I was referred to Courtney at this practice. When I contacted her about scheduling an appointment, another woman I hadn't heard of named Shanti contacted me and told me she needed to do a consultation. I informed her that I would rather do the consultation directly with Courtney as I had no idea who this person was. She insisted that she needed to do it and called me and started asking me some extremely personal questions about myself and my life without informing me that the conversation was confidential. Talk about a big no no when it comes to this type of work. I told her I was uncomfortable answering these detailed questions. I didn't request to speak with her or see her and I'm still not clear what her role is. I was given no reassurance that there was any confidentiality. She told me that I probably wasn't a "good fit" and hung up on me. Very disconcerting for a business that is supposed to help people. Extremely unprofessional and rude. So you are correct Shanti - this isn't a good fit as I don't appreciate your invasive questions or violating my privacy. read more

Before working with Becky, I had tiptoed in and out of therapy for a few years. A few months here, a few months there. Usually when I was in a crisis. And once the crisis was "over", I would end sessions because I was never ready to unpack deeper issues or I didn't feel that comfortable with the therapist I was seeing.
