After more than a month of cleaning out a cluttered, unfinished garage, I was ready for drywall. I…read morecontacted a few businesses, and their prices were way too high. I called owner Jessie of Menifee Drywall Construction, provided him measurements and photos of the garage, and he provided a quote right away. The price was just right! Other businesses were charging 2x the cost, and that was without insulation. We even have a little extra money to do a couple of things for the garage. Jessie is a great communicator. He responds to emails and texts. He is very flexible with scheduling as well. When it came to the start date, Jessie sent an ETA text, and continued to do this for each day of the project. Jessie did more work than planned. For example, he noticed that the framing where the studs are were a bit off. He reinforced the framing by adding additional pieces of wood, and also added some shims to keep the ceiling level. He even shaved down the studs that were sticking out more on the walls. This extensive work added a couple of extra days to the project completion date, but I was not upset about it. As what was requested, Jessie added an attic access door. I even asked if he could patch up the bigger holes in the wall that wasn't being touched. To my surprise, he fixed not just the big holes, but all the little ones too, which I was planning to do myself. He also drywalled the tight areas around the garage door opener and water heater. Sitting on the water heater is the water softener pump. This could not be moved; however, Jessie worked his magic and was able to drywall the base without moving the unit. The bottom edges of the walls are nice and clean. He even was able to drywall the wall next to our tankless water heater. I initially told him that if it was going to be too time consuming to drywall that small area, to just leave it. He was able to drywall it. When Jessie finished the job, he left the garage clean. The walls were textured and are now ready for paint. Our garage floor looks horrible, but it was like that before he worked on the drywall. With the extra we saved by hiring Jessie, the flooring is the next project. Jessie is a very friendly and hard working person. I've had a lot of work done in our home, so I know what to look for when hiring someone to not only complete a project, but to treat my home with respect, and Jessie did just that. When it came time to reroof again we opted to go with Alumawood. We contacted several contractors and told them what we wanted. We were told it could not be done by all of them except one. We originally had 4 pillar supports on a 29ft patio cover that was about 8 ft high. It covered our patio but we also wanted to include the BBQ Island. The BBQ Island is right outside of my sunroom where I have all of my plants. We wanted to get some sort of louver system over the BBQ island so my plants could still see the sun during the day, and we wanted it all to match so it looked like one fluid cover. We also wanted as few pillars as possible. Scott from SAE builders came in listened to and actually heard what we wanted. He then developed a blueprint for an amazing work of art that included everything we wanted plus lights throughout, a ceiling fan with lights and an infrared heater in the seating area. The louvers are an Equinox system that works on a remote control or wall switch. He engineered all of this to be supported on 2 giant pillars, did I say amazing. We are so in love with the whole thing! Scott is wonderful, easy to talk to, listens and tells you the truth instead of trying to sell you something that you just have to settle for. He's not a salesman, and he really knows what he's doing. He's a nice likable guy you can really count on to get the job done.
