I shopped some quotes for unloading of the truck I was driving, and New Beginnings not only was the most responsive (and friendly!), but also the most reasonably priced. Bruce reached out to me to confirm the move, including a change of date, and he was always super friendly and professional. His two movers (Deshaun and Bruce's son, whose name I unfortunately can't remember) were really nice and efficient. They were super honest, too. I just used New Beginnings Moving. I received a few quotes before selecting a moving company. After speaking to Bruce, I discussed a few challenges with previous moving companies I've used. Their crews arrived 10 minutes prior to the expected time. Justin, Deshawn & Derrick were incredibly professional and got to work right away. Two employees were protecting & loading the truck while the other started taking apart some of the furniture. In all, these movers were done in 6 hours! Let me start off by saying Bruce the owner at NBMS went above and beyond to help us out of a HORRIBLE situation. We originally booked a small move for my son from Phoenix to Dallas with Cory Ross-Brightside Moving Group out of Florida. I wasn't aware that Brightside was a moving broker who frequently works with very unsavory unreputable local movers, namely Master Movers out of Tarzana, CA. Originally Cory's phone demeanor was very pleasant and the bid for a 1BR apartment was about $800 less than other companies so I went with them. I then asked him to bid our bigger move from Phoenix to San Diego and again it was about $1,000 less than other bids from local Phoenix movers. That's how they get you. We had a lot going on with health issues (thus the reason for our move back to CA) and I stupidly trusted Cory and Brightside. Cory insisted they only use 5- star local companies. Come moving day Master Movers out of Tarzana CA fills a 26' truck only about 20% (the truck was 80% EMPTY!!) and states I'm over the estimate and I need to pay an additional $3000 to get my stuff to San Diego. I realized at that point I had been duped and refused to pay the additional and had them remove what they said was excess over the original quote. It was an extremely tense situation right there in our frontyard and the Foreman Juan was giving a scripted speech insisting that a queen mattress and box spring was 200 cubic feet! Additionally the original quote from Phx to San Diego included 4 more pieces of large furniture that I decided to sell before the move - but somehow I was still over my estimate by 800 cubic feet? At that point I knew I could not have them pick up my son's items for the Phoenix to Dallas move which they were supposed to pick up the next day. I started calling local movers and THANK GOD for Bruce and NBMS. Bruce explained to me that these moving brokers get away with this all the time because they change their name and DOT number so they continue getting business. He told me they probably still had the truck in Phoenix with my items and they delay because they wait for another unsuspecting customer to do as I did and commit to them. That's how they fill the truck up. He also informed me that reputable movers will never ask for a big deposit up front which I did pay 40% upfront to Brightside then 60% of the balance the day of pickup. I definitely learned a huge lesson but that's how these crooks get you. Moving is a stressful time and like I said we had a lot of other serious medical issues. Brightside wouldn't answer my calls for the next few days (caller ID-they knew it was me or my husband calling) as I desperately tried to move up delivery date. Each time they told us someone would get back to us in 15min but of course no one ever did. They were truly ghosting us meanwhile they had all of our belongings somewhere between Phoenix and San Diego. Bruce called them and explained that he was willing to get my stuff and complete the move if it was still in the Phoenix area. He wasn't successful with that part but did end up moving my son's items to Dallas without a hitch at an extremely reasonable rate. He even came to the house that day before his crew showed up to personally introduce himself to me. That kind of customer service is hard to find these days. If I ever need a mover again I will call on Bruce and New Beginnings Moving Solutions. He is as fair and honest as they come. Although Bruce came out as he said and repaired or touched up quite a few pieces ,I do regret not getting insurance. My husband repaired quite a few things also. We just finished our move from Phoenix to Austin. My main concern was the coordination and care for my personal belongings. Due to my work schedule I also had to get several estimates and had a narrow window to make sure my items were delivered on time. The three companies I contacted all came out and did a walk through before giving me an estimate, but NBMS was the first to respond and was consistent with pricing. They weren't the cheapest, but they were in line with the competition and very expedient. Bruce called me directly and asked me exactly what I wanted and needed to be accomplished. The other companies were not as personable and wanted to spend more time on my estimate rather than understand my situation. Once I had explained everything to him, he managed the entire process as we agreed, and kept me posted daily. I would say the main reason I chose NBMS was their level of communication. I was looking for a moving company to load my 12ft x 4ft custom table onto a moving truck so I could begin my new life in Florida. When I called and they answered, "New Beginnings Moving Solutions", I said, "Yup you're the company for me. I'm starting a new beginning and you guys are going to help me!" Even though they had a 2 hour minimum, the gentleman suggested I allow his team to load all of my belongings...not just the table. I agreed. Justin and team came out right on time December 22nd. My table has been moved 3 other times by 6 - 8 firefighters but Justin and team did it with just 4. They were professional and did not damage my table. They also loaded my 8ft mirror and 7ft dresser, countless boxes, two king size beds, etc. I rented a 26ft truck and they packed everything in there so well that when I arrived in Florida there was no damage. I hauled a transporter on the back of the truck that was carrying my 2022 Toyota Camry. During the trip the straps to secure the tires came off and the car started swaying while I was doing 65 mph. I got control of the truck and slowly came to a stop which was very difficult. Even then because of how they packed the truck no damage to my belongings. When I arrived in Florida, there was a back road that I had to take to my new home. The road is 50 miles and there are no lights...just swamp on both sides. I fell asleep for a moment and woke up to the truck leaning as we were off road. I quickly got the truck back on the road and once again no damage to any of my belongings. I will never transport my own belongings again across country but I will use New Beginnings Moving Solutions if I ever return to Phoenix. Justin and team you guys are great and I celebrate you!!! We contracted with NBMS to move our belongings from Phoenix to Albuquerque. The crew that loaded in Phoenix ran out of blankets to protect our patio furniture but loaded it anyway. Once the furniture was unloaded in Albuquerque, extensive damage to the patio furniture was discovered. The driver laughed it off as if patio furniture wasn't as important as in-house furniture. A few days after arriving in ABQ I contacted Bruce (the owner) about the damage. When I tried to get a commitment from Bruce to take responsibility for the damage caused by his crew, he mmediately became defensive and belligerent, telling me I was acting "like God" and that I was "disrespecting" him by asking for a firm commitment. After several more weeks of unreturned calls and emails I located a local company to repair the damage. Bruce begrudgingly agreed to bear the cost and promised to send a check the same day. A week later the check had not arrived and I called Bruce again. This time he told me I was "unethical", that " the world does not revolve around you", that I was "the worst customer he'd ever had", and that he was "doing me a favor" by compensating me for the damage he caused. The check finally arrived over a week later than promised. I have rarely had a worse experience with a service provider. An ethical business owner takes responsibility for the shortcomings of his employees and does not berate the customer for seeking damages. Beware of all the big talk and promises. Bruce and NBMS are not to be trusted in the event your furniture or goods are damaged. read more

I can't say enough positive things about New Beginnings. Bruce and his team were phenominal for our move from AZ to FL. As a Realtor, I've heard horror stories about moving companies, but this was not my experience with Bruce. Our furniture was well taken care of and arrived in perfect condition. The price I was quoted was the price I paid. No gimmicks and no holding my belongings hostage. They were reliable, on time, and Bruce's communication was excellent. There was a little issue in Houston when someone cut the lock on the truck, stole a few items and broke a window on our vehicle they were towing, but Bruce made sure it was taken care of. I've heard they're going to start using a different type of lock that is harder to cut, but I'd also like to suggest that even though they stayed in an "upgraded" hotel, it might be a good idea to stay outside high crime areas.
