True enough they did not have that sign out anymore and cans are down to .65cents a pound. But, Ce la Vie. What can you do. It is like playing the stock Market.

On top of the native soil in the backyard, they laid down a few sheets of thick black plastic. On top of that plastic sheeting, they laid down 3" - 6" of brown gravel. I contacted a couple contractors and hauling companies who wanted anywhere from $900 to $2,800 to remove the gravel + a dump fee. F that! Now that my wife and I came to the conclusion that we not only don't have $2,800 lying around at our disposal but even if we did - we certainly wouldn't be paying someone else to haul out this gravel for us. So... now that we decided we were going to commit ourselves to this kind of manual labor - where in the hell are we gonna dump all this fricken gravel?! I called the City of Peoria who suggested I call the City of Glendale and talk to their landfill. So I called their landfill and the ady who answered said - we could take it for you, but why not go to Dirt 101? It's closer to you AND it's cheaper! Dirt 101, you say? ...never heard of 'em. So I looked them up and called their number. The nice woman who answered said - of course we'll take it! $15 for as much as you can squeeze into the bed of your truck! SOLD! So my wife and I put ourselves through the ringer and loaded up these totes by hand in the backyard. Since we don't have a small bobcat or skid steer, that meant shoveling each tote and hauling it out to the truck... by hand. ughhhh. Needless to say, it has been a long morning. Fast forward....so Dirt 101 is conveniently located right on Northern Ave. just a couple of miles off the 101. You can't miss it. There is a large sign right at the gated entrance that says DIRT 101. It's also more or less across the street from the landfill / recycling area. So, you pull up to the entrance, cough up your 15 bucks and the woman points you were to go. I owe them an enormous apology because I misinterpreted her first set of directions for me. I ended up dumping the first load near the concrete section much sooner than Area # 1 as I was told. Ughhh... sorry everyone! So we repeated the process and headed out for our second load when a nice gentleman saw us and corrected us. It is sort of confusing as you're essentially surrounded by piles of dirt, asphalt, gravel and concrete. So once he showed me where we SHOULD be dumping our load of gravel - we were on the straight and narrow. So to everyone at Dirt 101 - I apologize for dumping my first load in the incorrect area! We are about a third of the way done and will definitely be back to Dirt 101. I would highly highly highly recommend them for all your material recycling needs. DO NOT dump your shit out in our deserts!! DO NOT destroy the native habitats! Dirt 101 is an awesome business with friendly people who will gladly take your materials for a nominal fee. I would not hesitate to recommend them to my family, friends or fellow Yelp'ers!

They just don't accept plastic or glass bottles here. This place looks like a dump but the customer service is very fast and efficient. Most of the workers here are Spanish speaking so hopefully you can make out what they tell you. My Spanish is Sykes rusty so I only understood 5% of what they said. All in all, this was a pleasant experience. Obviously, you're not gonna get rich by recycling anything but it does give you some pocket change to maybe buy a lottery ticket or two. I don't recall what the exact redemption value was for bringing in your unwanted cans for cash but I got around 50 cents for maybe 1.5 lbs of soda cans. Almost enough for a $1 lottery scratcher. The workers here will unload your trunk for you and weigh it all and than give you the proper amount of money. Fast service and you don't even need to lift a finger besides opening your trunk that is. I'm from Hawaii and back home, you can actually pay a utility bill or cell phone bill with your recycling money. Not here in Phoenix, it's a totally different process here so I'm gonna start trashing all my recyclables instead. Hope this helps my fellow planeteers!!

They paid only for steel pricing because a small condensing unit and air handler had steel caging on the units. However, there was also some raw copper and motors that this place refused to separate and pay as such. We will not being any business with this company moving forward as this is complete laziness and a rip off. We normally use Deer Valley recycling located on I-17 and Deer Valley rd because they are honest and will weigh everything separately and pay accordingly. Also a lot less junkies with shopping carts etc at Deer Valley. Don't waste your time with revolutionized recycling, they will rip you off and treat you like a crack head.

This is a process that typically takes only a few minutes, and I have personally used this facility several times in the past without any issues. Unfortunately, this experience was very different. The gentleman working at the front scale house was unprofessional and disrespectful. He began raising his voice, stating that he had been there since 5:00 a.m. and that he was closing early at 3:45 p.m. When my family stepped out of the vehicle to clarify the situation, he continued yelling, saying that their trash was "not his issue" and reiterating that he had been there all day. Additionally, he stopped a coworker as they were leaving, and together they began recording my family as if they had done something wrong. This interaction was inappropriate--especially in front of a child--and did not reflect the level of professionalism one would expect from a business providing a public service. We have previously appreciated the convenience of this location; however, due to this experience, we will unfortunately choose to take our business to the Glendale location moving forward.

They have options for smaller waste or larger waste but it's all easy to use. $45 for up to 1500 pounds.
