My NP recommended that I go to a sleep therapist because I am a terrible sleeper. I have issues with staying asleep and always wake up in the morning feeling like I've been doing battle all night long. I have to take a multitude of supplements in order to fall asleep and then have poor sleep quality all night. Dr. Gentry seemed very dismissive and unsympathetic to my concerns, stating she takes a lot of the same supplements I do. She basically told me to just read a book that she recommended and dismissively said I could schedule a follow up appointment if I wanted to. Considering that it cost me $130 for her to tell me to buy a $13 book on Amazon, I went ahead and canceled the follow up. I'm reading the book and it's fine, I guess. Nice facility. I made an appointment to get an overnight O2 monitor. Paul made it easy to explain its use and reviewed my CPAP data. He is knowledgable and took care to make sure I understood how to use the device. My only comment is that the hours on the door show that they are open from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM. I think this is backwards, as I and several others had appointments around 8:30-9:00 AM. read more

It seems they must get a lot of really stupid people because I did often end communications feeling like they think I'm a total idiot. Not much surprise as the average IQ about town is like what? 5? But overall everything pretty much went as expected. Device is pretty easy to use and the instructions are so clear you'd be a moron NOT to get them right. I was a wee bit taken aback when I went to drop the device off on 12/14 and found that the office was "closed" on that day. So why the mad dash to return before noon? I had to rush and hurry to drop off the device before noon and put it through a deposit slot in the door - which was probably told to me 5-9 times. Is this really a problem? I don't think anyone was touching the devices until the next day the place is open. Not a big deal, just an observation. But overall, a good experience, we got the sleep study done and now await the results. read more

They provide you with a comfortable bedroom encouraging you to "feel at home". It's suggested you adjust the temperature, lighting, etc to your liking. The bed itself seems very high quality making your night stay easier. . Paul was professional explaining everything step by step. If you're nervous you'll be at rest before bedtime I'd highly recommend this facility! I have never had a worse experience with any clinic anywhere. Not one single staff member was decent to work with. My husband and I went together. Had the same exact insurance yet they screwed his up completely. He ended up with a balance we didn't know about because they had our Incorrect mailing address even though we'd given it to them correctly more than once. We ended up going to collections over this. The actual appointment is rather quick considering what they charge you for. Most of your time is spent just filling out paperwork that could have been done online. After a 3-4 minute demo of how to use the equipment you are sent on your way. The technician seemed a little grumpy and not interested in answering questions. But the thing that bothered me the most about the whole experience was their lack of professional protocol. When they called my insurance to get approval for the sleep study, they failed to find out if the approval was for one night or two nights. Because they assumed it was for two nights and the insurance only covers one they want me to pay for their blunder on the details. If you have the option to go to a more professional company I would definitely recommend it. read more

My sleep doctor sent me there for an at-home sleep study. No complaints. That process went smoothly and the study was successful. Results were that I have severe sleep apnea. My sleep doctor then wrote me a prescription for a CPAP machine and sent it to Nevada Sleep Diagnostics (NSD). Since they are in network for my insurance AND they issue CPAP machines, I thought I would have my machine in no time. Boy was I wrong. I received a letter from NSD two weeks later stating that they would not be providing me with a CPAP machine and they had forwarded my prescription to a company called Nationwide Medical out of Calabasas, CA. Why would they refer me to a company with no office in Reno when there are other CPAP providers in-network that do have a local office? Makes no sense, EXCEPT that perhaps they did not want to send business to local competitors. When I contacted Nevada Sleep Diagnostics for a reason as to why they were declining me a CPAP machine, no response. I even contacted my insurance, Blue Cross, to complain that one of their providers was denying me service. NSD didn't return their phone calls, either. If you are thinking about using this company, proceed with caution. They just might screw you over too. read more

Just had my first sleep study done and am very pleased with how accommodating, Alan (My technician) was and made me very comfortable and was exceptional at explaining what was going on as he was doing it. I did the home sleep study, having taken 3 in clinic studies before, this one was a breeze. First day given compete instructions on the use of the equipment. Two nights sleep study, and then return of the equipment which was the size of a pack of smokes strapped around your chest. read more

It was clean. The Tec was nice and the bedroom was quite and dark so i can sleep. I came in at 8:00 got showed to my room. Answered the question got my gown on and my PJ's on went to get my wires on and got situated for bed. I had been there a year ago, with different techs and it wasn't nearly as nice as this visit. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms and bathroom is very clean. One thing I liked is that this facility has QUEEN SIZE BEDS!! ~Not those cheap, plastic hospital beds that some other places have. I was VERY surprised at how comfortable it was. This place is terrible. I did a sleep study with them in late 2021, and have had nothing but problems. Everything was difficult - I went to an empty office with one impatient tech that rushed me through the home test instruction, the DME company they "contract" with that didnt have any bi-pap or c-pap machines in stock for 4 months, and now I'm having issues with the settings on the machine and there is zero support from this company. They are there only to serve themselves and collect a check from your insurance, nothing more. They care not for your health at all. I would give zero stars if possible. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I went to their office to pick up my equipment to use for my sleep study. When I called for directions the girl was very specific how to get there and I was very glad because there are two sections that have the exact same numbers. It was no problem for me because she told me exactly where the building was. I was taken in by a lovely technician who showed me how to use the equipment at home. I was able to put the Telemetry on for two nights and bring it back to them on the third day. All went well and I hope I get a good report from the doctor. read more

OK so I just got back from the second stay here to figure out the machine to be used. Alan was here once again to take care of business. He was just as gentle and warm as the first time. I said it before, he is very good at his job. This time I was wired up just like the last time. The difference was I was also connected to the breathing machine. I discovered something about myself tonight that I never considered before. I am a wimp. I did not last the whole session leaving at two am. Now so many folks really find great relief using this device. I found it to be one of the most horrible things I have ever volunteered for. I used the mask that covers the mouth and nose. I felt like I was fighting to breathe, like I was being smothered. It actually panicked me. I am not one to panic. I knew I was not going to be able to continue and certainly not use this each night. So I stopped the session. Alan was very nice and did not make me feel the fool. He gave me the option to take a bit to relax and try again. He also said I am welcome back if ever I feel I can continue on. I just wanted to get out of there and catch my breath, I was belching huge amounts of air on my ride home. This should have been an easy thing to do, Alan sure makes it so. But I just could not take it. So if you ever do this use these folks because they do well and I suspect you will be ok. Oh and one other thing. Something they do not have control over. I believe it is a realty office attached to one side of the building. They have cleaners come in to clean. What they do is make so much noise it sounds like they are tearing the building down. I know it woke the other folks sleeping. I was awake doing my panic thing but if I had been asleep it would have wakened me too. read more

I am new to Yelp and this is my first review. That being said, I created this profile specifically for writing this review. I have had OSA for many years now and have had many sleep tests done in the past. I have to say that Nevada Sleep was simply outstanding; plain and simple. Upon first arrival, the building appeared well maintained and well lit. The site itself was comfortable and looked very well taken care of. The floors were clean, the bathrooms spotless, and the rooms were suffiently large. I would also mention that the beds used by this place were Queen size beds. Other places use hospital beds, but not here. Comfort all the way! I did have some trouble with the appointment people on the phone and I had one lady that was rather rude to me. I also had a little difficulty finding the building. The place is located in a "medical plaza" and every building looks the same. If you can scope it out BEOFRE you go, that would be smart. As for my results, they were fast and done within a few days. I was surprised by how fast they actually were. The doctor had my results and adjusted my machine within days. Simply awesome! And I got all new equipment. Lastly, the sleep tech was very friendly and is one of the funniest people I have ever met; he put me at ease right away and made everything go smoothly. I even laughed a few times. He was extremely knowedgable on all things sleep and explained every thing he was doing, even though I had done many tests before. I can truly say he loves his job. I would return here just so that I can have him again. I give this place a 5-star for the tech alone!
