    Stopped at Hitch King to have an RV propane tank refilled. My tank is a 7.5 gallon tank that…read morealways takes about 7.1 gallons to fill from empty (I've had it filled dozens of times). Propane prices right now range from about $2.80 to $3.20 across the entire US (which I've just driven - filling up along the way), so my tank always costs $20-$23 to fill from empty. The owner walked out to the propane shed, hooked the filler up to my tank, opened the valve, and started filling. (He didn't open the bleed valve on my tank at all - which would show when my tank was getting full.) He kept the doors to the filling station almost closed, and kept his body between me and any view of the meter. I moved aside to try to see the meter, and he moved again to block me. After a couple minutes, he shut off the pump, unhooked the fill hose, and closed the doors - being apparently extra careful to not let me see how much was dispensed. "That's thirty bucks even," he said. "We only take cash." and held out his hand. I handed him $30 cash, which he put into his pocket. No cash registers, no receipt, (and therefore probably no taxes paid.) When I got back home, I confirmed that my tank was about 2/3 full, so I paid $30 cash for about $15 worth of propane. Shaaaady.

    Good place. Parts are a bit pricey,but, hey it's Key West. The do great work and the turn it around…read morevery quickly. The owner is a bit rough and gruff...despite his seemingly crude nature. He has always taken care if me and done excellent work. It is cash/check only.
