This is a no frills salon based on looks. I walked in and for some reason my appointment wasn't showing but they said it was fine and got me in (I was the only person there). I was there just for a blowout. The person who took care of me was nice. After she washed my hair asked what I wanted and I just asked for some type of wave. My hair looked really good following and what I liked was my blow out lasted (Normally after a day I end up having to wash it). They offer a curling and flat iron option for $10 more which I'll probably do next time to see how it last. I wasn't "wowed" by anything but everything went great and I'd come back. read more

Would definitely find another place to get your hair cut or styled. The service was not great. I felt rushed into the chair, nor did I feel like the woman who dealt with me understood what I was asking for at all. I had to explain that I booked a hairCUT and blow out. She proceeded to wash my hair and give me a five minute scalp massage. (I paid for 10 mins) she then proceeded to blow dry the living daylights out of my hair without cutting it. I was unsure on the whole process as I have only been here once before, so I did not say anything. I then proceeded to get upset once I realized she was not going to cut my hair at all. I had to mention it to her and she seemed to get upset with me? I had booked online for a haircut, scalp massage and blowout. she double checked on the computer and tried to tell me she asked me while getting my hair washed " when am I getting a trim?" (today I thought?) I thought she said how much was I thinking to trim? I responded with "I don't know yet" Unfortunately, my sister has also gone through the same issue. Booked for a haircut, blow dried the living daylights out of her hair and no haircut. I'm not sure what happened both visits, but this seems to be a reoccurring problem at this salon has. The rating would have been a STONG 5 Stars if my original appointment was made with either Kendra or Silvia. The random "available" person (Nancy) was seemingly double booked. If Kendra - then Silvia had not intervened to wash then blow dry my hair I might still be there. I was desperate for wash/blow after being hospitalized and unable to do myself. Needed a blow out for a last minute engagement I needed to go to. I have been here before and Had better service. Waited to be greeted since the person in front was on the one. One other stylist had a client but mine was just talking to the other client and stylist until someone came from the back to ask if I was her appointment to my surprise I was not I was with the stylist that was talking and ignoring me. She did a good job but only lasted the night which I was disappointed in. Normally my blow outs last longer than a day. I will go back just try someone else when I need it again. read more

I have fine hair and the stylist burnt my hair. i asked for beach waves and they used a straightener which burnt my hair. did it in sections rather than just blowdrying and curling after. they did not understand how to do different hair types. by the time my hair was "done" the back was all straight. bad experience and shocked they let me leave that way. I've been to The Blowout a total of three times. The first two times, I had great experiences. But my experience yesterday, was far from great. I scheduled a blowout which should of been $40. The stylist asked me how I wanted my hair styled and I said waves. She used a blow dryer the entire time. She didn't use a curling iron or a flat iron. She charged me $50 as if she styled it. I asked her why I was charged $50 instead of $40 and she said it was because she styled it. I paid the $50 and handed over a cash tip of $10 and left. As soon as I got in the car, I looked at my hair. I was rest upset with how my hair was styled. I was expecting waves but my hair was mostly straight. The hairstyle I received was not what I was expecting. The hairstyle wasn't even remotely close to what I wanted. My hair is naturally straight and if I wanted my hair to be straight, I could have done my hair myself at home. The first two experiences I've had, I don't recall paying $50 to have my hair styled with waves. I believe I was charged $40. I'm not sure why my hair wasn't styled the way I asked and I'm not sure why I was charged more. read more

I scheduled an appointment over the phone and was scheduled with a stylist named Estephanie B. Before making the appointment I made it clear to the miss on the phone I was looking for an Olaplex wash and highlights. When I showed up to my appointment on Sunday, March 16th, I was immediately met with looks of confusion. I was told by the stylist that she "...doesn't have time for any of that today" when I mentioned the young lady on the phone confirmed my wash and highlights. This stylist told me all she would literally be doing was putting highlights in my hair and that was it. The communication at this salon is horrible and her attitude towards me was even worse. If all she could have even done was a blowout and highlights I would have washed my hair myself before arriving with no problem, however, the stylist said she had no time for anything but highlights. For clarification I asked, so you would just apply highlights to my dry, dirty hair? She said yes. That's insane for a professional stylist to say yes when asked something like that. It's apparent she just did not want to be bothered with me even though I had an appointment and based on the conversation on the phone and the details in the appointment confirmation, there was clearly a blowout in the details. read more

Came in a few weeks ago on a whim prior to an event. I called in the morning right after they opened and asked for a later in the afternoon appointment which they were able to accommodate. The salon is very clean and well kept and all the girls were very friendly. The girl who took care of me did a great job washing my hair. The products they use are also very nice and smell great! I did tell her that my hair holds on to a lot of water and thought it was weird that she dried and then styled each section before blowing out all of my hair first. Every time she let down a section, the wet hair fell on top of the styled portion. I've had my hair done plenty of times at various salons and I've never had anyone do this and thought it was odd. I also noticed that the counters and mirrors were positioned quite high compared to the salon chairs. The blow out was done well but curls were mostly towards the bottom of my hair. The photo I showed her the styled curls were done throughout the hair (I paid extra for the styling) and since I couldn't see what was going on during the service, I didn't really notice until she was all done. I also asked for a lot of hair spray because I know my hair and the humidity paired with my very soft hair makes curls fall almost instantly. By the time I got home (maybe a 10-12 minute drive) majority of the curls had fallen and I had to redo most of them. Overall, the service was great but I think the stylists need to listen to the clients more. We know what happens to our hair and I communicated that information very well to her. read more

I was so disappointed with my recent appointment that ever ended up happening. I booked a 7:30am appt because I had a flight at 10:30am and they are usually really quick and efficient with their services. I received my confirmation like I normally do at 5:30am while I was the gym. I showed up at 7:25 only to get a text at 7:28 two minutes before my appt that my stylist, Kourtney canceled. I am sorry, but nothing comes up that soon. I feel this salon needs to have a better staffing model for instances like this. All I received was an apology and basically sorry for your luck message. I understand there are staff shortages, but when an establishment sends a confirmation two hours before the appt and cancels two minutes before the scheduled appt is just irresponsible and unprofessional.
