that's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3. It's a true local spot, and I wouldn't mind giving it another chance to try something different from the menu.

The star of the show is their legendary pork tenderloin sandwich, don't do pork you could get it in chicken or fish version!! . The pickles, onions, tomatoes , and that famous house hot sauce take it to a whole different level. That hot sauce is pure magic -- tangy, spicy, and the perfect kick that ties the whole sandwich together. Every bite is messy in the best possible way, and honestly that's how you know it's done right. It's the kind of sandwich that makes you stop mid-bite and just appreciate how good it is.
