This clown James is a no-show no-call....with a serious attitude problem. That's after *promising* to call if he gets delayed or needs to cancel. Already a deal-breaker. When I call 45" later ("Are you on your way?") he answers, "I CAN be." Lol. His phone sounds like something from the last century. When he finally comes he looks madder than a hornet. Not one word or even one second of eye contact. Not even "Sorry for forgetting the appointment." Spends less than one minute measuring width and length for a conrete patio, and that's the end of it. When I turned on my sprinkler system after the winter season, I found that there was no water supplying my sprinklers. After my handy neighbor diagnosed what he thought the problem was, I called Nelms. He was quick to come out and diagnose the problem, which was the water valve that was broken internally. He fixed that and then I had him remove old drip, install new drip with new emitters and he staked them all down, so they wouldn't be disturbed by my dogs. He was able to do all these repairs while I was at work, which was extremely convenient. My plants, lawn and yard are very happy now and we are ready for spring and summer! read more

On Friday the feb 28th I Contacted Nelms Landscape to design my landscape and a quote for sprinkler install, I told him that lived in Delano and he explained it would be troublesome to come and do work, (Mind you per Facebook they've done work in 3 Rivers and Springville). We agreed that I would take measurements ,provide a plant list and photos of examples that I liked .. on Monday the 2nd of Feb I emailed my information and called to confirm they've received my email ... I texted and called several times to no avail ...voicemail full ... so called again Tuesday and nothing.. still couldn't leave messages. It's now Friday 6th no email no text back not even a call back... what really frustrates me is the website states "Locally owned and operated We have been serving Tulare county for more than a decade.  We provide a large variety of services to help you achieve your landscape goals. Larry Nelms and his crews are awesome. They poured about 12 yards of concrete in my back and side yards and also landscaped with plants, mulch, and irrigation around my entire back yard. It was very reasonably priced and looks great. After explaining that I've always had trouble getting enough water to some dying Redwood trees, he recommended and installed Netafim drip. I was skeptical as I'd tried various drip and other types of irrigation and a few of the trees were still dying and I was sure they were goners. He assured me it would work. Fast forward a couple months and the trees are thriving. He was 100% right about what to do and Netafim was the perfect solution. I'm so grateful to not lose those trees. Part of the back yard project included moving some sprinkler valves from the back/side to the front so the whole side yard could be poured and look clean. The crew accidentally cut my pool fill line as it was buried with the sprinkler valves. This wasn't discovered by me until weeks after the concrete was poured. After letting Larry know, he came out personally with a team of guys, cleanly cut a patch of concrete above the cut, repaired the line, and repaired the concrete. No hassle whatsoever. Not reliable, not showed up for 3 weeks to finish a repair. Made a 1st time call and came to see what I needed repaired, told me he had to go pick up a part that been 3 weeks ago and he's been called often and just told us lies about showing up to finish. I had Nelms come by to help fix our sprinkler/watering timer system. They were very pleasant, friendly and professional and were done in no more than 30-35 minutes and had replaced our timer/ programmed it, fixed the wiring (there were some messed up connections), and made sure everything worked before leaving. Called for sprinkler service. terrible job! After they left, sprinklers hit the windows, the timers and days were off. I called and he said he would be back out that day but never showed up and cashed the check before I could put a stop on it. Would not recommend! read more

I gave this company a very low rating, but the truth is I don't know how good they are at their job. I called them for a very small, simple job, and talked to Larry. I knew there was a possibility that the job was too small for them to want to take it. But Larry said, "I need to call you back. I'll call you right back." That was two days ago. I'm sure Larry's parents taught him to always do what he says he's going to do, and I would have not held it against him if he had, in fact, called back to tell me he wasn't interested in the job. Not calling back left me hanging, wondering if I should call someone else. Not polite, Worthy of a poor rating. read more
