My husband and I came here on a Friday night and were seated right away. As soon as I tasted my spring roll, I regretted coming. It wasn't fully cooked and the vegetables inside tasted old. This is Paducah folks and considering the costs involved, ya would think it was he only Chinese food for 200 miles. My husband and I just left New Asia. What a terrible disappointment! We had the PuPu platter to start. It did not come with what was on the menu and was served in the usual wooden dish but it was almost empty. They give you two of each item and none of it was great. The wings, chicken skewers and crab rangoons were okay. My husband ordered the General Tso chicken that should be spicy and crunchy. It was bland, chewy, sweet and gross. I ordered the fried Asian shrimp, it was old and fishy, I could hardly eat it and it was served on shredded iceburg lettuce??!! We both ordered the pork fried rice (you have to pay extra for that, otherwise all you get is a cup of white rice with your entrée) It was not worth the extra money. It barley had a taste other than smoke and salt. My husband had one beer, I drank water, our bill was $46 and that would have been okay if we had enjoyed our meal. They are very stingy with their portions (not that you would want more!) The waitress was nice...I will not ever go back and am stunned this is suppose to be the Best of Paducah?? read more

We were here the night before Thanksgiving. We live out of town, but when we come home, we eat at Chong's, but family said "no that there was bad things about Chong's and New Asia is great". So we went. The atmosphere was like one of the strip mall Chinese food takeouts, not laid out that great. The food we ordered: wonton soup, ham fried rice, pressed duck, chicken chop suey, ham fried rice and chicken fried rice was served quickly First, Pressed Duck should be called miniature cube duck, dry and hard. The rice seemed to not be cooked, as it had allot of hard pieces. We also had egg rolls, they were kind of greasy, the soup and the chop suey was good. If it had not been for the great service, I would have rated this at a 1. We will not be back, and say "sorry Chong's that we cheated on you, we will be back!" BTW - we did not take the leftovers - that could have been 2 more meals, they belonged in the dumpster! read more

FINALLY!! We have been without an edible Asian restaurant for way too many years. We live about 40 miles from this place and we will make this a regular stop every time we are in Paducah. Went in for lunch, wife had pressed chicken, great gravy, fresh tasting (except for the mushrooms, but she is picky about those). I had Mongolian beef and it was fresh and just enough spice. Best Chinese food in Paducah. Service is always great and so is the food. Owner is very nice and delivers the food for delivery orders.

Ordered take out: press chicken with white rice, 2 orders of spring rolls, crab Rangoon, fried rice and vegetable lo Mien. The vegetable lo mien was not good. They left out my white rice and 1 or my spring rolls. I called to inform them, I got the usual come back or give it to me next time. I heard a lady in the background saying that everything was there as the lady I'm on the phone with tells me she has my name and to ask for it next time. I will try one more time but my first impression was not good. read more

In a word...extremely good if not exceptional.... For the location, outside of a large urban area, I'd have to say the quality is phenomenal and totally unexpected. I have eaten at literally hundreds of Chinese restaurants in the last forty years, many highly touted, and this is one of the best, in the top five. The spring rolls are transcendent, the finest I can remember having - not overcooked or undercooked, not over-oily or dried out, but instead light, flaky, and delightfully crunchy, with fresh ingredients masterfully bended, producing that ephemeral quality of layers of texture that is the mark of excellence in Asian food. Further, one of my tests for Chinese food is the quality of the beef. Almost every Chinese place, no matter how expensive, seems to scrimp either on beef quality or preparation, as this is costly. Rarely do I get through a beef dish without have to discard an inedible piece or two - and usually more than that. Not so with New Asia. Every piece of beef was of high quality, thinly sliced, tender, and flavorful. Amazing! The chicken dishes are of equally high quality. Be aware, the style of food seems to tend to very fresh and light - so some may find not every dish matches the Americanized style they have come to expect, which was true for me of the cashew chicken. Even so, I was bowled over by the freshness and texture of the vegetables in the cashew chicken. The only true disappointment was with the egg rolls - which were merely decent after my expectations had been unreasonably inflated by the high quality of the other food - still not much to criticize, especially in a restaurant open less than a week. If you are anywhere near Paducah on I-24, or you're driving through, jump off on the US-45 exit for the short hop to New Asia. It's a bit out of sight behind the Snap Fitness, so be warned if you are looking for a big sign on the street. The tasty New Asia food might even justify an expedition up from northern environs of Nashville. read more

This is not supposed to be comparative to spicy ginger or jasmine. Those are a different style of food. As far as Chinese food goes in this town, this is the best. It's cooked to order which is not the case at many others who simply fetch it from the same batch as the buffet. That being said, there is no buffet here. I've been here several times, and it's always good. I like their crab Rangoon especially. Egg rolls are very good. Pressed chicken is very good. (I tend to order the same things every time!) I wish I lived closer, if so I'd eat there every week probably. The place is extremely clean, the people are friendly. Prices pretty reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant highly. read more
