I purchased a beautiful men's full zip jacket, a women's wool blend sweater, and a Patagonia hiking shirt that was 50% off. The young man who rang me up was incredibly nice and very chatty. So much so that he accidentally rang up my purchases at full price. When he realized this, he rang me up again, saying, "Don't worry, you won't be charged twice." Long story short, when I went through my bank statement a week later, I'd been charged twice. I went in today with my statement and the clothing and Kyle was INCREDIBLE. Apologetic, helpful, reassuring, saying he'd "take care of it and contact" me tomorrow. THIS IS WHY we love smaller businesses. They are HUMAN and although like all of us, sometimes make errors, they rectified it immediately. And now I will never go back to REI unless Trail Creek simply doesn't carry what I'm looking for. #customers for life.

I was visiting Wilmington, DE this past week on a business trip. Before I left, I researched men's…read moreclothiers in the area and found Wright and Simon. It was half of a block from my hotel, so I decided to stop in and see what they had to offer. The shop has two entrances, one on Market St. and another on Shipley, the Store cuts through the entire block. I recommend the entrance on Marker St. It has a vestibule with display windows on either side. It gives you the opportunity to take a look at what they have to offer before entering. Once inside, I met Leonard Simon. I found him as well as the in house tailor (who, I am sorry to say, I can not recall his name) welcoming and helpful. Mr. Simon assisted me choose two pairs of Bills Khakis. One pair he had in stock and the other he had to order from the factory. The tailor sized the pants for cuffs while Mr. Simon called Bills Khakis to order the second pair. I was flying back home the next day and was assured the pair of pants they had on hand would be ready by 11:00 AM, and sure enough they were. I have purchased a lot of pants in my time that needed to be tailored, but I have NEVER had a 24 hour turn around on tailoring. That is aces in my book. For the second pair, they are keeping my size on file and will mail them to me when after being cuffed. This is the best service I have had in a men's store and I am sad that this is a rare thing in San Francisco. Now it needs to be said, one of by biggest issues, and IMHO grandest failings in men's shops is an air of superiority by the staff. For some reason stores such as Brooks Brothers, Wilkes Bashford (in San Francisco) and others tend to look down their noses at you, as if they are doing you a favor just letting you past the entrance. This is NOT the case with Wright and Simon. I found no pretensions here, they are helpful and appreciate your business. They also have a fantastic selection of suits, sport coats, overcoats and the like for you to peruse. For their pricing I chose "Moderate" and think this is a good description. If you are used to shopping at a department store or at the local mall for clothing and you walk in to Wright and Simon you will find this place expensive, but if you are used to purchasing fine men's clothing, you will find this place par for the course. Also, Delaware has no sales tax, and this should be taken in to account when discussing price. All in all, this is one of those stores where you will look better walking out of then you did walking in. I am looking forward to my next visit to Wilmington, DE. I think I need a new suit.

I have seen college students and young professionals, and with the new medications for weight loss, great way to update your new size wardrobe. I started a fitting room with probably $600 worth of clothes. My daughter said she had to use the potty (again, she is 4) and I asked an employee if I could use their bathroom. The employee looked at us and dismissively said "we don't have public restrooms" and then said "you could try Fresh Market" (grocery store that is opposite side of the shopping center). This employee could see my daughter was uncomfortable so I left without another word. To any mom who has a rare window to shop, you know how difficult it is to do so with little kids in tow. Have YOU ever told a 4 year old to 'hold it' while you walk for 7 minutes to another store that *might* have a public restroom in the freezing cold?! I understand stores have a no public bathroom for a reason, I worked for 5 years in retail. However in my situation I would hope Lululemon would have the wherewithal to train their staff to recognize a stressful situation and make a small exception. If you can expect hardworking moms to pay $150 for a pair of pants, but not even grant them an exception to use your restroom, shame on you. I left the store so disappointed and embarrassed and I am prepared to never, EVER give Lululemon another penny which is a shame, because today they lost out on a sale from a loyal customer today.
