Brunch with my kids. My daughter is a chicken tender connoisseur and she ordered the Jumbo tenders with a side of Mac n cheese. They were "okay" and she also seems to be addicted to ranch and that was not her fav ranch sauce. My youngest granddaughter was a fan of Mac n cheese and was taking bites from everyone like an all you can eat buffet. They have bottled soda and fancy "Troost Drinks" . I had a bowl with hash browns, gravy, eggs and possible a bacon chutney sauce. I would have preferred a biscuit on the side with mine. The biscuits are made fresh that day and super moist and delightful. They use biodegradable and recyclable containers. Very clean. The music is very loud so it is harder to have conversations but it's very upbeat music. Outdoor seating available when it's not 97 degrees outside. They do have a pickup window but I did not see anyone utilizing that. Service staff are very sweet and are delivering the food and taking orders. Thank you for the experience! I enjoyed our visit to your restaurant.
This has been on my list of places to try for quite some time, but it took me several months to finally visit. Boy to I wish I hadn't waited so long to bring these amazing biscuits into my life! I can't say enough about how amazing they are on their own. I tried the Cure (Soft scrambled eggs + american cheese +beef bacon jam + caramelized onions) and the Wonder (Fried chicken filet + fried egg + american cheese +beef bacon). I must say that I didn't really care for the bacon and onion jam on the Cure, so I don't think I would get that again, but the biscuit was still wonderful. As for the Wonder, it was AMAZING and I absolutely will be getting that again! The staff was super friendly and talked me into trying a "Troost Juice", which is essentially a lemonade. I specifically chose the strawberry flavor and I loved it. Not too sweet like many lemonades and they even have the option for a Spiked Troost Juice to add a bit the juice that you must be 21+ to drink into your beverage. I'll have to try that next time. It's a great little spot on Armour Road in North Kansas City that you could not notice driving by if you aren't paying attention. Ordered the Cure sandwich. A bit disappointing... barely any eggs and bacon jam on it. Really just cheese and biscuit. Can't say I'll be wanting to come back to try more since this was my first impression. I had to crack out my own jam on the side just to make it somewhat good.
Came here Saturday morning and it was a disappointment after the first visit. My boyfriend's mac n cheese with chicken has been cold both times we've come. My family also said they thought it was just fine and wouldn't return.
Oh buttery flavored, homemade biscuits were calling.. and that great tasting chicken in between what a dream! For us the choices are simple: THE CHARLIE HUSTLE $13.95 with Fried Hash Coins and the Biskuits+Gravy $10.95 ( not what the menu says bc ... what a price decrease, winner!) My sandwich hit THE SPOT! I'm telling you, you WILL NOT GO WRONG choosing a sandwich here! A very nice size chicken breast, not greasy and flavor is popping! Not too much of anything! Now the toppings: hot honey sauce + creamy coleslaw + dill pickles + DB sauce... just make the whole thing 50x better! No dripping on ya fingers either! My mom enjoyed the Biscuits and gravy which has cuts of chicken sausage! Yep! She said it was divine! The order process, I goofed, the tablet is not my friend and it timed out on me, but the cashier was ready to help! Aldi my order didn't take long! Hand delivered to me by the owner!
This place is literal fire!!! I am NEVER in NKC but my sister drove us up here to go to an antique store and when I realized we were right there I suggested checking this place out (I sampled them at the Yelp event at Rieger last year) and man am I glad I did. We shared The Cure sandwich and it was sooooo good. That onion jam....... dreamy!!! The biscuit was also top notch and the serving is huge. We ate maybe 1/2 of the tater tots which were also amazing! If I'm ever in this neighborhood again (or if they by miracle of miracles open one in Olathe) I'll be in again!!!
I've been wanting to try District Biskuits for the longest time. I was finally in the area on a recent Sunday morning that gave the perfect opportunity to stop by. I first noticed the outside seating. It was a little cold on our visit, but I did like the space and the option. The inside is nicely decorated. There's little sitting which is all stools along two walls of the frontside of the building. The menu is on a large tv screen and easily readable which is nice. And there's also self-service kiosk/touchscreen ordering available. I opted for ordering at the kiosk, so I cannot comment much on the service as I had little interaction. We ordered The Wonder with hash coin along with a side of mac and cheese bombs all to share. Firstly, the prices looked a bit high for a biscuit sandwich. However, they are huge! Our order with a sandwich and a side was perfect for two (unless you have a very big appetite). The fried chicken was the most succulent, juicy fried chicken that I've had in recent memory. The biscuit was perfectly flaky and soft. Both the hash coins and the mac and cheese bombs were great as well. I'll make a point to return next time I find myself in the area.
A great patio for friends to hangout at for a great breakfast or lunch. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was the table favorite (def get the Mac n cheese too). Very cool and friendly staff working with great suggestions.
GREAT biscuits!!!!!! Wide. Variety of unique biscuit sandwiches as well as a new way to eat biscuits and gravy - with carmelized onions. The coffee was awful so I'd steer clear and just grab a soft drink, water or Troost Juice. In all fairness we didn't go for the coffee but for those Lucious, large, stacked, flaky biscuits. THEY THICK ;-)
Don't believe the hype. Came in for a late Sunday lunch, hoping to be wowed. Friendly service and a short wait set a good tone--but the food just didn't deliver. Here's what I ordered: 4 Whole Wings & Biscuit (comes with pickles and pepper): Wings were okay flavor, but the batter was crumbly and didn't hold up. The biscuit was dense and spongy--not the fluffy, buttery layers you expect from a biscuit-focused spot. Baked Mac & Cheese: Overpowered by garlic salt. One-note and heavy-handed. Braised Green Beans: Way too much black pepper. No balance. Maybe it's better if you come early and stick to the breakfast menu, but this late lunch was a bust. Also worth noting--overpriced. The portion sizes and flavor don't justify the cost. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking was easy --spaces next to the building and a public parking lot very close by. Pro tip: If you're getting wings and want a side other than fries, skip the combo. Order everything à la carte to avoid the upcharge. Disappointed overall. Definitely not rushing back.
I had the best buttery biscuits at District Biskuits in North Kansas City. It was a bit of a drive from Overland Park, but totally worth it!!! The place is nice and clean inside, with a beautiful patio for outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and served the food on time. I ordered The Crown and Charlie's Hustle sandwiches, along with mac and cheese balls and they were delicious!!. The Crown had juicy, well-cooked patties with perfectly melted cheese. Charlie's Hustle had crispy fried chicken with a mix of Nashville spice and hot honey, all inside a soft, buttery bun. Every ingredient came together so well, making it an amazing sandwich. The sandwiches also came with crispy, coin-sized hashbrowns, which made them even better. The mac and cheese balls were good, but I think we wouldn't have missed much if we didn't order them. The sandwiches and hashbrowns were more than enough. If you haven't been to District Biskuits, you should definitely go because you are missing out!
My apologies as this review is a few weeks late, but I was there Christmas Day. My husband and I were visiting KC from CA and wow! First, thank you to everyone that was there and working on Christmas. Everyone we interacted with was very personable! The food is crazy good! Have ya'll thought about migrating West?! I want to say it was maybe the manager, who was taking orders, and dealt with a not so nice family that came in. They were very rude when you took their order and when they received their food. You and the other staff members handled them w/ kindness and grace. Thank you for making our Christmas morning meal unforgettable. We will def. be back on our next visit to KC :)
District Biskuits is absolutely worth checking out if you're in North KC. I ordered the Charlie Hustle, and it was a really well-balanced sandwich. The biscuit was excellent..soft, moist, and filling on the inside with a lightly crunchy exterior that held everything together without falling apart. The chicken was a little thinner than I expected, but it made up for it with a perfectly crispy breading and great seasoning. Paired with the coleslaw and sauce, every bite had a great mix of spicy, tangy, and creamy flavors that complemented each other really well. Don't skip the potato coins... they were crispy, flavorful, and definitely a great comliment to the sandwich. I also tried the Krazy Berry Troost Juice, which was refreshing and a great match for the sandwich. The food came out fresh, the flavors were on point, and it's easy to see why this place has built such a good reputation. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu. read more
Delicious Good, Hospitable Staff, Fun and Casual Atmosphere. They have kids meals and a wide variety of options. My nieces loved their chicken fingers and hash brown circles. I ordered the crown, which was a bit messy, but Delicious! I upgraded to the fried Mac and Cheese balls instead of the hash brown circles. It's First come first serve, we got lucky, the two regular tables were available for us to push together. read more
I'd been hearing about District Biskuits for a while, so when I found myself in North Kansas City on a Friday morning, it was finally time to give it a try. This place has built a loyal following for its creative biscuit sandwiches, and now I understand why. We arrived around 11 a.m., and ordering was quick and easy. I went with The Charlie Hustle featuring Nashville Hot Chicken, while my wife ordered The Wonder with a fried chicken filet. Our to-go order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I like spicy food, but not the kind that leaves you reaching for a gallon of milk. When the cashier described the Nashville Hot Chicken as "mild hot," he nailed it. Just enough heat to add flavor without overpowering the sandwich. The star of the meal was the chicken itself. The filet was huge, perfectly cooked, and incredibly juicy. Combined with the creamy coleslaw, dill pickles, and BD Sauce, it made for one outstanding sandwich. I also have to mention the hash brown coins. I'd never had them before, and they were crispy, flavorful, and the perfect side. At around $14 for the sandwich, I thought it was money well spent. Interesting experience. Started out frustrating. They have kiosks where you supposedly ca. order your food. Put my information in to pet the loyalty points in case we wanted to go back, filled out the order, got to the payment screen and couldn't pay. Gave up and got in the long line to order at the register. Not sure if someone called in or if they were short staffed but it probably took about 10-15 mins for the one girl to ring up the 6 people before us. Ordered, asked for cups of water and were charged $1.50 per bottle for 2 bottles of water without being informed. Started looking around. The restaurant was absolutely filthy. After all that I was to distracted to snap pics of the food. The food itself was actually pretty tasty and the biscuit sandwiches were gigantic so a fair amount of food for the price but with how dirty the restaurant itself was I am nervous we may end up getting sick from our lunch. Disappointing experience overall. read more

Best biscuits and gravy in town! Add chicken sausage, forget about it. Those crispy crunchy hash brown coins are dangerous. Perfect location with outdoor seating, and indoor when it's cold. Great people running the place. Creative menu with obvious labor of love vibes. read more
This was my first time at District Biskuits and I definitely plan on returning. We shared the Wonder, one of their biscuit sandwiches as well as fried Mac and cheese balls and hash coins. The Wonder was huge and messy and I would get this again. The chicken is moist and crunchy and the bacon was crispy. The Mac and Cheese balls were my favorite and I would recommend getting them with hot honey. The hash coins were also the perfect amount of crispy. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the space was very clean. I would recommend this spot to anyone in the area! read more
I'm a sucker for biscuits, and these were definitely top tier! So DB is located in North Kansas City and is a great spot to grab food if you're wanting to explore the area. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the suggestions they gave. The vibe is kinda like a chill r&b's music with beautiful walls and just good energy. Now the fooood, whew! Just go! The biscuit sandwiches were big and everything was perfectly seasoned! The sweet potato tots were superb! I would prefer no bacon on my sandwich because the beef bacon was a chewy, but that could just be a personal preference because this is my first time having beef bacon. Oh, how could I forget the Troost Juice! They need to sell bottles of that in the store, hands down. But you can choose up to 3 flavors and you can even spike it up! This place is perfect! read more
Great biscuit sandwiches! It was huge, We easily could have split one. We loved the waffle fries too. Inside is a chill Vibe with a great playlist. Service was pretty quick. Recommend for sure! They have their own parking space & an outside area that looked nice too. read more

I found these guys via a Yelp event and wanted to return to their restaurant ASAP. the owner/ chef seemed like a cool guy. We came here on a Saturday night and there was a limited menu, which was fine. My order took longer than expected because they had to make the mac and cheese fresh, which was fine. they have a small yet tidy eating area, which was fine. I devoured my meal quickly because I was starving and because it was delicious. I am looking forward to coming back here. read more
I never know how to start these things so I am gonna give it to you straight. District Biskuits is simply superb. I had heard all the rave reviews and the amazing story. So I had to try it for myself. The Chef- Chef Guroux a KCMO native dreamed of being a classically trained chef. After attending Le Cordon Bleu in Atlanta Georgia he was ready to his celebrate his city and culture with food, drinks and each other. From a 2017 Pop Up sensation to one of the most talked about places to eat in Kansas City! The Food - The chicken. The biscuit. So much flavor to love. For KCRW I opted for the sandwich and side with a drink. I choose The Charlie Hustle. A Nashville hot fried chicken with their in house hot honey butter. Sandwiched between one of the best biscuits I have ever had. As I type this I want another one. That's how good it was! The Drinks - The house made Lemonade was thirst quenching. Just the right amount of sweetness. You will definitely want to try the Troost Juices. The thought put into the names for menu items. You can feel the love and respect for Kansas City and its history. A must try folks! read more

Grabbed brunch here on a Sunday. Ordering is super simple - they take your order, or you can do it yourself at the kiosk. We grabbed a seat outside and waited for our food. I LOVED my biscuit sandwich and tots - the biscuit was buttery and delicious. I thought my husband's sandwich had too much of the jam on it, but he enjoyed it. HOLY MOLY....YES, YES and more YES! If you haven't checked this place out you need to RUN not walk to this place. I found this place by a pop up on my socials and thought the biscuits looked good but boy was I wrong the biscuits were AMAZING. The biscuit sandwich is not one to be toyed with its large and in charge of flavors. I got the wonder, which is a large piece of chicken fillet, egg, bacon and cheese on a super buttery, flaky biscuit. The combination of them was soooo good, it comes with tots that have seasoning. The only thing I would add is either same hot sauce or jelly...depending if you are in a sweet or spicy mood. The staff were all super friendly. The inside was clean with bar like seating around the dinning room. I would literally try anything on this menu!! read more
Kansas City finally has a great biscuit spot and it's called District Biskuits. One of the things I really missed about Seattle when I moved back home to KC were the great biscuit shops. I know what you're thinking, Seattle? great biscuits? yes - it's a thing, I promise! That being said, District Biskuits is, in my opinion, the first really great biscuit spot that serves that role here in KC. Located in trendy North Kansas City, it's a bit off the beaten path, but is 100% worth the drive. When you arrive, there isn't a massive parking lot, but I had no trouble finding a spot when I visited for lunch in mid spring. Walk inside and it feels very much like a renovated fast foot restaurant, which I assume it is. There is limited indoor seating, a few tables and good amount of barstools create a very casual ambiance. I will say though, there is a good amount of outdoor seating so if you come on a nice day that would be a great option. You order at the counter and then wait for them to call out your name. Now for the star of the show: the biscuit sandwich. I had their take on a fried chicken biscuit and all I can say is that I'm still thinking of this thing. The biscuit was flaky, buttery, wonderful. The chicken was fried to perfection, had amazing sauce, and was worth every bite. When I first unwrapped the sandwich I was amazed at how massive it was but rest assured, I did eat it all - despite my body saying to stop . It was one of those rare food finds where you just can't stop because it's so good. Can't wait to return! read more

I'm old enough to remember when the Biskuits were served out of a building on Troost and later in a locally famous hotel near Kauffman Stadium. I was bummed when they left, but thankfully they're back and better than ever. The Biskuits have set up shop in a quaint space on Armour, north of the River. There's a nice little dining area inside, but the outside "picnic patio," is where the magic happens. You can sit by yourself and enjoy the solitude. You can bring your friends. Heck, you might even make some friends. The menu features a few biskits and original dishes for your dining pleasure. I like, "The Wonder," (fried chicken fillet + fried egg + American cheese + bacon + chives,) but there isn't a wrong answer. Please get a side of DB sauce to enhance your experience. A full range of beverages are available to pair up with your meal, however I recommend a boozy milkshake if you're feeling frisky. read more
I visited the morning after a 5k in NKC. They hit the spot. I bought 4 biscuits and juice for refueling. I took the 4 biscuits home and we had breakfast for 2 days. The biscuits are huge!!!!! . The service was top notch. I wasn't sure if I could buy just biscuits. Well you can. $4.00 a piece and worth every mouth full. I liked how the inside was colorful, small and comfortable.
