The Laos House is one of the newest tenants in the Iron District container park. Their loaded fries with shrimp were amazing! Definitely worth a visit in already amazing food district.

My buddy got the loaded fries with brisket queso, steak, and brisket, and they were amazing. That brisket queso had an awesome smoky flavor, and the portions on everything were HUGE. We were both impressed with how much food we got, and everything tasted fresh and packed with flavor. It is definitely on the pricey side, but with the portion sizes and quality of the food, I'd say it was worth it. My only real complaint was the small seating area, and the wait was pretty long. That said, they're upfront about it...they make everything fresh and even warn you that they "aren't fast food." So if you're willing to wait, I'd definitely recommend giving The UpperCut KC a try. Great food and huge portions!

This place has so many meat and seafood options for sale and a restaurant. Chilean sea bass was on the fresh today menu. We decided to treat ourselves. Everyone in the restaurant/store was so nice! We tried out the restaurant. My husband had the "Mariah's Badass Boss Burrito." It has lobster, crab, shrimp, and Wagyu steak. He ordered fries, which were unfortunately doggy. He said the burrito was good. I had the Teal Tide steak wrap. First of all, that "wrap" was massive. I would call it a burrito more than a wrap, ha ha. It has grilled Wagyu steak, feta cheese, beef bacon, crispy onion straws, and blueberry-jalapeño bacon jam on a rosemary tortilla. I ordered mine without the onion straws. The steak was flavorful and tender and the blueberry-jalapeño bacon jam is addicting! I ordered a side of their coleslaw and it is one of the best coleslaw recipes I've ever eaten!!! The next night, I cooked the Chilean sea bass using an online recipe for both of us. Talk about treating oneself: the filets didn't taste frozen. They were buttery and rich!!! So good!!! My husband and I loved them. Thank you for brightening up our weekend, The Upper Cut!!! You've gained two new customers.

We shared the following and everything was very good: * Fried calamari: I liked the sweet chili sauce that dressed it rather than the traditional romesco sauce. * Crab cakes: The sweet-and-sour 'slaw and horseradish-mustard aioli were great accompaniments to the crab cakes. * Lobster bisque: This thick soup was full of lobster flavor...and butter flavor...and heavy cream flavor. * Filet mignon: I have had better steak elsewhere, but it was still good. * Carrot cake: There were 10 thin layers of alternating cream cheese and carrot cake, with a pineapple syrup drizzle. I would say this was one of the best carrot cakes I have ever had. I can't wait to return and try their rooftop lounge.

Basically, there were no vegan options, except for the vegetable roll. I ordered that plus a bunch of vegetable sides. My server/bartender did due diligence to make sure they were all cooked in oil, no butter or animal fat. Really appreciated that touch of service. Started with the Bubbles & Berries cocktail, which is a hit because of the presentation using dry ice to give it a dramatic bubbling appearance. However, the drink is overall very sweet with the fresh berries & champagne. I could feel the impending hangover, so I didn't finish it. Although I didn't have a full portion vegan entree, I was plenty full with all my sides, which I did half orders of. Everyone at the bar is super friendly, and there seems to be a lot of regulars who know each other. I easily made friends. Bartenders were all amazing. Extra kudos to Denise, the private events manager. I booked a private room for my clients, and we did customized menus. They had a spectacular dinner and loved it. It was the highlight meal of their trip.

The ambiance is classic and elegant. The service was truly exceptional. Our server, Fatima, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and when asked, she provided excellent recommendations that genuinely improved our dining experience. Now, the food is simply outstanding. For our appetizer, we ordered Oysters Rockefeller. We had filet mignon as our entree, and it was cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor. Every bite melted in my mouth. The sides were just as impressive--perfectly seasoned and served hot. We ordered creamed spinach and lobster mac and cheese. You can tell that every dish is prepared with care and attention to detail. We also enjoyed the meal's overall pacing. Nothing felt rushed, allowing us to relax, enjoy each course, and soak in the atmosphere. 801 Chophouse is definitely a place we'll return to. The interior design of the building and the decor were all wonderfully themed. We had steaks, lobster, and a couple of sides to share. I know it's a small thing, but I was so excited that they actually offered gravy with their mashed potatoes. I love gravy so much, but have found that pretty much no restaurants include it. They were both delicious! We also tried the creamed spinach, which needed a bit of salt but otherwise was delicious and didn't upset my stomach as someone who is lactose intolerant. This is a great restaurant to try if you never have before. I would love to come back to taste their scallops and lobster saffron risotto. The lobster tail I had was delicious so I expect nothing less for their other entree.
