After looking at our compressor, condenser, and HVAC, the technician told my wife that we needed a new compressor at a minimum, which would be $10k and suggested we replace our HVAC for an additional $6k. As I was away from home due to work, she called relaying this information to me. I requested she get a 2nd and even 3rd opinion. She contacted another company that came out and within 3 mins of being there he showed my wife that the breaker had been flipped off, which is why the condenser wasn't working. He also told my wife that there was nothing wrong with our condenser or HVAC other than it needed Freon. This person from the 2nd company told my wife that since our unit took R22 freon he could not service it as he did not carry R22. He was very nice, did not try to sell my wife anything but told her that the only way he could fix it was to replace the unit with a newer version. He suggested we reach out to another company that carries R22 as it would be far cheaper. We contacted the person that originally installed the condenser and HVAC and he came out. He put 3lbs of R22 freon in and it worked great after that, only charging us $450 for the service, freon, and repair. The person from Guaranteed Heating and Cooling deliberately shut off my breaker to my condenser and tried to sell my wife a overpriced system that I didn't need. They tried to take advantage of a woman, thinking she would not know any better. If it wasn't for my brother-in-law stepping in, they would have probably gotten away with it. When my Brother-in-law called to request her money back for the service call since they were blatantly dishonest, the Guaranteed person tried lying to him, saying he just spoke to me, her husband. When my brother-in-law called him out on the lie, because I wasn't even in the country at the time, he tried to back out and said he was talking about another customer. This tells me they tried this an another customer that day as well. DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL SCAM YOU!

The big name company with fancy commercials on TV And took monthly service amounts to "make it easier" for me. 2 years ago they said that I needed to replace my ENTIRE air conditioning unit that they had been servicing for almost 10 years. The unit was only 11 years old at that point. They tried to sell me a new one for $9k !!!! I decided to get a second opinion and had 3 different companies come to check the unit. THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. They said someone had loosen up a valve and all the antifreeze was gone. Needless to say I was almost the victim of fraudulent business practices. I dropped my contract and have been with KNOW ever since - you WILL NOT find a better HVAC company with amazing customer service and integrity. Ask for Scott! I have referred 5 people since then and they all love the service.

Dan the owner saved us from a predatory H&C contractor about 3 years ago. We had the company, to…read moreremain nameless although a lot of you know who this was. They told me I needed a whole new system because the system wouldn't hold refrigerant. We had originally called because we heard and knew the capacitor on the heat pump died. The unit was working perfectly until then. We called Air Source out of the blue for a 2nd opinion and Dan, the owner, came out, found a loose fitting, wonder how that happened? Anyway, Dan then replaced the capacitor and charged the system with refrigerant for about $200 and it has been working perfectly since. The day before Thanksgiving we woke up to a cold house. It had gotten colder that night than it had been so I figured that the gas furnace wasn't lighting when the system switched to EM heat, I.E. gas. Called Dan and he was out in about an hour. He called me the morning after Thanksgiving let me know how much the new induction blower was and had it installed by 10:30. I would recommend Air Source Heating & Cooling to everyone. Dan has been doing HVAC for over 30 years and is extremely professional and personable. I have written a couple of bad reviews for companies that really deserved it, but I don't write positive reviews very often. I expect service to be prompt and competent for my money. Dan and Air Source are so great to have taking care of your furnace and A/C I wanted to tell everyone. Call Dan, you won't have any regrets and you'll have working HVAC promptly and at a very competitive price.

Long review but hopefully thorough to explain why I will be calling these guys first next time I…read moreneed a repair. My ice maker was broken for the 2nd time in a year and a half. Last company I used was very nice, but it was a hefty bill and it took a handful of days for them to come over, determine what was wrong, then a few more days to order the part. This was also in the summer time when I love having ice in my drinks. This time I sent out what I thought the job required via Yelp to several companies. Larue Mechanical Services was one of the first to respond. On top of that they were able to determine what the likely cause and fix was (basically just replacing it) and give me a total estimate cost of the repair before they came over. Other companies were able to provide me their service fees but their hourly rate would vary depending on the job. This isn't uncommon from what I can tell, but I like the fact that Larue was able to give me what they thought it would cost. I understand not all jobs can work like that as repairs can be more complicated and determined on site, but it was part of why I chose them. They were communicative, got the part ordered asap, and replaced it all in 2-3 days. The repair happened on a Friday, and turns out, there was a small error in replacing it. The new ice maker was just dripping water all over and freezing. I let them know this on a Saturday and, despite being closed, responded that they would have to come back out. They responded to several texts about what to do in the meantime to stop the water from building up any more (again while they were closed on a weekend). They were, unfortunately, swamped all day Monday with emergency calls from the weekend. As much as I wanted my machine repaired, I would not classify it as an emergency either. They were able to come out on Tuesday and get it all fixed up though. The final bill was just a little cheaper that what they previously estimated, which was nice. The final bill was also about significantly cheaper than the last repair I had on this freezer. I am going to call Larue first if I ever have an appliance repair need again (which I am sure is a matter of "when" not "if"). The gentleman who did the repairs also took a little time to give my cats and dogs a little attention to let them know he was a safe visitor, which was very nice to see as well.

The technician (I wish I could remember his name, I'm so awful with names) went above and beyond to help with an issue that he didn't need to. Pointed out a water leak that I didn't realize was as bad as it was, stayed to ensure it had stopped, and then assisted with helping me with the water issue, and even cleaned up a mess that he didn't need to. Truly next level exceptional service. I will never use another plumber again. They are so upfront with pricing and I really felt I got my moneys worth.

In and out quick. Didn't try to sell me a replacement water heater. Just the simple, quick fix I needed. Saved a bunch of money other companies who might've tried for the bigger sale.
