We picked this one since they still had some parking available. It is pretty big place to. It was 10 bucks for parking. As you drive down the street there were lots of cars lining the streets avoiding the parking fee but I wasn't going to walk anymore today. We just finished a long hike already. The ranger said that there was an event at the Pavilion so parking might be scarce in that area . We went that way anyway and scored a spot close to the beach. I really couldn't see any event though. Some of the girls were already changed so I sent them to get a spot on the beach while my wife and I got ready. We walked down to the beach and to my surprise the girls scored a picnic table right near the water. Lucky for this late in the afternoon. It was almost 2PM. We just had a kid digging a mot in front of us. No bother. Put out the blanket and laid out. It was overcast but still warm enough. I took the plunge in . The girls were all surprised but after the initial coldness it was fine. Two of the girls got in later. I got out and sat on the table. We all had a great time there. It was pretty clean and not to crowded.

We got here on a pretty good day, not too hot and not cold. It was a little cloudy and rain was coming in, but the sun was in and out of the clouds. It cost $10 for parking. They were having an event, so parking was pretty full, but we did find a spot. The beach is pretty clean. There were a lot of people around. It was nice to lay and relax on the beach after our morning hike.

It's quite magical if you ask me. Nevada Beach is THAT beach. Tons of sand dunes, calm and shallow waves, beautiful mountain views, and wonderful sunsets. My kind of beach for sure. Stopped by in the early evening to do one of my favorite beach time activities; catch a sunset. Since it was around 6 pm, there were a few open parking spots on the street available. Didn't know if it would be full inside, so I just parked on the street. If you want to park inside, there's a $10 entrance fee. Worth it if you're planning on spending the entire day here, but you might get lucky like me and find a close spot on the street if you're only planning on spending a couple of hours. There's a paved walking trail that will take you straight to the beach. This trail is flippin' gorgeous by the way! It's surrounded by those lush and lovable tall Tahoe pines. Once you make it down to the beach, there's plenty of space to spread out and enjoy. The sand isn't the softest so I'd advise bringing some flip flops or sandals to save your feet. But once your feet hit the water, you should be fine. There are several bbq pits and picnic tables. Lots of clean restrooms too. The camping grounds are located on the opposite side of the beach, so it feels a little more private. They keep this beach really clean. It's not secluded by any means, but it doesn't feel crowded which I enjoy. People respect the space of others here. The waves are shallow so it's the perfect beach to swim in. The sunsets are so beautiful. I guess many people don't stay here for sunsets because most of them were gone by the time the sun starting going down. More for beach for me! I ain't complainin' about it. Nevada Beach is dog friendly so feel free to bring your furry friends with you. As far as ease of access goes, this is definitely one of the best beaches that I've been to while in Tahoe.

Entrance to the beach from the parking lot. No dogs on the beach, but saw a lot of dogs on the beach.

Gates open at 8AM to drive into the park. Get there early since parking lot and driveway backs up onto the highway. Please make sure to read the no parking signs since they will tow your car. Make sure to book Camping reservations ahead of time since. Nice park and campground along the Lake Tahoe lake. The beach sand gets your feet really dirty. Never been in sand that gets your feet really dirty. Bathrooms close to each parking lot. No soap in the bathroom.

This was my beach for as long as I can remember. The spacious beach with ample sand and spots to plop down. The distance in the water between buoy to buoy for swimming. Man is it crowded now in 2023, even on weekdays. Typically I will park and run (jog) the trails within the campground/forest/meadow before heading down to the beach. The parking on the street is usually pretty open. On weekends you have to get there early for a spot for free parking. The water in the lake is best in late July through mid September. I think Nevada beach has the best views of the mountains. Hands down my favorite!

This is one of our favorite beaches in Lake Tahoe, never crowded when we have visited. The restrooms are clean and there are a lot of picnic tables. The water is clear and beautiful of course that is pretty much all of Lake Tahoe. Parking is $10, it is more if visiting on a holiday. We saw a sign that said it would be $35 on 4th of July. I like the sand at this beach, and it goes on for a long stretch. It is near South Lake Tahoe side with shops and restaurants nearby.

I would love to come back here again. It was an accidental visit . Thanks for other people recommendations and helped us to decide to visit the place. It was a windy morning but never stopped us to enjoy the place. Beautiful park. The mountain is so radiant especially with snow on top of it. The beach water is so clear. The sand is so soft and anyone could walk barefooted on it. There is walking mat if it bothers you walking on the sand. There are three sections of the park and we tried to cover each one . Plenty of trees that give full shades, there are seats near the water. I enjoyed watching the ducks, geese playing by the water. If staying longer, the $10 entrance fee is worth it. There is a campground site nearby. The location is not far from the main downtown. Quiet area , far from the main road.

There is no sign on the beach that said not to sit around the premise by these benches. We already sat and settled and had to move further when the park lady in vest said "there's a private party and you have to move further down", would be nice if there's a sign so the public knows. Not to be Karen but here's the proof lol

The approach to Nevada beach if you park on the road.

This review is for Nevada Beach. We try and go to this beach at least once during every trip to Tahoe. It is easy to find (take the road opposite the Safeway), there is lots of parking (if the lot is full, park along the road) and it is usually less crowded than other beaches in South Lake Tahoe. Try and find a shady spot under a tree, a picnic table or bench, or simply plop your stuff down on the hot sand. The water is icy cold - perfect for cooling off with a quick wade or a swim on those hot July days. Couple of watch-outs: (1) boats on the lake sometimes get a bit off course heading for the jetty on the south side of the beach. There are markers to follow but there are a lot of amateurs on the water who make mistakes. (2) flocks of Canada geese land on the beach looking for food. Besides the copious amounts of poop they disperse, they tend to be quite aggressive. Please remind your kids they are wild - warn them to not approach or pet them. Otherwise, enjoy your day at the beach!

Good place to watch sunset. We parked in the road and walked in. It was like 1/4 miles. Lots of picnic tables in trees and benches Closer to water. Bathroom facilities were open and a faucet to wash off sand. Lots of geese and gulls scavenging. Coarse sand beach.

Brilliant vibe for a beach ..There's a 10$ parking fee but you can reuse the charge till end of the day (before 7 pm).. If you're looking for a quick hike, there's ample space to walk around , else you could chill out with a group and catch great views of the sunset

Five stars for the sunset at Nevada Beach. It's so beautiful. We arrived around 4 pm on a Saturday. It's was late enough in the day that some parking spaces were available in the lot. Not sure how much the parking fee is since we parked on the street for free. Bring a wagon! The trek to the beach is quite a distance and your children will not help you carry the food and drink to/from the car. There are picnic tables and trees that provide shade, although they are quite a bit set back from the water. The bathrooms are not cleaned as often as they should be, however, there are conveniently located near each parking lot. This is such a family friendly location with plenty of space for social distancing. There were mostly RVs in the campground, which had peek a boo views of the water. Not sure if tent camping is allowed as I didn't see many but I can imagine how beautiful it must be in the morning. Everything about Nevada Beach was awesome but the best part was watching the sunset. Get your camping chairs, your favorite beverage, grab you Boo and head to this spot. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful place to enjoy the lake in the mountains. Unbelievable views. I came here with my family and we had a little picnic using one of the many available tables. Just 50 yards away from the waters edge. Lots of pinecones. Bugs weren't to bad. No real messes or trash blowing around to mention. The area seems very clean. Bathroom buildings are scattered around. If I had a hammock I would of fallen asleep here. I was doing all the driving. I walked my butt over to the water but man was it cold!!!! Brrrr!! I couldn't imagine how the other folks were swimming out there but they were. We came during the first covid hit so crowds were minimal. We didnt show up early early but was able to find parking inside close to the beach. I didnt have an easy time. after the long drive I had to pull the over packed buggy thru very loose "sand" and I was just digging in instead of rolling. It was ok tho. I needed the work out after sitting on my butt for so long. I definitely recommend coming here and if I end up in Tahoe again in my lifetime, I will be stopping here for that nap!!!!

Conveniently located near the casinos. $10 to park and parking spots were close to the beach. Nice area to paddle board.

On the afternoon that we arrived, we were lucky that the parking kiosk was not working and the gate to enter was open, so we lucked out with free parking. But will mention that this most likely was during off season because it was pretty cold on the day of our visit (we were one of very few crazy people willing to kayak in the water on this cold day (low to mid 60's). After we parked, my husband and I pulled our foldable kayaks over to the sand. After putting our kayaks together, we launched ourselves from the sand and then were off. Initially the water nice and calm but about 30 minutes into it, the waves started to get choppy and the winds were blowing kind of hard, so we only managed to kayak for about an hour but it was a fun visit. The view from my kayak was very beautiful and serene (before the winds starting to blow harder). Please note that near this beach is dog friendly, Zephyr Shoals Beach north of Zephyr Cove Resort. But where we parked and launched our kayaks is not dog friendly. There is food sold from the concession stands and there are restrooms on this beach (but I did not use any of the restrooms, nor did I purchase any food). Also kayaks are available for rent here. Overall, we had a good visit and would consider coming back here to kayak again the next time we visit Lake Tahoe.

Pope Beach is one of several beaches located on National Forest land. When my husband and I came for a visit 2 Wednesdays ago (in March), it is during the off peak season. It has gated access for cars, in which it cost $10 (but prices increase during July 4th weekend). But we ended up parking along State Highway 89 (among other cars) and walked on the bike trail over to the beach. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed. It was nice to be able to visit this beach when it was not crowded and just watch the water (which looks to be really clean). The beach itself was very clean and this beach allows for you to swim, kayak, canoe or paddleboard. The beach does have public restrooms. There were also picnic tables and plenty of shade from the trees. Definitely a place to consider when you come to Lake Tahoe in the warmer months if you are looking for a little lake/ beach fun.
