Kind of feel like they are a set it and forget it company. With them for about 6 years but after awhile didn't see much results. Started SEO for a several months and they were doing 30 pages a month - just adding meta descriptions and a few other things. $400/month. Found a $20 app that does a much more thorough job than they did and found mistakes they made in what they did do. Were paying for our Google Shopping which was pretty much autopilot anyway and we were only running 3 real campaigns in Adwords. Went through a review of our Adwords with another company and saw more mistakes with wording on the ads, duplicate keywords, and a few other things. Can get more bang for the buck doing it ourselves, using an app, or re-allocating the money into content creation. Glad I fired them. read more

My company has been working with Netmark for over 5 years. We are currently using them for SEO and CRO services. Throughout the years we have seen our fair share of changes (account reps, management, etc.) but I think that is to be expected over that long of a duration, and in their industry. It's tough to keep good employees in this era of entrepreneurship. The digital marketing world will always have ups and downs. I think the key is finding an agency that you communicate well with, and that will proactively bring problems to the light to address, not hide from. Worked with them for about a year, with their Burst approach plan. Didn't see significant improvements in SEO, although they did help us clean up a few things regarding our blog and suggesting social media buttons to implement. Poor communication. Took over a week on several occasions to receive a reply, which we had to follow up on ourselves. Saw them on Ripoff Report, but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately we experienced the same as other customers. Having more than one customer submitting their complaint on Ripoff Report as well as several on BBB, should be a red flag. Netmark has been great to work with and has produced great results for us. I started with them back in 2015 and the initial several months weren't anything that impressive, but then they started making changes to our pay-per-click account that rocketed us to a new level. There are some time periods (months at a time) where we don't see any substantial improvement, but then there will be a large increase. We didn't intend on doing SEO with them because I didn't think it would work, but after the success we had seen with pay-per-click then I thought we should give it a shot. We already had a few page one rankings, but within 6 months we had dozens and our SEO traffic had doubled. Two years later now and we dominate on most of our keywords and our traffic has doubled again. Then they talked me into doing pay-per-click on facebook, which was really a hard sell, since I have never been much of a social media user and again, didn't think it would work. It worked though. There have been plenty of things that could have gone better along the way, but I am a realist and don't expect perfection. I just wanted to get a good return on my investment, and I have received much more than I thought that I would. So I already wrote a bad review for this business and they had the nerve to contact Yelp and remove it for lacking substantiate consumer experience. I will try to be more descriptive this time: This business is a complete rip-off. We spent a lot of money to only see a few visitors arrive at my site every day. Similar business that spent the same amount as us on SEO were able to receive 100s to 1000s of daily visitors. One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made in my professional career is signing up with these guys and staying on as long as I did. I have never been so insulted by someone I have hired. Huge waste of money and time. We signed up about 6 months ago and were promised detailed SEO and PPC after the previous company didn't deliver. We were sold on the idea of fortifying our site and doing backlinks, blogs, adding content throughout the internet by this company. For PPC we were promised building an extensive AdWords campaign. We also ended up being offered to have them help host our site and develop it which we agreed to. After 2 months we realized that not a single bit of work was done on AdWords. All they did was turn on their predecessors' ineffective campaign and let it run and made zero changes to it. When we confronted them about it they refunded us for PPC and convinced us to stay on for SEO. In another month we realized that SEO was not being worked on. When we asked them what was going on the reasoning was that the person we were working with wasn't supposed to add our site to development under them, wasn't doing SEO, and decided to quit his job and leave us hanging. The new guy told us that they were going to wait for us to transfer the site to some other developer and until then they would look over it. But because we were using our $1500 a month budget on web development, non of it was going to SEO. We agreed to stop any web development in November unless it was crucial. As of November the only effective SEO we have seen was done by our employees. Netmark only wrote 1 blog, which they posted to our site, to facebook, hit boost post and left it be. Today is January 22nd and when we asked them what work they have done to justify $1500 they got very defensive. They started saying how they were doing everything in the budget to help. When we asked about the backdoor links and all of that good stuff they responded with telling us that the $1500 per month was only for the 2 blogs per month, and in 3 months of SEO work they only posted 1. They then claimed they were spreading it throughout the internet at great speed. I asked them to where they were posting and they told us that we are unprofessional and rude and require someone to jog our memory. Excuse me! When I ask for a progress report I do not want lip from a company I am paying $1500 a month to. Either way they refused to answer our questions so we fired them. They then began emailing our company owner and telling him we are idiots, need to have our memory jogged and are unprofessional. Do not hire this company unless you want to pay a mass of money, get no results, no work done and then have them talk back to you when you ask for a status update. read more

I've been meaning to post a review on Netmark for almost a year now, because we've worked with several SEO consultancies since about 2004 and Netmark has been such a standout I thought I should share it. As everybody knows, there have been some pretty drastic updates to Google's organic algorithm since 2013 when we started with Netmark, such as Panda and Mobile-geddon. Netmark's demonstrated ability to stay focused on which nuances of these updates are critical and all things SEO has only served to validate my hunch that their business model and work ethic were the right complement to our in-house E-commerce team. When I read the negative reviews regarding Netmark, I can see between the lines that here are some customers who expect Netmark to do everything for them. Probably the main mistake Netmark made with them is, accepting that type of customer. SEO is not something you hire somebody to "do" and then wait for the results. It's something you have to do YOURSELF, and the SEO consultancy is there to coach you and report on your progress. This may sound basic but there are millions of data points in SEO, and any good SEO consultancy knows which few of those millions are critical AND actionable. That's not basic. NOBODY can do your SEO for you. That would be like saying "I hired a business strategist and waited for my business to double but it didn't, so that means the strategist didn't do his job." Here are some things Netmark has coached us on that most of our other SEO's either never thought of or didn't do near as thoroughly: (1) optimization of Google Webmaster tools, sitemaps, 404's, schema; (2) optimization of title tags, H1 tags, meta content descriptions, on-page body copy, friendly URL's, redirects, internal link densities and conversion snippets; (3) optimization of JPEG compression, caching and site speed; (4) identification of optimized backlink resources; (5) optimization of language, voicing, responsivity, UI, long-tail phrases, Javascript, on-page events; (6) Conversion Rate Optimization - this is possibly one of 2 most important value-adds on this list; (7) optimization of Google Analytics, Moz, IP masking; (8) optimization of AdWords, Bing Ads, negative keywords, ad copy, PLA's, rich snippets, remarketing and content advertising (9) prioritization of social media, blog, videos, fresh content plus coaching on what is the best content and keywords for the blog and social media; (10) setup and optimization of 3rd party reviews; (11) reputation management... the list goes on. Notice I said "coached us on" not "did for us while we sat back". One thing we did learn by trial and error is that due to the specialization of our product line, SEO's are not the best source for copywriting, but that's more a clarification of their role than an indictment on their service as a whole. Lastly, one of the reasons I selected Netmark out of the crowd in the first place, was because the other firms on my radar were based in large urban areas - which isn't so bad in itself but I'm an old guy when it comes to business years but a young guy when it comes to tech savvy, and I just happen to believe that urban business cultures are more prone to (a) turnover of skilled staff; and (b) higher pressure to commodotize complex services like SEO consulting. By "commoditize" I mean that in a very broad sense, urban shops are more likely to approach their business paradigm as if each customer is a statistic and needs to be conformed to a box, so that the enterprise can stamp out more "boxes" for less overhead. This may serve customers of manufactured products well, but not customers of consulting services. Consulting is very personal; it's a craft and an art; it involves trust and understanding, success and failure, nuance and subtlety. The sheer "noise" in an urban office (frequent new job postings, high management turnover, the exhaustion of long commutes, the in-your-face stimulus of urban / material lifestyles) takes a toll on the quality of consulting. Again this is purely an instinctive observation based on decades of working in business, so please save your rebuttals for somebody else who isn't as close to successful retirement after what most would consider an ideal quality-of-life. Back to Netmark. I recently told 2 of my contacts there, in 2 separate conversations, that they're the best consultants in their field we've ever had. That's saying a lot for a scrappy e-commerce shop like ours, who began our own SEO in 1995, and who has very high expectations of performance from all our consultants. Example: when your SEO guy emails you at 2am on Saturday to say he's thinking about one of your problems and he found a solution and that he'll work on it before Monday morning, then you know you're dealing with a professional who cares about the success of your business, not a number pusher who's just looking to step on your head so he can climb up to the next 'deal'. read more

We hired Netmark to take over our very large Wordpress website, add new features, and work on SEO using Google AdWords. They made a lot of promises, but delivered very few of them. When we finally moved the site to another company they did everything they could to stonewall our efforts. They pretended to be helping, but gave us wrong passwords and security files and locked the permissions on everything so we could not make changes to our own website.
