I am writing in the context of the Great Clips that has replaced the Barbershop in the BX mall. I normally go here 2x a month. I have closer stores near me but prefer going here being that I'm Retired & have access. I know a few of the ladies that used to cut hair on the previous shop before it closed. This place is usually busy & has a waiting time. I recommend using the app for a shorter wait time. I normally just sign in because I'm not in any hurry. The girls are friendly & do a great job here. Called ahead to be sure I could get an appointment - they said come on over. When I arrived, there were two barbers - the owner and a young man. I was the only customer. The young man took me over to a chair and asked what kind of haircut. I told him a short flattop. Note, this barber shop is very close to the military base. He informed me that he could not cut it that way but the owner had 20 years experience at a military base. He took me over to the owner for my haircut. I explained that I wanted a very short flattop and she said ok. 20 minutes later I walked out with an uneven buzz cut and I don't even know how to explain the front. SIGN OUTSIDE ENTRANCE DOOR SAYS WALK INS WELCOME -- definitely not accurate. my husband wanted to get a haircut today, usually does walk - ins. today we walked in and said we needed an appointment. one of the older mexican worker scheduled him for 12p. we left and came back around 11:55a. my husband was waiting. another customer had walked in as a 'walk - in' and the young mexican took him first. my husband was confused and irritated. he then waited another 30+ minutes until he was acknowledged. and still didn't get a haircut. so we left. horrible service at this barber shop & my husband usually comes here since it's close by. we will not be coming here anymore. read more

I'm a barber and I took a chance, and I really do hate to criticize another's work, but this justifies saying! I just got the worst hair in this shop, I asked for a mid taper fade and I got well I don't know what I got. My texture is curly but easy to cut, if you are a person with curly hair please find another place. I'm not saying I'm the best barber in the world however I have more passion and skills and I'd I can't a certain texture; I'm willing to give the cut to another barber who can!! Being a teenager coming into this barber shop for my first time, The place is clean and i like the items they use to cut my hair. But the person who cut my hair did not cut my hair the way i asked and she was pretty rough with my hair. I don't think my haircut was worth $15 and i feel like i wasted my money. They don't clean their clippers... I've had some MAJOR DANDRUFF the day after my cut. Their English is so awful it's difficult to tell them exactly what you want. The 2 times I've had them cut my hair I was very unsatisfied with it and they even messed up the fade behind my head and asked 2 of his co workers how to fix it and still charged me full price. What's up everyone!! I found this barbershop gem on yelp last week! I made an appointment with Thanhtam the owner for last Friday at 5pm. What a great shop! Very clean and presentable! Great equipment, having the vacuum attachments on the clippers are a huge benefit to the customers, no more little hair clippings stuck in your clothes making you itch! Thanhtam is an excellent barber and has skills with the flat top! She is very personable as polite. I will definitely be returning on a regular basis! Customer service is held to a high standard at! I stopped in for their Grand Opening event and was pleasantly surprised by the unique airplane designs and cleanliness of the Barber Shop. The barbers were very welcoming. They have many years of barbering experience and also use a special clipper vacuum tool that makes hair cutting much cleaner. Just got my haircut at this brand new barbershop and I am very pleased with my experience. They offer both military and civilian haircuts for a very competitive rate. In addition to an amazing fade, I also received exceptional customer service. The owners offered me cold water when I first stepped in, which is incredibly refreshing considering the Las Vegas summer heat! They also have a complementary coffee station available as well. The shop is very clean and beautifully decorated with what appears to be gifts from their customers (I even saw some items from the Thunderbirds). What makes this shop REALLY stand out to me is their clipper vacuum system which leaves no hair on my clothes at the end of the haircut. I would highly recommend trying this place out! Over the last 20 years I have received many haircuts. As a US Marine we were required to get a haircut once a week, preferably on Sundays. As a result there are many barbershops around Marine bases and they all charge from $8-12 a haircut. Now that I am retired and living in Las Vegas I have struggled to find a barbershop that knows how to cut and fade hair. Some people call this a military haircut, but it's really a simple technique that requires a steady hand and some good clippers. Regardless of whether they know how to cut "military" hair or not, your typical Vegas area barber will charge you over $20. I went to one guy who charged me $30 and it took him over an hour to cut my hair. While he did a great job, all I wanted was a haircut and not some kind of religious experience. Yesterday after leaving Nellis AFB I decided to get a haircut. Am I glad I did! As I walked in, the place is clean and bright. The employees are extremely friendly. To often I have walked into a barbershop or sat in a barber's chair and the employee acts like they are doing me a favor by cutting my hair. Anyway, within a few pleasant minutes I received a high quality haircut. The barber even shaved the sides using an electric razor. Here is the crème de la crème, the price was only $11.50...or somewhere around that. The price was so unexpected I just gave the lady a twenty and told her to give me back five. So, if you want a quality haircut without breaking the bank and not looking for a religious experience this place is for you. Tired of the inconsistency at the BX. Had some great hair cuts and had some terrible haircuts there- but this isn't their review, so I'll save my breath on the facts that you already know all too well if you're in the military. Came here since it's on my way home, price point is great and they had good reviews. Walked in and saw a sign that read "cash only" so I said I'd be right back to get my hard cheddar, but the man said I could use my card this time but not next time....kinda weird, but whatever. Two older "barbers" a man and a woman are the only ones in the shop, and the place is nearly dead, just me and another customer getting is hair cut; but it's a Wednesday close to closing and I am optimistic about their experience they must have. I explain to the man what I want, pretty standard hard part cut with a medium "skin" fade. He gets started and I take ease in knowing I'm not at the BX after my last experience there. At this point the customer next me me is finished and checking out his cut to which he is kinda annoyed at how it's not quite as he asked for, so he tries to explain what he wants fixed to the woman who is just smiling and not understanding him and thinks he's joking around. It's then that I'm looking around and notice there's absolutely NO barbers/hairdressers licenses on the walls or anywhere to be seen! Not sure if it's required in Nevada to be displayed- but I start to get nervous. When he hands me the mirror after he's finished I'm relieved that he didn't part the Red Sea and give me a landing strip for a hard part but upon further inspection- my fade, especially near the part, it looks like a god damn toddler attempted to peel an onion. I point out the issues and he gets back to work. I check it again after he's finished, and it's about 5% better. Fudge. I tell him "it's fine", mostly because I don't want the damage to become collateral, and get up to pay. After I give myself a full open ranks on this cut in the car, I still have some werewolf hairs on both sides of my neck (no razor shave, just a 0 on the clippers ), fade still looks like top chef junior and the comb over part of my hair looks like my daughter attempted "trimming" her bangs but ended up chopping the shit out of it with a very harsh definition, no blending was done. I get it, you get what you pay for, and not every hair cut will be amazing- but these are some BX level cuts that happen to be off base.... don't be fooled! Gentlemen (and the occasional lady) spend the extra $10-$15 extra bucks and go elsewhere. I'm not sure if it's new owners/management or what, but I will not be bringing my cash next time, or any time- ever. Time to adjust the budget for better quality haircuts. One star for the price and one star for the patches and neat f-16 wall graphics I got to look at while getting my haircut. read more

Was in the area and decided to pay a visit and the place is super clean. The theme was all air force military oriented. It was fast and the 2 girls that worked greeted me with kindness. This is not your typical barber shop as the clippers they use are the ones with those vacuum type devices. The person who worked on my hair was very nice and cut my hair the way I wanted. Opened in my area and I didn't realize that it was a military style stop. This led me to be a bit worried (I had some bad cuts in my Army days) Thahn is amazing!!! She is venturing out on her own and really seems to give a crap: Welcoming hospitality, super clean environment and a REALLY GOOD haircut. I am retired military and used to get my hair cut on base. When Diana and her sister opened their own place I had to try it out. Their shop is beautiful, clean and professional. The sisters are masters at fades and blends. The customer service is outstanding and I am paying less for a full cut and beard trim than I used to pay on base! Consider me a new regular! read more

My first experience here was phenomenal! I went to try this barbershop since my own barbershop was always busy, like an hour or two of waiting unless you have appointment but wasn't able to make one. The place was clean & still new & I was able to get service right away. At first, Im kinda like hesitant for the barber whose bout to cut my hair so I let him show a photo that I wanted.
