After we requested that our furniture be pad-wrapped for storage, we were charged $1,200 for 60 furniture pads at $20 each. Before work began, we were not given a written estimate stating the expected quantity or warning that wrapping could add approximately $1,200 to our bill. Our concern is not the wrapping itself, but the lack of transparency about the quantity and total material cost. A $20-per-pad price does not clearly communicate that approximately 60 pads may be used. A charge of this size should have been disclosed and approved in advance, rather than presented afterward as an unexpected surcharge. We asked Moving Team Six to review the charge and consider an adjustment, but did not receive the adjustment requested. Before hiring a moving company, get the expected material quantities, per-unit prices, total estimated costs, and approval process for additional charges in writing. This review reflects our experience and opinion. The lack of transparency and unexpected $1,200 surcharge made this experience particularly disappointing. I just survived a full two-day pack-and-move with Moving Team Six, and I swear to you, this team restored my faith in humanity. (Yes, it's that serious.) Let me set the stage: My last move with a different company was so traumatic, I practically needed therapy. Broken items, stolen items, chaos, zero communication -- the whole nightmare. So this time, my anxiety was on HIGH ALERT. I was expecting disaster. Instead? I got the Avengers of moving. Day 1: Packing -- Enter Bryan, Antonio, & Johnny These three walked in like absolute professionals -- calm, respectful, not fazed by anything -- and immediately took control of the situation in the absolute BEST, most important way possible. They wrapped, sorted, labeled, and boxed my entire life with more care than I give my own children's artwork. They checked in when it mattered ("Do you want to keep this here?" "Should this go in the new pantry?"), but not in that annoying "I need guidance on every teaspoon" way. THEY JUST GOT IT. The perfect balance of independent and in-sync with me. And they worked. THE. ENTIRE. TIME. No breaks. No disappearing acts. No leaning on walls pretending to think. Just nonstop competence, kindness, integrity and respect. Day 2: Moving -- Add James & Daniel to the Squad Five movers total. Five absolute beasts. Five men who moved my entire house like they were in some kind of synchronized Olympic event I didn't know existed. They were lifting, gliding, maneuvering furniture through impossible angles like magicians. They protected my floors, my walls, my sanity -- everything. They placed things exactly where I wanted them without needing a map, a diagram, or 600 questions. And!! They asked just enough to keep me involved without pulling me into any chaos. At one point, I literally had a moment where I thought: "Is this... fun? Is moving ACTUALLY going well?" I didn't know that was possible. Quality over Quantity. Every. Single. Time. Yes, they cost more than the random Craigslist guys with a truck. And THANK GOD FOR THAT. This isn't a "you get what you pay for" situation. This is a you get MORE than what you pay for situation. They treated my home and belongings like their own. They moved like a well-trained unit. They clearly take pride in their work. And honestly? If I could've hugged each of them without making it weird, I would have. DONT USE THIS COMPANY I moved from one Apartment 10 doors down the hall to another . When my office manager and I spoke with Josh on a conference call, he guaranteed all of my furniture would be blanket wrapped and shrink wrapped. I told him in this conversation I took the drawers out of my big dresser and boxed them so it would be lighter. He told myself and my office manager oh no need to do that we will wrap everything. The guys showed up took 25 minutes to put there filthy blankets over my door and roll 7ft. filthy rugs out. I only had 6 pieces of wood furniture to move and maybe 16 boxes the rest I had done myself. I explained to the movers make sure you wrap and are very careful with this furniture it's all very special to me. That not what happened. They brought my glass curio Cabinet un wrapped, and most everything else. I never even saw shrink wrap. I looked down the hall and here comes my nightstand with the drawers flapping and my nightstand items showing He was carrying it in his arms. No blanket no shrink wrap. Than here comes my nine drawer dresser in to my new place and I immediately saw the leg was broken and missing a piece. I asked why did you break my dresser? They said they didn't although I said look there pieces of wood falling off it and it's feels all splintered. I than realized it had split up the leg Also. This was so upsetting I was in tears. My friend was on face time with me and she told the guys at least give her the piece so she can get it fixed. No they denied. The manager Adam was very rude on the phone and basically blew me off. 2021- Update- Messaged on a Monday early am and confirmed a time soon after for a 2 truck, 4 man move! These guys were at it hard, all day long! Loaded in Prescott and Moved it to Surprise. Care was taken to wrap items carefully and they didn't mind input in suggestions when loading (I was a little particular about a few items and they took note and care with them) working together fluidly Cody, Sal, Kory & Mike were great! Thank you! 2018- Can I just say how amazing Moving Team Six is?!?! I have never used a professional moving company, but I would not hesitate to use them again! They freaking Rock! Damen, Kyle & Ko showed up just prior to scheduled time and got moving immediately after they asked for a quick assessment. They must have a regular game plan because they went right to work, taking apart, wrapping and moving. Worked with Josh to coordinate the move of antique and very sentimental furniture from Tucson to Phoenix. Josh was helpful and awesome with communication. Moving day involved Will and Michael. They were prompt when arriving in Tucson and stayed in communication with me as to expected arrival times at both locations. My sister described them as polite and lovely....I absolutely agree. Based on the recommendation from a friend, I hired Moving Team Six to help me move the furniture in my home and I would not recommend them to anyone else. I will say that the crew was nice and overall professional. However as one of the movers was taking apart the bed in the master bedroom, he told me the screws to the slats were stripped and that I needed to go to a hardware store to get more right away or they could not put the bed together again at the new house. I did as they asked, and when I returned from the hardware store, he told me that when he laid the side rail of the bed on the floor, the carpet peeled off a little bit of the paint on the side of the bed. They had already packed it up, so I couldn't see it until I got to a new house. He also pointed out that two of the metal bolts that hold the footboard to the bed were missing, and it must have been the movers that moved me into that home eight years ago that lost them. With the bolts, the footboard would sit flush. When we got to the new house, and I saw the bed, it wasn't just a little bit of paint; it was a one-foot-long piece of wood that had been gouged out of the side! I was not at all pleased and expressed that to the movers. I asked the foreman if he had any paint or filler to fix it, and he said he didn't. He didn't carry it on the truck anymore because it got too messy. I also noticed two sides of my wooden office filing cabinet had taken some damage, but the bed was my main concern. At the end of the move, the total came to well over $2k for a move 45 minutes away. When the foreman came in to give me the final bill, he told me that to make up for the damage to the bed and the filing cabinet, they would take $20 off my bill. I thought it was a joke. When I called the office the next day, the man who answered, Adam, said he would let the owners know and see what he could do. In the meantime, I returned to clean the old house and found one of the metal bolts for the footboard that Moving Team Six had lost and tried to blame on a previous mover. After the weekend, Adam got back to me and told me the Moving Team Six handyman would contact me to fix the bed. He arrived in a white work truck with no business logo or decal but two giant Trump for President flags, one attached to each side of the cab, parked in front of my house. Having just moved into the neighborhood, I was appalled. The truck had no indicator that it belonged to a contractor or any business, and it was sitting in front of my home for my new neighbors to see and associate with me. I will give the contractor credit for moving his truck when I asked him nicely and for being pleasant to deal with, but to show up and broadcast his politics instead of his business at my home was unwelcome. I will give the handyman credit, he did a good job making the bed look presentable. But all in all, the $20 'discount" did not make up for the effort I had to go through to fight to have my furniture repaired and politics questioned. The owners should have reached out or sent a survey asking how I thought the move went. All I got was an email asking me to refer them business. Bryan, Luis, and Matthew loaded in AZ from my home and a storage unit. This was the most stress free, quick, and seamless loading I've ever experienced. And I've moved many times over the years. The owner even came by. That's unheard of and one I've never seen before. Bryan and Luis unloaded in NV. And these guys are quick! They unloaded a full truck in supersonic speed! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY~~~ I'm rewriting my review because the management responded with lies. 1. There was NOT a contract signed before I used them. After the drivers delivered our furniture, we were told: sign here, sign here, sign here and off they went. BUYER BEWARE!! 2. Nothing was wrapped as promised. Tv, sofa, etc. Our cushions were NOT dirty before (as the company rep just stated) the move but after... Huge, dark dirt stains from being tossed around in the truck. We immediately sent the company the photos and was told a cleaner would come out. The stains are now spread out and worse. The company cleaner responded to our concerns with "The cushions are just still wet." We were JUST now told that the cushions were already dirty. REALLY? Not true. 3. Before the truck left, we ran out to tell them that drawer pulls were missing from an antique dresser. They said "Oh, sorry. It's not in the truck." 4. The movers dismounted our 49" flatscreen and put it in the truck. It sat in a spare room for 12 days until we unwrapped it and noticed a 2" gash. We've just been told "We can't pay for a new tv. That would cost more than the move" (We have all the texts to back this up) 5. We were again JUST now told that we signed the waiver of paying .60 per pound of insurance BEFORE the move. False. We signed the paperwork after the move. This is critical and they now refuse to simply file an insurance claim for complete negligence. 6. The company reps hide behind "We're so sorry" and had the nerve to sign off on a text as "God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving" Rude and condescending to say the least. 7. We were offered $200 with a note of "other companies would only pay you $50" We took it and now we're taking to social media. We were NOT grateful as Adam claims. Customer service is everything and this company fails miserably as does their claims as who they hire to move. 8. Social media is very powerful. We are choosing to rate them on Yelp, Angie's List, Marketplace, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and a couple of news channels and others. Stop searching for a moving company, these are the guys you want to go with. We have used Moving Team Six for 2 of our moves now, and both moves were absolutely 10/10. We also referred a friend whose move went perfectly with Moving Team Six as well. On our first move, we went from a 2 BR apartment to a 3 BR home in Phoenix. They gave an accurate and competitive quote, showed up perfectly on time, and completed our move with blazing speed. Most impressively, NOTHING was broken. Everything was well packed. Every member of the crew introduced themselves, they crushed it! For our second move we went from a 3 BR home to a 4 BR home, this time out of state. We let them know we only could do one truck and they were able to pack our things perfectly to make it fit with room to spare! Once again, the quote was accurate, they took amazing care of our belongings, and made our out of state move stress free, which I did not know was possible. They even packed our kitchen, again NOTHING was broken. The same guys who helped us pack stayed with the truck and arrived at our new home just 2 days later! Other out of state companies we got quotes from said they were going to take a week, put our stuff on a truck with another home, and leave the truck wherever they stopped at night. Moving Team Six was faster than the other guys, better communicators, and we knew our belongings were safe since the same guys stayed with the truck the entire time. When they arrived, they offloaded the truck, put together our beds/ desks and other furniture, and were just amazing. This is a long review, but I really cannot thank Moving Team Six enough. I also cannot recommend them enough. Just go with these guys, they are so worth it. If you value truly excellent customer service, clear and accurate communication, punctuality, and your movers valuing your belongings as much as you do, Moving Team Six is the only way to go! I'm amazed and delighted by the Moving Team 6 crews that worked with me to get me from a house in Phoenix up to one in the country north of town. The first crew that packed up my home did a stellar job. They were efficient, fast, patient, professional, and friendly. Damen was the supervisor and Anthony and Justin were his crew. I had not filled out the estimate properly (my fault, not theirs) and they just rolled with the punches, adjusting their schedule and arranging for a delivery of supplies to the house. These hard working guys barely took a break during the first hot hot hot day of the year. It was 105º and they just kept going nonstop. When it came time to pay the bill, Damen explained every line and gave me the option of writing a check, explaining the 4% extra charge for credit. The crew that dropped off my goods today were equally efficient, fast, and professional. Earle was the supervisor and he had Anthony, Austin, and Robby as his crew. I've moved now 14 times and I would rate this business at the top. From the first time reaching out to the service they provided on moving day, there were on top of their game, came prepared, and knew what they were doing. We moved from East Phoenix to North Glendale. They wrapped all of our furniture with plastic, put down a center walkway trample mat, and did all the work they promised to do. We moved in October and the temps were still in the 100s but that didn't seem to faze these guys. I don't think we'll be moving in the near future but I really did enjoy their workmanship and would use them again in the future. No damage was done to any of our belongings, minus a scratch and one ding to our wall, but it wasn't a big deal. read more
