I came in with a friend a few months ago. I was disappointed to see that they didn't have a very good selection of shoes and they were very expensive. My friend and I were talking to one of the employees to see if they had a certain shoe, and my friend had unknowingly put their foot up on one of the stools, not knowing it moved, and almost fell, while the employee (I don't know her name) ran to the stool and pulled it away and was very snarky and said that you're not supposed to do that. I understand you're not supposed to do that, but my friend had no idea, and when your customer is in danger and is going to fall?? I am sure if any damage was to be caused we would have paid to repair it. I think that if this store had a better selection, more personable employees, and maybe better customer-safety-values, things would have gone very, very differently. I really hope they can enhance this store in the future, as I am sure my friend and I are willing to give it another chance if that is the case. read more

Purchased an item over the phone and was charged sales tax when I live in DE. I called to ask about having it refunded and was told rudely by Angela, the manager, that she doesn't know how to do that and doesn't fool with those things!!!! She was happy to take my business but not so friendly when I called with an issue. Horrible way to treat people. Won't buy from this store again and will spread the word! Had a major blowout on my old New Balance shoes, so stopped in for a new pair. Always try to buy local when I can. First, I met the most arrogant salesman ever. I really felt like I was putting him out and he was really not helpful. I left after trying on only one pair. Second, poor store design. You are not permitted to walk between the benches and shoe racks in socks due to slippery floors (I guess). So rather than getting a few carpet runners or something, you have to keep putting your shoes back on to look at options. Seems a shoe store should better accommodate their potential customers. I recently got braces for my legs and it was suggested I go to New Balance for sneakers that would work well with them. From the moment I walked in, Donna treated me like family. She asked thoughtful questions to assess my needs and daily walking routines. She was extremely knowledgeable about the different sneaker models and which would serve me best. i tried "exchanging" tennis shoes ten days later for a wider width. perfect condition after trying on carpet at home. bag, box and receipt presented to the sales person. he checked all and was working to help me swap for correct width. suddenly a short dark haired woman came out of the back room and started barking loudly that "we've done this before", (i felt i was back in third grade all over again). she grabbed the box w shoes and angrily went into the back. i explained to the salesperson that we'd never done this before. he apologized for her. terrible scene she made. she came out to the front again and i told her i had never bin treated so rudely and obnoxiously before in my 68 years. further that she can keep the shoes and issue me a refund. which the salesperson happily performed w apology to me on her behalf. beware on trying to exchange an item. read more

I visited the New Balance store in Rehobeth the day before Thanksgiving. I forgot my running shoes at home and went to buy a new pair. I asked if they carried my shoes New Balance Minimus. I have been wearing them for years. The salesperson asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for. She said they didn't carry them and walked away. I asked if they had any other type of minimalist running shoe and she said no. Did not offer to show me anything. Was very dismissive. I was put off. I went in to this shop and there were four "salesman." I was the only customer and it took them a few minutes to ask me if I wanted help. I asked for crosstrainers and they showed me a shoe. I had to ask the model number. When they did not have my size, they didn't even ask me if I wanted to try a different shoe. read more

Went here twice midweek and couldn't get the right time of day, even with three salesmen present. Went last Saturday to potentially buy two pair of sneakers. Three women running the store and they could not have been more helpful. I have diabetes, so I have to be very careful about shoes. Had to try on three sizes as comfort and proper fit is critical for diabetics. I believe salesperson was Susan. Very patient and very knowledgeable. read more
