Tonight on September 5th, my family and I were at the park…read morefrom about 1 PM all the way till the closing of the water portion of the HOA Fair Oaks Park, and Marks the "patrol security" was discriminatory towards my handicap son. this is not the first interaction that we've/ neighbors have had with him and with the aggressive security patrol this company seems to do. For this company being veteran owned and operated, the lack of compassion for a handicap child who cannot see, walk, or talk, is ridiculous. As we were exiting to load up the cars, I had placed wood chips in the crack of the solid steel door that is guarding the entire park to allow the door to be held open because of the FOB device that needs to be used in order to unlock it every single time you use it to allow entrance in. Mind you, this park is not handicap accessible so this was easy for us to do as we loaded my son in the car instead of swiping the key in my hand while I carried him. As I was walking out with my child, he thought that it was necessary as I stood in front of him, to remove the wood chips and shut the door on me TWICE, even after explaining our situation. After he shut the door while I was carrying my son, I asked why he felt the need to shut it seeing me holding him and instead of offering to help, he rudely said he "did not care" and because "the door will get damaged". He then proceeded to tell me that my "cousin was doing a good job holding the door open for me Just fine". He shut it as I was holding my son in my arms. I then asked him if the door is more prioritized than my handicap son, and he responded with "yes, because I told you twice already; the door will get damaged". We explained the accessibility issue. No one cursed at him, no one gave him any problems, and he walked in on us as we were leaving the park. How he approached us and said, " hey, this isn't allowed but after you put him in the car, I'm gonna shut the door" we wouldn't have had an issue. He was aggressive from the start. There was nothing about our interaction that needed to be confrontational on his end and considering that he has a "high position" within this company, owner or not; is very disappointing to see that as a resident of this area for over 20 years with multiple properties in the area, we would be treated this way. I regret not pulling my phone out to record the conversation because I plan to do everything I can to make sure that people know what this company represents, and it's opposite of what they say they do. This is not the first time this has happened and I will be contacting the other people in this neighborhood to file a formal complaint with HOA. This company is a joke. If marks is so angry with his life, maybe he shouldn't be patrolling a park to confirm the ego he so desperately needs. If he IS a veteran, then this makes this even more pathetic on his end. the company's website says "excellence, integrity, and professionalism" but he will be the downfall of this company, whether it's his or not. This was discriminatory beyond belief. I look forward to discussing this with HOA considering the mortgages we pay are also the reason he's even getting a check in the first place. Do not hire this company.
