While there I was there he told me his preference is Audi, and he didn't hear the noise I explained to him, because his hearing isn't that great anymore. Also told me if it was his wife's car, he would tell her to just drive it. As I was leaving, his comment to me was "good luck", which I interpreted as take your car off my lot and don't come back. If he didn't want to work on my car, just be honest and say so. I gave him a chance because I was recommended to his business. just be sure that I will not be recommending anyone to them.

I was surprised when he came back in just under 2 hours and said that the mechanic waited to take their lunch until my car was completed. I was amazed and the price was less than I would expect to pay elsewhere. I have always taken my cars for service here over the past 4 plus years I have lived here even though t is not the closest Chevy/GM dealer to me. It is because of service like this that I will continue to bring my vehicles back her to be serviced and they will get a nod for our next auto purchase.

I was still pretty injured, so I couldn't come in until a few days later, but Tim made me feel at ease. He originally took my call about the Honda I saw online, and when I asked if it had a clean title, he not only texted me the answer, but a picture of the report. I planned on coming in the next day, but due to a change in plans, I was able to come that same day. He answered every text and informed me that he would tell me if the car had been sold, so we wouldn't drive up to find out then. He also let me know the policy on used cars due to how quickly they're moving right now- something that the guy at the other dealership never cared to do. As you can tell by now, I had a bitter taste in my mouth from my previous experience and expected every salesman to be the same. Tim was not. He went above and beyond, and every single person that we encountered was extremely friendly and eager to help. Tim was finishing up with another customer, so another guy pulled the car around. I didn't catch his name, but he was extremely friendly! Once Tim finished up, we took a test drive and all talked on the ride. Not once did I feel pressured into buying. Tim was so personable and laid back, and I got really good vibes from the business and atmosphere which made me purchase me awesome new Honda that day! He was straight forward with pricing and negotiation and it was such a painless process. Matt, the finance guy, was also super friendly and made the paperwork a breeze. He was so welcoming and never pressured me to purchase anything additional. I really appreciate that! For the first time in two weeks following my accident, I finally felt content. I miss my old civic like crazy, but I am so happy with how my experience went that I know I made the best choice by purchasing my car from McElwain. I was able to drop my car off at night and he showed up to make sure everything was fine (although there are cameras). I told him that I needed to work and he was able to get my brakes and rotors done by the time I had to go back to work. There are drinks and snacks and a nice waiting room. Being a female, I was completely comfortable being alone. He takes your car for a test drive to make sure everything sounds and works good after he completes his service. He didn't like how mine sounded so he took it in and fixed the noise. He takes a lot of pictures and he texts also! I would recommend him to anyone in Mahoning County!

I started calling around because my brakes were squeaking, just doing price checks like anyone would. RT Barrett Auto Sales was only the second place I called but something about his spirit over the phone made me stop right there. I didn't even feel the need to keep calling other places. That alone says a lot. When I arrived, I was greeted by Ron and his wife, and from that moment on, the energy was nothing but warm, welcoming, and genuine. They were both incredibly kind, and you can just tell they truly love what they do. The shop itself? CLEAN, organized, and comfortable. Not your typical auto shop at all. They had a TV set up, asked what me and my son wanted to watch (my son is autistic, so that meant a lot), and we ended up enjoying SpongeBob and Madagascar together. They also had a fridge stocked with drinks, name-brand snacks like Lays chips, pretzels, and even a big jar of candy. It honestly felt more like a welcoming space than a waiting room. After driving the vehicle for a few weeks, the issue became worse. I returned to Paul's Collision Repair, where I was told to leave the vehicle and they would try to re-align the front bumper. I picked the vehicle up a second time and the alignment was no better. I have had another collision repair facility look at the vehicle where they advised the front bumper tabs were broken and were glued and taped. They literally advised that "your bumper is being held on by adhesive tape." Joel has not been willing to remedy the situation and is very unprofessional and rude at every interaction. This has been, by far, the worst interaction I have had with a vehicle repair facility. Would highly advise against this repair facility.

I was completely understanding if the work needed more time, but the lack of any update prevented me from arranging a rental car or transportation to work. After two additional days without a response from him, I went to the shop in person--Anthony was not there--and I only received a call back after his camera system alerted him. I picked up my car on the fourth day, but he was again not present and asked me to leave payment and retrieve my keys without any explanation of the work performed. Given the cost, I expected at least a brief discussion of the repairs. In addition, he was not at all apologetic for the lack of communication and leaving me stranded without a car. He also asked me to return after 500 miles for a follow-up of the work, but despite calling and texting to schedule, I have still received no response after 17 days. The customer service experience was extremely disappointing and I would expect a mechanic to take a little more pride in their work.

Instead, I was lied to repeatedly -- first the part was "in inventory," then it wasn't, then I was told I'd be refunded. None of it happened. Just excuse after excuse after excuse. Once he got the money, communication completely stopped. Texts ignored. Calls ignored. Voicemails ignored. He is now actively ignoring the insurance company as well, which speaks volumes. Then it got worse. He held my second vehicle hostage because he failed to pay a subcontractor he hired to fix a problem he caused. Let that sink in -- my property was leveraged to cover his financial incompetence. This is not just unprofessional -- it is deceptive, unethical, and predatory. In my experience, this business follows a clear pattern: collect insurance money, delay indefinitely, dodge accountability, and disappear when questioned. At this point, legal action is unavoidable. If you are reading this and considering Bodine Auto Works, walk away immediately. There are bad shops, and then there are shops that should not be in business at all. Save yourself the nightmare.
