I stay impressed with this facility. This time I was not the patient but more the care giver. The care and attitude of the staff was exceptional. Very caring and thoughtful to ensure every comfort afforded and every question answered. I will always come to this particular facility as the need arises. I have never seen the same doctor twice as it turns out, but I find each and every one I have interacted with has inspired my confidence. Just an fyi... when you are in a bid beside another bed with just a curtain between you, seems all those important hipa restrictions are out the window. Digestive Health Center has proven to be a Five Star Health Center. My own personal experience of having a Colonoscopy, the quality of care I received was truly loving, caring and professional. There are so many people that take care of you each day... it's a village. Having a Colonoscopy is a very personal procedure. From the front desk staff, manager and administrative manager, to all of the many nurses of Digestive Health Center, that help you feel cared for and loved. This was a very good experience. Each patient is given a new pair of blue socks to keep your feet warm and a nice warm blanket. From check in, to the Admit nurse who puts in your IV, the anesthesiologist, the doctor who does your procedure and the wonderful recovery nurses. I was sooooo not looking forward to this newly required must have routine screening now that I am the ripe age of nearly 47! But with some reservation I bared down and went in with all the marbles. I made my appointment and went through all the prep with the gal over the phone. It was the prep that had me more concerned than the actual procedure. BTW, it was a colonoscopy screening I was going in for! Anyhow about a week before my scheduled screening I had something come up and had to call and reschedule. They had no record of my appointment at all. I guess everything happens for a reason. Had I done all the prep and shown up for my appointment and they would have sent me away this review would be a -100 stars! Anyhow this time the gal said I'd be getting a handful of texts and emails from DHC to confirm we have you in the system and sure enough I did this go around. So the day before I didn't eat anything and had a little broth. The stuff you have to drink a gallon of the day before the screening was somewhat brutal! I mean it really cleans your insides out!! Anyhow the day of the screening the check in went smooth. The staff was very polite. My doctor was Dr. Tang and had very nice bedside manner. The nurse who administered my fall asleep stuff was very nice as well. Same for the gal who took me back and got me all setup before the doctor came in. I tried counting back from 10 and I think got to 6 and said I don't think it's working and next thing I know they were waking me up. Whatever they gave me I tell ya.... I'm pretty sure I spoke to Jesus while I was out! Anyhow solid place and would recommend to anyone who needs the screening. Dr. Tang dropped in before they released me and asked how I was doing. I remember that much! My only tid-bit of advice is confirm you are on the schedule as the prep is a lot and make sure you are replying to all of their confirmation texts and emails. To do the prep and not be able to carry out the screening would be really tough on anyone in my opinion. Also the better you prep the better the results. Do what they say exactly and the results will be the most accurate they can be. Dr. Tang mentioned this to me after the screening. He said the pictures they were able to get were very clear so good job on the prep. Would be great to have the same group in 10 years from now! read more

A well oiled machine! To those who hire and train this team, bravo! There are MANY people involved in getting a customer through a colonoscopy here but they clearly all know their roles and do everything they can to get you through the procedure as smoothly as possible. My only complaint was the music - music with electric guitars should be banned from medical offices! yikes. That was not calming or soothing! Fortunately it all went quickly so not time to focus on music. read more

I have been going here for several years. Their expertise both in practice and procedures is phenomenal. Office visits are thorough and the doctors listen. My procedures are painless and they will walk you through every step. The MA's and RNS go out of their way to accommodate you. I only have one complaint not with the practice but the phone numbers. I've seen this doctor twice. The first visit I didn't have a good impression. The second time I knew he wasn't for me. He's extremely blunt and doesn't care about your symptoms especially when you bring your history in. He was rude and flat out told me he didn't care. Dr V. Is arrogant and answers so cold. I understand doctors have opinions but his was deliberately rude. Especially since I brought in my history. His comments to bringing them was the other drs in the history, was him handing them back to me. He was arrogant and demeaning. In fairness, the office staff was wonderful. read more

I recently had an endoscopy at the DHC with Dr. Nourani (Gastroenterologist) and his team. The process to get checked in/out is very efficient. Staff is knowledgeable and very comforting during my prep time while explaining what to expect during and after the procedure, starting an IV and going over my medical records and medications I currently take for both prescriptions and OTC. My procedure was scheduled for 0730 and I was required to arrive one hour before. I was taken to the procedure room about 0800 and the assisting nurse got me comfortable and ready. Dr. Nourani arrived about 5 minutes later and explained his process and that it would take him about 10 minutes to perform the procedure and he'd be taking biopsies of both my upper and lower digestive areas. The anesthesia assistant placed my oxygen mask and let me know she'd be adding the medication, to make me sleep, through my IV. My next memory is waking up in a recovery room where Dr. Nourani shared that all went well and he'd have the results of the biopsies in the next couple weeks and we'll review at my follow up appointment. The nurse stayed with me and removed the IV, gave me water, and eventually helped me to sit up. I didn't have any reaction to the anesthetic and felt rested, alert and ready to go home. I was advised not to do any driving or make any critical decisions in the next 24 hours. They located my daughter in the waiting room, wheeled me to the car in a wheelchair and assisted me getting into my seat. I was handed paperwork that was a summary of what occurred during my appointment and any follow up information and contact numbers that I may need to know. My entire time in the center was from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM. read more

Had issues with referring office, Digestive Health Associates, but as a returning patient recently here, my experience was acceptable. The Nurse. Medical Practitioners were all respectful and professional. Not a big wait just a little wait and coordination challenge getting my ride home as I was finished early and lots of phone prompts for driver to work through to return call. Would recommend if you need the procedure. Hope I never have to return..but not too horrible. read more

My husband had a ROUTINE!!!! Coloscopy over 1.5 yearS ago. Second one he has had over the last 10 years. Because the billing office coded it WRONG!!! He is getting billed for it. It should have been billed as a preventative proceedure. Do you think maybe someone in the billing office, cooperate office would understand and rebill it correctly so they will get paid? NO my husband has called everyone he can think of and no one will cooperate and help him get this cleared up. We are beyound livid, our insurance company told him IF they would just rebill it correctly they will pay it in full. The billing office (Dawn) told him that is was fraud to do that and that the doctor dictated the report worong and will not correct it! Today was the day, but before this day I had several phone conversations and all was friendly and handled well. Again names elude me but no matter. Each person I encountered was friendly and gentle. The procedure was done within the timeframe expected and I survived. In fact, when being sedated I was not really aware it was happening and woke up wondering, is it over? It must have been because I was in a different room. Everything was explained before anything was done and all were willing to answer questions if needed. My husband had and an appointment for his gerd. Since he had been suffering for a long time due to other non-medical issues, he took the first appointment offered. It was a couple of days later. Awesome! In recovery the doctor, who he had never met, told him that they didn't find any issues and that he should probably double up on his medication. We spent $551.27 to be later told to take more pills. Wow! What a way to run a practice. We have copies from his procedure but no resolution and no follow up. I realize the insurance companies are at the head of who pays what but shouldn't there be some sort of recourse when a procedure is done unnecessarily? They had my husband's file from his previous doctor (he no longer is practicing in the area.) it appears that after they tell us that they are so busy and will soon need a larger facility that it is being funded by unnecessary procedures read more

The care I received from DHC was fine. My issue was that I am disabled and on a fixed income and asked how much the procedure would cost and was told an amount. When I showed up on the day, I gave them my insurance card and said I would like to confirm how much the procedure would cost. I was told an amount. I paid. 3 weeks later I got another bill in the mail for MANY hundreds of dollars more. They did not get the correct amount I would owe from insurance co. I called my State Rep, I called my Insurance. I have no recourse. DHC would not give me a break on the bill. Buyer beware. Call the medical office and ask them for the billing CODE, then call your insurance company for an exact price. READ before you sign. NEVER trust a medical office to give you a correct price. read more

I will never again do business with digestive health due to the ineptness of their billing department. I am a 75-year-old senior. My 51-year-old son who is on Medicaid and applying for disability, lives with me. April 2018 I had a colonoscopy. Paid $325 co-pay. December 2018 they refunded the co-pay. Now, nearly 2 years later, in October 2019, they re-billed it to me.October 28, 2019, I spoke to a lady named Troy who said she would speak with her supervisor and call me back. There was no call back. December 2, 2019, I spoke with a lady named Tracy, verified there had been no follow up to my 10/28 call. Advised I need to pay $54 a month and must pay in full within six months or collection. Said they had "issues" and refund should not have been sent. December 17, just 15 days after December 2 call, I received a demand letter for payment in full in 10 days, or collection!!! Called again December 17th and spoke to Tayla. Demand letter was "sent in error". Advised me to pay $25 now and she will send financial papers for proof of hardship and speak to her supervisor and call back. I agree with the reviewers who say the procedures go well. But every single time I or a family member has been here, there are big problems with the billing dept. I have paid amounts I thought were wrong but they insisted were correct, only to have it refunded 6 months later. The last time my daughter had a procedure they told her would run $600, and then received bills totalling an additional $2200, was told that the insurance had denied her when she had a statement from the insurance with the amount they had already paid. It is interesting.... the colonoscopy went great and the important part of the business is very good...but that only lasts one day.....avoid this group if you can because of the billing fiascos you will most certainly encounter...! It is not worth the weeks of dealing with trying to get the correct bill and amout....and on top of that, they won't answer the phone.... they want a ton of info on a message and then will only "get back to you" after 3 in the afternoon or before 11 the next morning...! I'm sure glad other businesses don't handle their clients this way. The other option in Reno is much, much better...professional and not nearly as arrogant about "filing the insurance papers as ' a courtesy'.... " I have yet to get a bill that says the same thing... one bill says the colonoscopy was $750...another says $1200, another says they sent to United Health care for insurance, the other one says they submitted it to Horizon Senior Supplement... it will take you weeks to figure out who is charging you and for what....(that assumes that someone will call you back) read more

My husband has a complicated genetic condition and the nurse (Kirsten) has been very responsive and proactive, and treats us like people - not just another patient. Dr. Nourani is the most compassionate and empathetic Doctor I've ever come across. I spent years trying to get a proper diagnosis of my stomach troubles and after being rushed out of multiple offices with a diagnosis of "stress less" "lifestyle changes" It was a godsend to meet with Dr. Nourani and have him sit with me and thouroughly go through the ins and outs of my day making recommendations and changes that he saw fit. I followed the 2 day prep they gave me religiously and believe me it wasn't easy. When I arrived for my colonoscopy I felt I was in an assembly line. I repeatedly told the Doctor/nurses I had asthma. During the procedure, I started coughing and bile entered my lungs. After the procedure I was having extreme difficulty breathing & was given oxygen. They released me and told me to go get an xray (felt herded in & herded out). The xray showed fluid on my lungs, so I went to St. Mary's ER where I was admitted for a 5 day hospital stay with Aspiration Pneumonitis. Thankfully St. Mary's Hospital took good care of me. I'm finally home under continued medical care & continued mediations for at least a month (and that is if all goes well!!) I would give the Digestive Health Center a zero rating if I could, and would NOT recommend them to anyone. I will definately not be going back. They do not care about the patient...only patient volume & dollars! read more
