Melissa assured us that her team could work around our busy schedules. With obvious concern pertaining to this Covid-19 situation riding in the back of our Minds, i was super grateful that they were offering at home therapy sessions.Melissa recommended Kirsten to work with our son who is almost 3 years at the time of writing this. Kirsten has made leaps and bounds with our son and its only been three weeks. Its been an absolute pleasure watching and learning alongside him. My wife and i are happy to have Kirsten and Melissa helping out our Little family and getting my boy the speech therapy he needs to help him succeed. Please consider Melissa and her team when making the decision to get your babies a developmental boost! Covid 19 Note: Melissa's team utilizes necessary precautions working with young children. He came for a speech delay, but ended up gaining a family. They really care about him and are invested in his life. I really believe they do this because they care about children and not for financial gains. They have been so wonderful with my family even to the point where my insurance does not cover any of their services but I pay out-of-pocket because it's been invaluable for my son. I do a mix of in-home in office and in school so they can facilitate all kinds of speech needed.

The place is disgusting and the people working there are incompetent, overworked, understaffed and because they have to hurry they can't take care of your loved one. There is no doctor on site, new patients don't get seen for over a week. When my loved one passed away in this facility after a week staying there, someone called in incomprehensibly English to tell me that she "expired" When I came to pick up her belongings, they didn't say anything, not even condolences. They just gave me a plastic garbage bag with her clothes, glasses and phone... It was one of the most shocking experiences in my whole life and I am a nurse who has seen many rehabilitation places, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. I'm surprised that place didn't get shut down and that people allow the elderly to be treated like that.

This place needs a system of taking bedridden patients outside at least 3 times a week. - even if…read moreit's for 10-15 minutes. It's not dirty in appearance unless you're spending a good deal of time there on your visits. For example, I opened my family member's drawer and found roaches. The staff didn't seem embarrassed, just told me to alert maintenance as if I worked there. Conveniently, maintenance doesn't work weekends. It was very hurtful and inconsiderate. When they saw that I was getting ready to take photos, they acted on getting rid on the nastiness.

They also accept the Self-Determination Program, which has made services much more accessible for us. After working with Ms. Kristin for a little over a year, we have seen the most improvement we've ever seen with my daughter. Her articulation is so much better, her vocabulary has increased tremendously, and she is now 100% intelligible. What I appreciate most about Kristin is that she really understands PDA. She does not push my daughter in a way that overwhelms her, but she still encourages her to work, participate, and have fun while doing it. Kyra is also wonderful to work with. If there is ever a problem, no matter what it is, she will work with you to find a solution. We are so grateful for Kristin, Kyra, and Sound It Out Speech Therapy and would absolutely recommend them.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Laura. She performed a thoughtful, thorough evaluation and…read moreexplained everything in a way we could understand. That clarity alone lifted a huge weight off our shoulders. From there, she met our toddler exactly where he was. Every session was engaging, play-based, and tailored to his interests, and she always took the time to explain what she was doing and why. We left each visit feeling empowered with practical and fun tools to use in every day life. We started seeing results immediately: our toddler's intelligibility started improving within a week of trying her tools. What stood out most was how observant and encouraging she was. She celebrated every bit of progress while giving us honest, thoughtful feedback, and she treated us as partners in helping our son communicate. As parents, that combination of expertise and kindness meant the world to us. If you're looking for an exceptionally knowledgeable, compassionate speech-language pathologist, especially if you're concerned about apraxia or motor speech disorders, I recommend Laura wholeheartedly. She has had a lasting impact on our family, and we're so grateful for everything she did for our son. I only wish we could have met her cat ;)

From the beginning, he took the time to really listen and understand what I was going through. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and is deeply committed to helping them get better. He has a great balance of honesty and motivation. He's straightforward about the work that needs to be done, but he encourages you in a way that makes you feel supported every step of the way. His calm energy also makes you feel heard and immediately puts you at ease. The entire environment here is also incredibly warm and welcoming. The therapists clearly know each other well and have real relationships with one another, which creates such a positive and supportive atmosphere. Highly recommend this practice!…read more Following surgery for a fractured scaphoid bone in my wrist, my surgeon referred me to Hands On OT. I was assigned to work with Lori, who was excellent -- experienced, knowledgeable and informative. She helped me improve my strength, flexibility, and movement in my hand/wrist/fingers, using heat, exercises, and cold. I went 2x/week for several months before eventually tapering down to 1x/week. I kept requesting my doctor's office renew my OT order because I found the guidance there so helpful, and the atmosphere so friendly. (All the staff seemed equally caring and skillful.) Note: This small homey office is located in a converted ground floor apartment of a vintage 2-story apartment building (about a block from the Santa Monica beach, south of Pico Blvd.) I was always able to find a metered parking space within about a 5-min walk for my apointments (Mon-Thur afternoons.)
