Thanks for helping make memories on the lake today!! Celebrated our 35 Anniversary with Family and friends!! They were helpful to share exactly where to go and also explain parking ! Really good communication before the boat tour! Once there we were able to bring our food and drink on the boat and head out towards Emerald Bay!! All the kids really enjoyed it! Once at the Bay Stacey and Ed gave insight to history which we thoroughly enjoyed! We were able to stay awhile and take photos together! Thanks for a very nice day!!

Wow another amazing tour. The water was amazing, crew are fun and educational and then there is the the Thunderbird Lodge... so spectacular. Hands down my favorite tour on Lake Tahoe.

I had the distinct pleasure of going out on a lovely wooden boat called "The Tahoe" out of Zephyr Cove, NV, on its regular cruise to the Thunderbird Lodge near Incline Village. On the way up we were served pastries and hot coffee, as well as offered stronger drinks. I asked Ed (the 1st mate) for a brutally spicy bloody mary, and was not disappointed. We strolled the shoreline as the knowledgeable and well spoken Captain Dave told us about some history and many of the houses along the shoreline. That man really knows a lot about Tahoe history, I've lived here for years and I learned a lot from him. Once we got to the Thunderbird Lodge, we pulled up into the estate's private cove for docking and unloading. This really was starting to feel like quite the special experience. As we were given a full guided tour of the grounds by our very own Captain Dave, he told us facts and tales about the estate and its eccentric owner. I brought my camera and everyone was patient and courteous about giving me time to get some decent shots, especially our tour guides. We never felt rushed. After checking out the main house, tunnels, boat house (featuring the incredible Thunderbird Yacht) and card house, we were led back to the cove where Ed had prepared a nice picnic lunch, with deserts and cold drink included. We were told that we could make ourselves comfortable at any of the nearby tables, of which there were many around the grounds, and all featured amazing views. However my lady and I decided to take our lunch and chilled white wine, and sit on the beach, right in the sand. The weather was perfect out and made this such an enjoyable time to relax and enjoy the place we were lucky enough to be. I even had time to take a quick dip in the swimming area before we had to board for our voyage back to Zephyr. On the return journey, I ordered a gin and tonic, in true George Wittel fashion. There were books set out for us all to read, about George and his pets, automobiles, and that gorgeous boat he had. The guest and I enjoy a lightened mood from the experience and engaged in friendly banter about what a character that old hermit was. The ride home was much shorter and there was hardly a word spoken by the captain. It was very relaxing, as we had all learned so much already, it was the perfect time to unwind and enjoy the sights, with nothing but the steady drone of the Ford 427 V8 powering us assuredly back to port. I would recommend this to any friends or family who had the means. The trip was well worth the expense! We practically felt, and were treated like, royalty the whole time. Great trip, crew, boat, place, experience, and memories that will last a lifetime. An unforgettable day, and a truly romantic experience for myself and my lovely lady.

We ended up choosing Tahoe Experience because Bret was so positive, patient, and offered great prices. On the boat, we had Chris, a freelance captain who works with Bret. Chris was a joy to be around. He was super relaxed, funny, and kind. He took great care of us during our boat rental. The ride to Emerald Drive took about 30 minutes, and we spent an hour there before heading back. Sadly, I got hurt while paddleboarding. It was all my fault since it was my first time. Chris helped me out of the water, took care of my scrapes, and drove us back to shore safely. He even gave us the closest emergency hospital details and offered to refund half of the agreed amount. We were so grateful for his help and really appreciated his kindness. Bret texted me to check in and say he was sorry about what happened. Bret and Chris are truly amazing people to work with. Even though I was at fault, we had a blast meeting Chris and having him as our captain. I definitely plan to reach out to Bret again when I visit Tahoe in the future and would highly recommend his services to anyone who comes to the area.

My kids chose the 2-hour Class C - 20 feet open Bow Speed Boat ($478). I thought we would have a driver with us to take us out but no.... They showed my kids how the boat operates, took us out to the open water, and let us loose! There was eight of us on board. It was beautiful out on the water, with the rocking waves, and beautiful scenery and sky. But not when you have my kids driving it like a race car on water. We were rocking like crazy and we all got wet. Especially my grandchildren sitting at the front, who were drenched! I told my kids to slow down, but they say, "he said we could floor it." OMG!! The kids had to put on life jackets and the adults were told there are emergency life jackets on board. Well, with my kids enjoying what the boat can do, I threw on my life jacket! I admit, my kids are very responsible drivers on land. They had so much fun driving the boat in the wide open lake. As scared as I was of possibly being overtaken by waves or capsizing, it was an amazing experience, and it felt so good out there. Absolutely beautiful!! I really enjoyed it, and the staff were great. They know exactly what they're doing. The water started to get kind of choppy, so we ventured back towards the shore after an hour, called them on the radio, and staff came out on a dingy to help dock the boat so that we can safely get out. I am so glad I went on this excursion. If you love the water and drifting up and down with the waves, this is a must try!

We went on the 2PM cruise today and had fantastic weather for a lake cruise. They advised us to start lining up around 1:30p, started boarding around 1:45p and were promptly cruising following key safety messages. Key things to note below: -There is available seating toward the front outside, if you appreciate some sun and a cool breeze these may be the seats for you! -Guests moved in and out throughout the cruise, we opted to stay in for most of it but had no issues moving around outside to take photos comfortably. -Snacks and drinks are available for purchase onboard. -They had comfy blankets available inside to take outside to keep warm (very nice touch and they appeared to be very clean) -They did a great job slowing down in Emerald Bay and highlighting wildlife nearby for viewing and photography. -Don't forget to bring cash to tip the well-deserving crew! -We had a cool mix of tourists and locals to chat with on the cruise. -There are padded bench style seats indoor and plastic chairs as well. The upper deck also had seating (no shade up top aside from some in the front) -There are restrooms on board, I didn't use them but they were available. Highly recommend for a relaxing and informative cruise around South Lake Tahoe & Emerald Bay. Will definitely cruise again on our next visit to South Lake Tahoe. Star employee - The gal in the ticket office helped us as our tickets printed oddly. She confirmed we were on the list and would be able to board without it. She was so friendly & set a cheerful tone for the day. :) Note, I typically never write reviews this quickly but they did an amazing job and we had a few minutes to spare before dinner nearby. :) Happy Sailing!

I got absolutely none of it. At boarding, the dock was chaotic with zero organization -- they were prioritizing a large corporate group while the rest of us were left confused and waiting. We were sent upstairs where there was no seating, forcing us to stand in the cold for nearly two hours while spending $100 out of pocket on drinks to hold us over for the dinner that was almost 2 hours late! Then we were literally packed into a cramped stairwell for 30 minutes -- a fire hazard their own service manager admitted to -- while the corporate group enjoyed the upper deck. When we were finally seated, I had to remind the manager I'd paid for window seats because she tried to put us in the middle of the room. By then it was pitch dark outside. Zero views. Zero complimentary drink. Ever. The food was a disaster. My medium rare steak came out overcooked and tough, the salmon was cold, and we were rushed off the boat before we even finished dessert. To make it worse -- I've called multiple times and been put on hold and hung up on repeatedly. I've sent emails with zero response. A manager on the boat promised a refund and never followed through. The customer service is as bad as the experience itself. Save your money and your special occasions for somewhere that actually values its guests.
